Very good brunch!
I go here for two reasons: 1. The Juniper Benny, and 2. The view. Both consistently deliver a great experience!!! Can't recommend it enough!
We have been to the Juniper Bistro for Brunch a couple of times, really enjoyed the food and service. This time we booked the hotel and dinner to ski at Sunshine, everything went perfectly. The cheese and meat board was great, we ordered different main meals, lamb, duck and pork, everything was cooked perfectly. Service was great as always.
A delightful evening with stunning views, sumptuous food, a relaxed atmosphere and terrific service (thank you, Brian from St. Catherine’s).
Receptionist was not friendly @ all,.Nicole, our waitress was friendly and accomodating. Food was good..and the view from the table was great!!
Excellent service food and atmosphere. Was wonderful to be able to go out after a lockdown and the Juniper and it’s staff made it memorable. Thank you
It was the first night they opened for dinner after the lockdown. It was our first night out for a long time . the place was a little on the empty side but the staff made us feel so welcome and provided a cozy intimate, setting for our anniversary dinner. They lit a fire for us in the large, original old fireplace, they served us with flair and elegance that were natural , sensitive and unaffected . The drinks were great, the food very good. Our waiter, I think his name is Steven, was perfect. It wasn’t cheap, but we had a lovely evening. I love that place for the view and the tasteful, modest, minimalistic decor which accents the history, materials and craftsmanship of the area, and the service and food, of course, without which all the rest would not work. We’ve been there before and loved it every time, they seem to be very consistent in maintaining this level over the years.
Our dinner was perfection and gluten free! Right from the beginning they accommodated my husband's celiac disease. We started with the chef's soup of the day which was delightful leak potato chicken. They toasted him up some gluten free bread on the side. My husband had a perfectly cooked wild boar and I had a perfectly cooked salmon. The squash puree was super delicious as was the wine reduction sauce. We were surprised to have them tell us it was their first service of the season! It was wonderful.
My wife and I had lunch at this and slightly "out of the way" restaurant very near the Banff town site. The staff was courteous and very friendly. We had a lovely conversation with our server, Lucy (who was awesome by the way). The meal was well prepared and arrived shortly after ordering. We had the Juniper Benny and the Burger (on a gluten free bun). Both meals were well prepared, nicely flavoured and the attention to details was evident in its presentation. We sat by the window (properly socially distanced from another table) and had a wonderful view of the Rockies. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience and would definitely come back to this treasure of a restaurant.
Server barely check-in, we had to seek her out every time. Asked for seating with good views when making reso due to special occasion, when we arrived they wanted to seat us next to another table (when the restaurant was empty - weird choice during COVID), but also literally behind a wall with no views. Asked to be moved, and they seemed a bit upset at the request but obliged.
Great brunch, great view, great service.
Delicious food and amazing atmosphere! I haven't stayed at the hotel, but this restaurant makes me want to!
The most breathtaking view I've ever seen! The food was lovely, too.
Overall very good restaurant with nice views.
Great food! Beautiful spot!
We were seated right away even though we were early. Food was excellent and arrived quickly. Would have liked a little more coffee. View was gorgeous.
The Juniper has an amazing view inside and out. The menu is so good its difficult to choose what to eat. Even the coffee was delicious. You should try and stop in on any visit to the mountains.
We enjoyed an awesome brunch with a stunning view and had amazing service! Both our Bennies were delicious and eggs were poached to perfection. The tables were well spaced apart which left us feeling like we were safe from Covid. Thanks, we will return.
Although the view of mountains is great, the decor is really bad and dated. I wouldn’t go there for dinner , perhaps breakfast or brunch.
I loved the place and the the location is beautiful but I felt the menu need to be more richer, I went hoping I’ll get eggs benny with vegetables but end up with grilled avocados as a safe option because I don’t eat meats. We also tried the SHAKSHUKA it’s was so delicious!! I’ll sure go and try it again in the summer patio looked like a great place to have brunch!
Went for brunch and it was amazing! The drinks were also outstanding! We had the “mosquito bite” and it was one of the best drinks of our trip! Definitely coming back! Also the views are outstanding!
We visited The Juniper during a stay at the hotel for our 9th anniversary. The food selection and quality, the service, the value for money and the location were all exceptional. Any of their egg dishes were so very tasty. So much so that we went back for another round the next day. Compliments to the Chefs and Servers and Owners.
Do yourself a favour ... visit here for a great "almost-all-day" brunch!
Amazing food, views and our server syd was so great.
Great food with a unique presentation. Loved the huevos rancheros, fresh ground coffee, excellent sausages. Friendly service was also awesome!
Went for brunch at Juniper Bistro. Was seated next to a window with a great view of the mountains. We had the stuffed French toast and the salmon benny. Both were delicious. Service was great and friendly. Would definitely go back.
We found Juniper Bistro's staff to discriminate against us based on our skin colour (racial profiling). We weren't given the same attention as other customers in the restaurant and when we asked another server (not ours) to ask if we can move to another table that was empty, she said she would check if there were any reservations (this was at 1:50pm and the restaurant closed at 2:00pm). She never came back to inform us and totally ignored us. Our server only started to pay attention to us when she made a mistake in our order. I wouldn't go back there again.
Planned it as our last meal for our first trip to Banff and was not disappointed at all. Quantity of the meals was very filling. The shakshuka was awesome and so was the stuffed french toast. Service was excellent.
Will definitely be returning and will probably make this stop our new last stop tradition.
Great food, great views. Got a recommendation to drive up the mountain for even better views by our server.
5/5 would done again
Decided to venture out of the city for breakfast and gave Juniper Bistro a try. We're glad we chose this place. The food was great, the price was reasonable and the service was attentive. GO.
Breakfast was great. Coffee showed up after food was delivered. They comped the drinks for us due to this. Will return
Good food and service. Beautiful views!
Juniper Bistro is a hidden gem. We went for my mother's 60th birthday brunch before walking around Johnstone Lake and we were pleasantly surprised by the food. The interior of the restaurant could use a refresh but the view, and quality for value of the food, makes this a great find and perfect choice when visiting Banff and wanting to avoid the tourists.
Beautiful view and great food. Highly recommended!
Loved out stay at the Juniper, breakfast was amazing! Our server was wonderful, great ambience!
Food and views were amazing today. Our server was amazing and would definitely come back again ❤️
Amazing food! We ordered a few things and every meal was amazing! Planning on going back again tomorrow for breakfast
The views are stunning. They are currently only open for breakfast/brunch. Lots of less common options such as grilled grapefruit and bennies on bannock. A good selection that should appeal to most people. Fancy coffees are available.
Great food and service. Will go back!
Atmosphere was wonderful!
Varied breakfast options, lovely flavors. Server was attentive & very sweet, view added to the charm & ambience. Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed ours & each other’s different entrees - so pleased we made the Juniper Bistro part of our weekend in Banff.
Great view and very nice food. Easy to access the place directly from the highway.
