The food and service were excellent, and the view is fabulous! The menu wasn't large, which I suspect is due to COVID as I recall it being bigger before. Both our meals were really, really tasty!!
My only complaint was that I requested a high-top table and they didn't reserve one for us. They didn't offer us the opportunity to have a drink while we waited if we wanted to wait for one to become available. The two hightop tables were full the entire time we were there which makes me think they sat down just before us. Again because I had specifically requested a hightop table, I wasn't impressed they didn't save one for us, especially when the restaurant was empty except for the three tables.
I would recommend that they actually try to accommodate requests, apologize if they're not able to, and state they may not be able to honour requests regarding seating during the reservation process.
Beautiful view while we sat outside. Delicious food. Anil, our server was fabulous!
Always a pleasant sunday brunch with great food and service. The road noise today was a little more intrusive than normal, but still a great ambience out on the patio overlooking vermillion, basking in the sun.
The views here were incredible.. this is now our go to location for a nice sit down meal in Banff, check it out - you won’t be disappointed!
Excellent smashed avocado toast I had for breakfast. Beautiful view of the mountain and lake too.
Our waitress was great friendly prompt
Food was great.
Due to Covid distance rules it wasn’t as cozy as other times we’ve been .
Overall great !
I was really impressed with the place! The food was delicious, well prepared with quality ingredients; the view of the mountains was outstanding; and our waiter was friendly and helpful. I was surprised at how affordable it was too. Truly a lot of bang for your buck!
Very good breakfast and good service.
That view!! Such an amazing backdrop for breakfast... slightly outside of the downtown area so you get a different look at the surrounding mountains. Service was quick and really friendly. The hash browns and oven roasted tomato were also very tasty.
We attended brunch at this restaurant yesterday during a weekend stay in Banff Alberta. The restaurant is a 15 minute drive out of town but definitely worth it. the restaurant was huge windows out too a fantastic mountain view. Because of the large windows most tables can see this view. Secondly the food was vary good not a brunch buffet but breakfast oriented dishes cooked and served with a flair. Thirdly the service was very good our waitress was both very pleasant and very efficient. All together a five star experience. We also booked for dinner but sadly this was cancelled.
We love everything about Juniper Bistro! We will be back and continue to share this hidden gem!!
We always love this restaurant for breakfast! Selection is unique but there are also some classics. Delicious and staff are wonderful!
Best breakfast in Banff, and elsewhere!
Always great food and service and a beautiful view
Amazing breakfast with a view! Had the 2 egg meal and it was fantastic!
We always enjoy our meals at the Juniper. The food and service are excellent and you can't beat the price.
Great Service. I believe our server name was Bryan. He made my kids feel at home, treating them like customers not only like kids. The food was awesome, the view spectacular. We will go again if we can get a table...
My husband and I came here for my birthday brunch. It was delicious! Highlight recommend the Juniper Benny! We also got the ‘eggs your way’ with sausage and sourdough bread, which was fantastic. Their jam is to die for. Not to mention the beautiful view of the mountains from your table. Service is wonderful.
COVID, I know but the lighting in the farthest dining room diminishes the experience. Beef tenderloin needed more of a crust and was under seasoned.
Never disappoints! Amazing food, great view, friendly service and reasonable prices! We were on a daytrip from Edmonton and had to stop in. Thanks again!
Very good brunch!
I go here for two reasons: 1. The Juniper Benny, and 2. The view. Both consistently deliver a great experience!!! Can't recommend it enough!
We have been to the Juniper Bistro for Brunch a couple of times, really enjoyed the food and service. This time we booked the hotel and dinner to ski at Sunshine, everything went perfectly. The cheese and meat board was great, we ordered different main meals, lamb, duck and pork, everything was cooked perfectly. Service was great as always.
A delightful evening with stunning views, sumptuous food, a relaxed atmosphere and terrific service (thank you, Brian from St. Catherine’s).
Receptionist was not friendly @ all,.Nicole, our waitress was friendly and accomodating. Food was good..and the view from the table was great!!
Excellent service food and atmosphere. Was wonderful to be able to go out after a lockdown and the Juniper and it’s staff made it memorable. Thank you
The food and service were amazing! We had the charcuterie board to start and I highly recommend it as a shareable item. They did run out of the meal I wanted to have for my dinner, but they were super helpful with a substitution, and I enjoyed my salmon very much. - @youwannaeatwithme for all your foodie needs!
It was the first night they opened for dinner after the lockdown. It was our first night out for a long time . the place was a little on the empty side but the staff made us feel so welcome and provided a cozy intimate, setting for our anniversary dinner. They lit a fire for us in the large, original old fireplace, they served us with flair and elegance that were natural , sensitive and unaffected . The drinks were great, the food very good. Our waiter, I think his name is Steven, was perfect. It wasn’t cheap, but we had a lovely evening. I love that place for the view and the tasteful, modest, minimalistic decor which accents the history, materials and craftsmanship of the area, and the service and food, of course, without which all the rest would not work. We’ve been there before and loved it every time, they seem to be very consistent in maintaining this level over the years.
Our dinner was perfection and gluten free! Right from the beginning they accommodated my husband's celiac disease. We started with the chef's soup of the day which was delightful leak potato chicken. They toasted him up some gluten free bread on the side. My husband had a perfectly cooked wild boar and I had a perfectly cooked salmon. The squash puree was super delicious as was the wine reduction sauce. We were surprised to have them tell us it was their first service of the season! It was wonderful.
My wife and I had lunch at this and slightly "out of the way" restaurant very near the Banff town site. The staff was courteous and very friendly. We had a lovely conversation with our server, Lucy (who was awesome by the way). The meal was well prepared and arrived shortly after ordering. We had the Juniper Benny and the Burger (on a gluten free bun). Both meals were well prepared, nicely flavoured and the attention to details was evident in its presentation. We sat by the window (properly socially distanced from another table) and had a wonderful view of the Rockies. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience and would definitely come back to this treasure of a restaurant.
Server barely check-in, we had to seek her out every time. Asked for seating with good views when making reso due to special occasion, when we arrived they wanted to seat us next to another table (when the restaurant was empty - weird choice during COVID), but also literally behind a wall with no views. Asked to be moved, and they seemed a bit upset at the request but obliged.
Great brunch, great view, great service.
Delicious food and amazing atmosphere! I haven't stayed at the hotel, but this restaurant makes me want to!
The most breathtaking view I've ever seen! The food was lovely, too.
Overall very good restaurant with nice views.
Great food! Beautiful spot!
We were seated right away even though we were early. Food was excellent and arrived quickly. Would have liked a little more coffee. View was gorgeous.
The Juniper has an amazing view inside and out. The menu is so good its difficult to choose what to eat. Even the coffee was delicious. You should try and stop in on any visit to the mountains.
We enjoyed an awesome brunch with a stunning view and had amazing service! Both our Bennies were delicious and eggs were poached to perfection. The tables were well spaced apart which left us feeling like we were safe from Covid. Thanks, we will return.
Although the view of mountains is great, the decor is really bad and dated. I wouldn’t go there for dinner , perhaps breakfast or brunch.
