Poached eggs on the Benny were way over cooked. Basically hard boiled
Service and food were excellent. We really enjoyed our evening here.
Good quality and service. The home made fois do all the difference. Amazing!
The service was so bad we did not sit for our reservation.
We Asked to sit in a seat that had not been cleared. We offered to wait and she refused
Our server was amazing. The coffee and tea were great. The view was wonderful. The eggs benny was fine, but it was cold in some places, lukewarm in others. For $20, it should be better than fine and cold.
The service was terrible after we got our food the server just ignored us until she realized we had stop touching our food. She refused to come by even when being flagged down. For having a reservation and being the only guests in the restaurant we also were forced into a corner that was a mediocre table at best. Her clothing was dirty and attitude was terrible. I honestly can say I have been here multiple times and had the worst experience ever and will be passing along only this experience because NO ONE should be subjected to this when the juniper is a destination spot to go to...
Food was fantastic. Great service, very friendly staff
The servers were amazing here. Made everybody feel as though they were at home and welcomed. Food was very good as well!
The food was sub-par. The stuffed French toast was undercooked with just a little bit of Brie. The service was slo and the hostess wasn’t friendly.
Short rib was great, kids chicken fingers great.
Decent wine selection.
Friendly and helpful staff.
The service here is what really hits the mark. The location is great, set off from the busy part of Banff, tucked away in a 50s modern hotel, but everyone working here tries so hard to please from the host who talked with us about the hotel's history, to the waiter who very sincerely offered suggestions, to the cooks who hustled our food out to our hungry boys.
Ate in the lounge to avoid the larger number of people in the dining room; bartender was friendly and made good recommendations based on what we said we liked.
Food was very good (recommend the warm mushroom salad and the duck breast main) with the exception of dessert, the crème brûlée was scrambled, and then over-sugared in an attempt to cover up the miss on the custard - the result was a rock-hard/burnt sugar top layer with a runny custard underneath.
My family of 4 attended and each of our dishes was delicious. The gluten free bread option with the charcuterie could have been a bit more inspiring (it was two slices of toast) but otherwise the meal was great and service was very good!
Great discovery of the Juniper this weekend!
awesome food and service, as well as a breathtaking view of the Bow Valley. will definitely be back.
Food tasted great and the views were spectacular!
Décor enchanteur, cuisine excellente et en prime, une chanteuse à la voix charmante, quel dimanche ! We went to this restaurant twice a week for breakfast, what a great discovery!
Great food and view. Service was not bad. Definitely recommend.
Excellent meal and great service.
We had a reservation for Sunday brunch and as anticipated they were very busy!! Our meals arrived cold and we notified our server who promptly replaced them and everything was wonderful. The weather did not cooperate with us during our visit but from what we could see, the views are outstanding. Highly recommend for brunch and views!!
We love it. Stayed with a dog, so convenient walking out. Beautiful view from the room. Clean room comfortable bed, nice staff
The food is great. We had the pork chop and the duck leg. Service was very friendly. The views are spectacular.
It was amazing..we were running late and the manager was nice about it and said no need to rush and the food was good too
Wonderful meal and lovely visit! Staff were all kind and attentive, and let us pick the quieter side to sit for our romantic dinner, which was very appreciated. :)
Lovely server. A view to die for. Excellent food.
Excellent meal and nice friendly service from all the staff including the chef and server.
Food was served cold and didn't taste good either.
But the ambience and the view was exceptionally good.
Don't think will return.
Amateur waiters, did not recognize birthday celebration, waited 50 minutes for appies when we went at 8pm and dining room was half empty.
First off, I'd actually rate the food at 4.25, and my reason comes due to the beet salad. Otherwise I would rate it higher.
I came in to try out their Banff Taste of Adventure festival menu, which comprised of their Juniper Beet Salad, Chaga Brined Pork Loin Chop and Pumpkin Cheesecake (Vegan Gingerbread Cake for my wife).
Overall, it was fantastic. The Beet Salad had one glaring issue with execution as it had a sprinkling of kosher salt to give a bit of contrast to the sweetness of the beets. The problem is that it was applied in clumps, which meant that one bite could be overly sweet with the beets, and then overwhelmingly salty. This made the beet salad a bit of a miss.
The Pork loin was well made, with a warm barley that provided a really nice texture contrast and was a nice change of pace from the usual potatoes or rice. Both my dish and my wife's was missing a component, the fennel and apple salad (as listed) with no explanation though. My wife stated that the pork chop was near perfect for her, and I do admit it was well cooked and brined well. The only issue I would have with this one (beside the missing apple/fennel salad) was that the brining gave the pork chop a similar texture to a ham steak to me. Still, it was flavorful.
My only issue with the Cheesecake is that it was incredibly rich and decadant. The gingersnap dust gave the dessert a really nice micro-crunchy addition to the dish, and I enjoyed it immensely as my blood sugar rose through the roof (not recommended for diabetics like me... but worth it!). The gingerbread cake, as described by my wife, wasn't overly sweet, had perfect flavors and would appeal to pretty much anyone vegan or not.
Overall, it was a great meal. The restaurant were understaffed due to a missing sick server, but the service staff managed an admirable job with a busy dining room. Careful with the parking lot as it was a skating rink at the time with nary sand or gravel and some of the chairs really need repair.
We have been coming to Banff for years and loved discovering this hidden gem. It is short drive out of town, but totally worth it. The hotel has been nicely updated and we stopped into the restaurant and were so impressed by the quality of the food and the friendly service. Great cocktails and nice wine selection. And that view of Rundle Mountain is incredible. We will be back again.
Excellent food service and atmosphere. We were never rushed and we told not to hurry be comfortable. We live in Canmore and as locals love this restaurant and it’s staff. Thank you
An superb meal and lovely staff. I’m looking forward to going again.
Pleasant service, good attention toCo id protocols, interesting menu, some lovely Canadian wines.
Great service and the views are amazing!
We had the Taste of Adventure menu. Love this place! It’s perfect for date night. The food is always amazing and you can’t beat the view.
Wonderful views, amazing food. Service staff where phenomenal
We had trouble navigating to the hotel because google maps sent us astray. Not the restaurants fault at all but when we mentioned it, they did not seem to care.
That was our first impression.
The food was great, service was not so great and they were not very willing to acommodate special requests. Not very impressed.
Max was great!!! Would definitely go there again.
Had a fantastic dinner with my wife at Juniper. Drinks were great, wife had a Moscow Mule. She loved it. We ordered the charcuterie platter, it was superb. Our mains were stellar as well. Gnocchi for my wife and Duck for me. Server was great, view was amazing! Recommend 100 percent.
great food with awesome view!!! friendly service and amazing environment to enjoy a wonderful brunch!
Excellent food in a nice quiet setting. The chef's use local ingredients and produce imaginative dishes. Would definitely eat her again when I am in Banff. Prices were reasonable for a higher end restaurant too. The view from the windows in one of the best in Banff.
