We had a reservation for Sunday brunch and as anticipated they were very busy!! Our meals arrived cold and we notified our server who promptly replaced them and everything was wonderful. The weather did not cooperate with us during our visit but from what we could see, the views are outstanding. Highly recommend for brunch and views!!
We love it. Stayed with a dog, so convenient walking out. Beautiful view from the room. Clean room comfortable bed, nice staff
The food is great. We had the pork chop and the duck leg. Service was very friendly. The views are spectacular.
It was amazing..we were running late and the manager was nice about it and said no need to rush and the food was good too
Wonderful meal and lovely visit! Staff were all kind and attentive, and let us pick the quieter side to sit for our romantic dinner, which was very appreciated. :)
Lovely server. A view to die for. Excellent food.
Excellent meal and nice friendly service from all the staff including the chef and server.
Food was served cold and didn't taste good either.
But the ambience and the view was exceptionally good.
Don't think will return.
Amateur waiters, did not recognize birthday celebration, waited 50 minutes for appies when we went at 8pm and dining room was half empty.
First off, I'd actually rate the food at 4.25, and my reason comes due to the beet salad. Otherwise I would rate it higher.
I came in to try out their Banff Taste of Adventure festival menu, which comprised of their Juniper Beet Salad, Chaga Brined Pork Loin Chop and Pumpkin Cheesecake (Vegan Gingerbread Cake for my wife).
Overall, it was fantastic. The Beet Salad had one glaring issue with execution as it had a sprinkling of kosher salt to give a bit of contrast to the sweetness of the beets. The problem is that it was applied in clumps, which meant that one bite could be overly sweet with the beets, and then overwhelmingly salty. This made the beet salad a bit of a miss.
The Pork loin was well made, with a warm barley that provided a really nice texture contrast and was a nice change of pace from the usual potatoes or rice. Both my dish and my wife's was missing a component, the fennel and apple salad (as listed) with no explanation though. My wife stated that the pork chop was near perfect for her, and I do admit it was well cooked and brined well. The only issue I would have with this one (beside the missing apple/fennel salad) was that the brining gave the pork chop a similar texture to a ham steak to me. Still, it was flavorful.
My only issue with the Cheesecake is that it was incredibly rich and decadant. The gingersnap dust gave the dessert a really nice micro-crunchy addition to the dish, and I enjoyed it immensely as my blood sugar rose through the roof (not recommended for diabetics like me... but worth it!). The gingerbread cake, as described by my wife, wasn't overly sweet, had perfect flavors and would appeal to pretty much anyone vegan or not.
Overall, it was a great meal. The restaurant were understaffed due to a missing sick server, but the service staff managed an admirable job with a busy dining room. Careful with the parking lot as it was a skating rink at the time with nary sand or gravel and some of the chairs really need repair.
We have been coming to Banff for years and loved discovering this hidden gem. It is short drive out of town, but totally worth it. The hotel has been nicely updated and we stopped into the restaurant and were so impressed by the quality of the food and the friendly service. Great cocktails and nice wine selection. And that view of Rundle Mountain is incredible. We will be back again.
Excellent food service and atmosphere. We were never rushed and we told not to hurry be comfortable. We live in Canmore and as locals love this restaurant and it’s staff. Thank you
An superb meal and lovely staff. I’m looking forward to going again.
Pleasant service, good attention toCo id protocols, interesting menu, some lovely Canadian wines.
Great service and the views are amazing!
We had the Taste of Adventure menu. Love this place! It’s perfect for date night. The food is always amazing and you can’t beat the view.
Wonderful views, amazing food. Service staff where phenomenal
We had trouble navigating to the hotel because google maps sent us astray. Not the restaurants fault at all but when we mentioned it, they did not seem to care.
That was our first impression.
The food was great, service was not so great and they were not very willing to acommodate special requests. Not very impressed.
Max was great!!! Would definitely go there again.
Had a fantastic dinner with my wife at Juniper. Drinks were great, wife had a Moscow Mule. She loved it. We ordered the charcuterie platter, it was superb. Our mains were stellar as well. Gnocchi for my wife and Duck for me. Server was great, view was amazing! Recommend 100 percent.
great food with awesome view!!! friendly service and amazing environment to enjoy a wonderful brunch!
Excellent food in a nice quiet setting. The chef's use local ingredients and produce imaginative dishes. Would definitely eat her again when I am in Banff. Prices were reasonable for a higher end restaurant too. The view from the windows in one of the best in Banff.
Great food, limited menu due to slower season but all choices were excellent!
One of my favourite spots to take people for breakfast. Great service, awesome service and that view!!
Thank you-I will be back
My friend and I shared 2 brunch items and both were really tasty. I loved the potatoes too! We stayed at the hotel and it was nice sleeping in and rolling out of bed for breakfast. I’d like to come back for dinner next time
Location is great. Nice views. The charcuterie board was probably the best one I’ve ever had from a restaurant. However, The dinner wasn’t anything to write home about. I had the salmon which was mediocre and my aunt and sister had the burger. They both requested the burger be cooked well done (they saw someone else’s burger that was medium in the restaurant) There was nothing on the menu stating how the restaurant cooks the burger. The burgers came out extremely pink and bloody. It took awhile for the burger to be recooked and plated. They had three servers on and only 7 tables so they weren’t that busy to mess up the order. In addition, $6 for a Diet Coke is ridiculous and no free refills. No comps for the bill and no apologies from the service. Only thing I’ll return for is the charcuterie. Otherwise, don’t waste your time or $ going here.
With a smaller menu the options still provide a great choice.
Went for the Thanksgiving menu, which was well worth the $50ish dollars we paid for it. Service from Max (the bartender - I think that was his name - sorry if it's not!) was fantastic. He was super attentive and very polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend coming here for dinner, even if the Thanksgiving special isn't on.
Wonderful thanksgiving dinner and the service was outstanding! Would definitely go back!
Server was great food was great I will definitely come back for another great experience. Thank you to juniper
Great service and food! Amazing view to look for.
I love taking out of town guest here for lunch or dinner. The food is delicious and the views are great.
We came in for the Thanksgiving set menu. Amazing food and huge portions. The pumpkin trifle was so delish with the maple candy bits (they need to sell it in jars)! The Chef came by to ask us about the food and was nice enough to give us more of the maple candy bits on the side for our desserts!
Highly recommend coming for brunch or an afternoon drink. The views are stunning! The location is tucked away on the outskirts of Banff, you feel like you can exhale and take it all in without the downtown hustle and bustle. Service/staff were delightful. Will make this the go to spot when passing through!! <3
Another fabulous brunch. We always love the Juniper Benny and Salmon Benny!
We had the most delicious and tasty brunch, with a spectacular view of the mountains! We are going back in our next visit to Banff.
No better view than this one. The food was fairly good for the value (a cold coffee to be replaced and the bannock came out soggy but flavours were great). Service was great and reservation process was smooth.
The food was AMAZING. I told them ahead of time that I was proposing to my partner that morning and they gave use mimosas on the house, as well as were so incredibly kind, happy for us, and careful about revealing too much. Cannot say enough good things about this spot. If you are a lgbtq traveler we were treated very kindly and felt super comfortable.
We arrived around 115 and were told that they were not able to take any more walk in customers. The restaurant was mostly empty. Within five minutes we were able to make a reservation for two people for 130 using Open Table. We came back, and had our lunch. The entire experience was ridiculous. The hostess/server was incredibly displeased with us.
Great service. Shasuka was more like ratouille but good.
