Everything about this tiny quiet restaurant is excellent. I brought friends for lunch yesterday. They had two different vegetarian dishes while I had an excellent and unusual pasta with chicken. Service is efficient and gentle. Right next door to a quirky and equally friendly used/antiquarian bookstore.
Loved everything about this restaurant. It's a low key, unpretentious french bistro. The food was delicious, service was very attentive but unobtrusive. You could talk in a normal voice...It is moderately prices and a lovely, privately owned restaurant. We had the special soup which was a cream free vegan spinach soup and it was excellent. We also had the blackened salmon, rib eye beef. Both were large portions and excellently prepared. We had the apple crisp... like a cobble for dessert. Can't wait to return to our new find!
Lamb shank, scallops & cheese cake are always a safe bet.
Outstanding food and service in a very nice atmosphere.
I've been to K Town Bistro a number of times and find that the food and service are consistently good.
Owners were waiting the tables! Very pleasant! They are a father & son team. I had lamb shanks & they just fell off the bone. Would highly recommend
K town provides a superb dining experience. We come often and frequently bring friends, All have enjoyed the outstanding service, food and ambiance. K Town is a real winner and worth the trip if you do not live close by.
New Year’s Eve. Lovely evening— intimate, historic, friendly, elegant yet humble. Everything was really well done— delicious salads. We were just a little underwhelmed by the flavor of the pork loin and sides.
We are local and first time trying this place. Food, service , wine and the atmosphere was perfect for early New Years eve dinner. Excellent! We will come back and will recommend .We enjoyed!
Cute cozy nicely decorated restaurant with dependable food. They had a different menu for New Year’s Eve, which had some different items than their regular menu, but which also retained some of their usual fare. Complimentary bread just so-so for a French restaurant, but butter fabulous. My husband & I had the pan fried trout with garlic spinach & risotto. I lived the risotto & spinach, but found the trout a little bland. Our waiter, whose name I do not know, but who has worked there regularly, was a bit snooty. We asked for Prosecco to drink & he said they didn’t have any & seemed condescending when he told us it was a dessert wine. We are not big drinkers & we felt miffed by his attitude. This is why I gave it only 4 stars. However, still worth trying.
We went there on Christmas Day. Third time for me but first for my husband. Everything was excellent. Very nice family restaurant. We will be there soon again.
Had an excellent lunch there. The bread was wonderful and the duck breast was cooked perfectly. The dessert trio was a great choice for sharing. The service was attentive.
My husband, who grew up in France, and I went to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Everything that he ordered, he absolutely loved it, but me not so much.
Hubby had the escargot, lamb shank, and creme brulee (his favorite dessert) and it was all very good. He even said the wine was excellent. I had the brussel sprouts soup (forgot the official name) which was awesome and the swordfish which didn't agree with me, but hubby thought it was great. I finished with their chocolate mousse which was also very good.
The staff were very polite and attentive. The restaurant space was small but cozy.
We really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly return.
K Town Bistro is a real gem. Their food choices are varied and wonderfully prepared. The wait staff is professional and efficient. It is easily worth finding and enjoying. I recommend it.
Good food and lovely ambiance and attentive service.
Our family of three had a delightful Thanksgiving dinner with the turkey cooked to perfection!
Although KTown was very crowded for Thanksgiving, the evening was a wonderful experience. Food, service and ambiance were, as always, superb.
I have been dining here for years. Most recently, I ordered the Lamb Shank & Chicken Marsala - cooked to perfection. The cheese cake melts in your mouth. Staff is very attentive. Great experience & I highly recommend.
I really enjoy this neighborhood restaurant. The food and service are fantastic and its location is in a quiet location.
Lovely to spend Thanksgiving there!
We had a wonderful time at K-Town Bistro! The bistro was located among some very cute stores in Kensington, Maryland. The food was amazing and delicious! The staff was attentive and let us know they have a Sunday brunch. We will definitely be back to try out brunch! Highly recommend this bistro.
The taste of foods and service were fantastic. We will definitely back.
I love this restaurant and have from the moment it opened. I go there frequently and am never disappointed. Well, sometimes when the menu changes something I have enjoyed eating is replaced with something else I feel a twinge of regret - I am still mourning the loss of the beet salad with parsnip chips!
Seriously, though, the food is always excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. It can get noisy when it is busy, but that is not a big deal to me.
We visited for my mother’s birthday and we had a lovely lunch. Food was delicious, smoked salmon omelette, salmon cakes and a chicken pasta dish all were wonderful. Mimosas made with fresh squeezed oj was a treat. And desserts also were delish. We’ll def return not only for lunch but for dinner. Other highlights were cappuccino and Brussels sprouts soup. Really everything was top notch.
Very romantic and quiet restaurant. Food was excellent but service was even better
Wonderful meal - nicely timed - staff very attentive
Our favorite restaurant for two or four people. Excellent special dishes as well as delicious traditional meals. A true neighborhood gem.
This place always has excellent food! And is one of my top go to restaurants.
What a quiet little gem. I had been there years ago, but somehow forgot that this lovely little restaurant is in my own neighborhood. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is perfect for catching up with friends because you can actually hear each other!
Fabulous restaurant, great food, great service, we really enjoy dining at this neighborhood restaurant.
I ordered celery soup and delicious but the lettuce in my salad was warm. Bummer
Had a lovely birthday lunch there. Food was yummy and service was great. They even brought cute little glasses of dessert wine to celebrate. Lunch entrees were really good and the desserts were delicious!
The food was very good but it's the service that makes this restaurant a stand out. One member of our party commented that the entire team (including the owner) were so focused on each of the tables that it felt like being in an upscale restaurant in DC. This is a local gem!
The scallops were fantastic
what a wonderful place! i enjoyed a ladies luncheon there so much on wed that i made a dinner
rreservation for my entire family on friday night!
I haven been to K town numerous times, and am usually very pleased. No this time. The New york Steak was big, tough, grimly and rather tasteless even though the cooking was good. A smaller, higher quality piece of merat would have been much preferred.
Food, value and service were outstanding, as usual. The only problem was that the restaurant was relatively warm. I assume the air conditioning was not as effective as usual. We were slightly embarrassed since we had invited another couple to join us for dinner, and had told them how wonderful K-Town is.
Good was very poor quality. Tuna was flavorless as was the beef stroganoff. Service was good. Won’t go back. Had been there a couple of years ago and it was quite good. Has there’s been a change of ownership?
Very average experience. The French onion soup was the best thing on the menu, at least from what we ordered.
Parking has never been a problem for me. Staff is very welcoming, with good service throughout my meals there. Prices are reasonable for the quality, but one can easily spend upwards of $40 per person for a three-course dinner with a glass of wine. A semi-hidden gem.
