Kamei Baru Japanese Seafood Restaurant
We introduce Kamei Baru.
A big menu where you can get lost but well organized. Food nicely presented and very fresh. Rolls are delicious, a good value.
Excellent good and friendly service. Restaurant doesn’t look great from the outside but don’t walk away. Not Japanese style inside- more US grill rom with sports TV. Food though is very good and very Japanese.
Probably the worst service in the city. They even attached a service charge to our bill of 6 people even though our food took an hour to come out. No apologies, nothing. I would avoid and go around the block to the organic sushi place.
Great service, the sashimi was beautiful as was the rolls. We are vacationing for a month around the corner and plan to be back!!
Great service and friendly staff
Friendly and efficient service
Would highly recommend to anyone!
Servers are friendly and modest. Nice place to gather friends.
Sushi was a bit fishy. Good service.
Friendliest staff, quick service, amazing menu and lovely ambience. Great place for a group outing or a date! Staff here pay a lot of attention to guests, it was nice to feel very welcomed.
The Restaurant played loud rap music on Valentine’s Day which did not match the atmosphere.
The fire alarm was on the whole time we were having lunch, so it was loud and uneasy to talk.
The food was alright, sauces were excessive on every dish, and the deep fried chicken wings were overly oily.
Portion size was valuable at the price, just the quality was so so.
Service was good, attentive and pleasant
Fusion bar / resto / pub right next to a theatre oriented to Japanese fusion food so it is modern. Food good, drinks excellent, hip, could be better, no real complaints. Cosmetically a little chaotic & run-down chic but not in a bad way.
Love this place. Never disappoints. High quality food.
Got many dishes, Including a dine out set menu. They forgot to give us the dessert. They gave us our bill and we paid. Didn't realize it till the next day. Sad.
Food is ordinary. We had the Dine Out vancouver menu and felt the $35 value was not worth it. I was disappointed.
I had the combination box-the food was not enjoyable ,small portions and very expensive. Chicken teriyaki- a small piece whit no sauce on it over rice...no veggies or sprouts. Piece of blood orange which was barely one bite big. Spicy tuna...it was so fishy tasting that i couldnt eat more than the first piece.Tempura very thick battered. Didnt even come with pickled ginger (did get it once we asked for it).
No refill on tea
Definitely wont be back.
The server was rude when she cannot explain their menu to me. The premier sake flight was over-priced. In fact, all food items were over-priced. I am paying 3-4 star price for an 2-3 star restaurant.
It is like a bistro /bar but at high sit-down restaurant prices.
Fun time and good food
Average Japanese cuisine. Food has a great presentation for sure.
The only Japanese sports resto-bar in Vancouver with a late night happy hour. Oishi!
The staff are fantastic and the food is delicious! There's a lot of options from sushi to ramen to bowls and bento boxes. There is omething for everyone.
Staff seemed to be running in circles - we had to follow up on our order more than once. We didn't get certain things that we ordered - when we followed up, they actually brought us the wrong dish. Then charged us for the missing item :(
Food was very tasty! Would recommend, but it wasn't the upscale place we saw in the online images - more of a sports bar - lots of TVs playing "the game". A little distracting for a date night. Yummy food made up for all of the night's shortcomings!
Interesting combo menu. We appreciated.
We were in town for SeaWheeze and this restaurant was recommended to us. We liked it so much that we went back a second night. Food was awesome, atmosphere was great and service was over the top! Both visits were Exceptional.
It was a really nice dinner. The food is amazing! I would come again with all my friends!!!!
Came in after 9pm to have dinner, not very much of a choice for dinner, this place is good for late night snack and drinks. Had the 10pvs chicken wings special but did not realized that there were a charge for $1/- for choosing flavor, didn't state on menu. Had the honey mustard wings not too bad.
Overall food were tasted ok.
went in before a movie at scotiabank theater. perfect option for sushi and other japanese goodies. service was on top of things.
Not bad, but not impressive as well. You can get much more in downtown Vancouver for the same price point. Pretty slim lunch menu and food that is just OK in my opinion.
Great space, tasty food, great prices!
Has a decent selection of rolls with a good mix of ingredients.
Buen restaurante, nos gusto mucho comer ahi. Comida casera sana
Very good service, waited a bit long for couple dishes, but server cane by couple times to apologize. Food is good, not the best, but atmosphere+ service made up the difference.
The food is always good here. A great place to come for lunch but a little on the pricey side. You have to expect that from nice restaurants downtown Vancouver.
I enjoyed the raw oysters! Food were all clean tasting, sake was superb! I would definitely return. ...but you reserve, it's usually busy.
Great food great value
Amazing Japanese Cuisine! Love Kamei Baru!!! Highly recommended!!
We were in a rush and they accommodated our rush orders - the food arrived very promptly. The only thing to improve would be the spicy tuna. It was far more sweet than spicy, for something we expected to be spicy.
Great sashimi! Not alot of unique rolls on offering, and the menu was a bit messy/divey; but the quality of the sockeye sashimi will make me remember the evening.
Had the eel Bento box for lunch. Very good quality food and excellent service.
