When we arrived for our 7:30pm reservation the restaurant wasn’t too crowded but still energetic. Our waiter while friendly, stopped paying attention to us shortly after we placed our order and more attention to some of the larger groups next to us. We ordered 5 dishes in total. It took us 3 hours to receive 4 of the 5 dishes, the last one never came. The manager did comp us our 2 glasses of cava and took out the 5th dish we never got (nothing out of normal expectations in our situation). The dishes we did get were very good. The vibe of the restaurant was more clubbish than we would have liked, particularly given how expensive it is and the poor service. The value for money wasn’t there. We will not return.
My boyfriend and I wanted to have a date night at one of the hottest restaurants in Yorkville. Kasa Moto has a good reputation but we were definitely disappointed. Some of the food lacked flavor and some of the food was delicious. I found a lack of consistency in it, which was disappointing. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the service was great, but for a $200 meal, this would not be my first choice at all.
Great food, as always, but service felt rushed. Our reservation was at 5:00. At 5:20, the server told us that there was a reservation for the particular table we were sitting at, at 6:00. And we would have to move tables. We had already ordered our drinks, so we had to move to another table, which was a bit odd, why sit us there in the first place?
And the whole evening felt rushed, the server kept asking us if we wanted to order and order more. We left at 7:00 and ordered drinks and more then enough food and dessert. Not sure what the rush was, it was only a Tuesday evening, not a super busy night.
Good food - pretty expensive! Wine by glass was $21. 4 Oz Wagyu beef $98. Watch what you order. Can easily be over $100 a person. Food really delicious though!
Horrible service. Second time in a row. Not worth the price, won’t be back.
Made reservations for Valentines Day with my girlfriend. The service is exceptional and the concierge arranged to have a dozen roses at our table when we arrived. As promised the roses were there and my girlfriend was pleasantly surprised. We had a few courses Izakaya style. The oysters, caviar, maki sushi, tuna ceviche, beef tenderloin, and deserts were exquisite. Our server was also very friendly and very accommodating for my girlfriends allergies. He made sure that each dish and drink was safe for her. We had a great table nestled by the Old Yorkville walkway and had a romantic night out. Will come here again and recommend this place to family and friends.
I ate there before and LOVED it! This time was for Valentine's Day. The food was so so, they rushed us through the meal, and we felt it was over-priced for the quality of the food.
I would have been happy to pay that price if it was the same as I had there before, but this was very mediocre.
plastic in our cocktail from a cocktail stick that wasnt ours, forgot to bring our last coarse
I always enjoy dining here but have to say the sashimi bowl was subpar today compared to other times I've had it. Ditto the miso soup. Chocolate stone always good and today no exception. Service very attentive and friendly.
Food doesn’t worth the price, a bit disappointed.... waiter didn’t put through our order so had to wait...
Wonderful food and service!!! Best espresso martini (copperhead) in the city!
Came here for Winterlicious. The tempura shrimp maki was ok but had too much rice. The cod was slightly overcooked but tasted nice, only complaint was that it was served cool not hot. The best thing on the menu was the raspberry opera cake. Delicious! Service and ambiance was great. The food overall was good but nothing extraordinary to note.
We came here for winterlicious, the food was good but the portion was way too small, including both starter and the main course. The service was average, server was on rush forever and the music was loud.
food was phenomenal, atmosphere really nice, service not very good at all.
It was nice fancy restaurant located at trendy Yorkville area. Food was not worth it for $52.00.
Server is friendly enough but I never come back again.
The flavours were quite extreme on the spectrums. Karrage was very salty, and the jasmine cake had the berry jam which was extremely sour.
Attended for Winterlicious and had modest expectations in light of that.
Nonetheless, wasn't impressed: service was sparse and uninformed, portions were miniscule and the food was nothing to write home about. Sampled many of the dishes with our party, the Miso-black cod had 3 tiny pieces (less than a forkful each) with only a hint of miso and no sear...cooks mailed it in on that one. Steak was flavourful and well executed with a nice chimichurri, but nothing exceptional. Asian slaw was a weak call-out to Susur (with a pool of vinegar at the bottom of the dish).
Not rushing back.
The food was not worth the price and one of our dishes didn't come for so long we had to cancel it and our drinks didn't taste good and I had to send my drink back. The service was okay but our waiter switched in the middle of dinner and didn't inform us at all that he was not going to be serving us anymore so we were ordering from just anyone walking by.
Experience was poor overall because the food was mediocre even though the restaurant charges three dollar signs $$ on Yelp, seating was cramped when the restaurant area was huge, and when booking the reservations on Opentable I inputted that it was my girlfriend's birthday in the "special occasions" section but this was not mentioned or acknowledged by Kasa Moto.
These are the negative reasons to why I would not recommend this restaurant or have a second visit in the future.
Our server was very bubbly, fun, and friendly..Definitely added to the experience! The food was amazing, came here for winterlicious. Really enjoyed the tataki!
Wonderful Winterlicious experience. Amazing food and great service in a beautiful setting. will definitely return
Vito manager rocks. Restaurant better now. A bit pricy for some stuff but in end a top spot.
This is our second time dining here. Sean provided friendly, helpful and efficient service. We enjoyed the small plates and were given some direction on the order in which they could be brought to the table. We said we were fine with any order. The food was delicious, the only issue being that the dishes were brought too quickly. We were in and out in an hour. There were too many dishes on our small table at one time and we barely started to enjoy one plate when another showed up. I would return but would ask to slow the pace and perhaps choose the order of presentation. Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable meal with excellent service.
It was fantastic until our sever disappeared before we could finish our mains. No one checked on us until we flagged someone down - ruined a special night by being careless
Food was amazing, fresh, tasty, each dish was delicious, service excellent and they were very careful with food allergies and personal preferences.
I would say the downstairs tables are too cold at this time of year so not enjoyable to eat there the upper split level has booths and they are big and not efficient use of space, but the only place I like to sit....however booths are family style and harder to talk with friends....the back is too bright and no ambiance feels casual more like a lunch place, back not for me. I like the full dining experience, delicious food, great ambiance, great service for the the full dining experience. I think smaller tables and more of them would create a much cozier ambiance and need to do something with the lower level in the winter blankets are not the answer, need to insulate those windows.....
Lastly I would say it is expensive but the food is excellent!!
Excellent food quality, great selection, the meats are amazing, and also the appetizers, although the price range is on the high high side, but for special occasions it is well worth it
I have been there several times on different occasions, and every time I have had a great experience, will come back again soon.
Service was inconsistent across the various dishes we ordered. Some dishes was over 30 min late. The presentation was lackluster, soup was cold and served in unwashed bowls, and the cake for dessert was bitter, almost spoiled tasting. Would not recommend.
new year eve's food is so bad and expensive
Went for NYE and the service was rather poor. We flagged an allergy (that is severe) and somehow it still got missed resulting in a friend consuming the food and consequently experiencing a severe reaction. Needless to say that put a damper on the evening.
It was okay.
Disappointed to see changes to the menu because of a “new chef”. Since when does the chef decide the menu. Especially to remove staple items such as the hamachi and spicy tuna on rice. Overall great service and atmosphere. Will not be returning due to chcanges to menu
Based on the prices I would have to say this is special occasion place but it really shouldn’t be the food is nice but not enough to fill one up we came for lunch time spent $200 and were hungry after and although I get the quality is there it has to be a little more for the money ... overall I ha s no desire to come here again ... you can go to the four seasons eat like a king for this amount of money ! Sorry
Fresh wonderful cuisine. When you order a simple tuna roll and get blown away you know the rest is going to be amazing and it is. When you can feed extreme foodies from Vancouver here and make them happy it's also a 👍🏼👍🏼
Lots of great food options to choose from.
Went for lunch with a client - we had a great table away from the noise of main dining room. Food was all great - I reckon my favorite was the o-toro.
Service is slow and most of our food never arrived. We landed up cancelling food and leaving.
Delicious. Well prepared and presented
Excellent sushi in Toronto!
Awesome meal again at KasaMoto Even brought a nice dessert for my birthday. Nice touch
