Tried their summerlicious and it was so good!!
I go to Kasa quite regularly and the service and overall experience is always great. Although, last night I witnessed extremely horrible service. I made a reservation for 10:30 pm to grab late night drinks with a friend. Open table had the option to make this reservation and when I got there for my reservation, I was told all of the tables were full and I would not get a table that night. Slightly confused at how you can allow people to make reservations through open table but not actually save them a table for when they arrive... Really disappointed in last nights experience at Kasa
We reserved at 6, arrived on time, there were a million tables available at the time but reception claimed they are waiting for our table to clear. So they ushered us to the bar side which was full at the time, so we waited awkwardly waiting for an empty spot at the bar. What's shocking is that they took a full 35 minutes to clear the table and re-set up, oh we asked every 10min or so. I don't know what in the world they were doing, half of the waitresses gathered and socialized at reception area.
Don't even get me started with the actual dining experience. Taking order took forever, food took forever to get on the table. Mind the restaurant wasn't even close to being full. Yes when we started eating it was around 730. The scallop is way overpriced.. $28 for two minuscule skewers. Plus it was basically raw, I took the risk, am alive. Only upside was the drinks were pretty good.
Just never go again.. not even for the beautiful patio.. service is horrible, and food below average.
I reserved outdoor seating, but was given indoor seating instead without any intent of making up for it given to me
I had mentioned it was my wife's bday and nothing special was done I had asked you to notify Vito and let him know. Obviously I can't rely on open table when comes to special requests.
Reservation for 5 on the patio midweek in the summer was achievable despite the place being super busy. Seated at a nice little private section for dinner but not for intimate gatherings at the patio. Food was amazing, you really can't go wrong with most of what they have especially their rise/noodle dishes. Everything was served tapa style perfect for sharing with a small group of friends. Drinks were expensive as expected, dress smart casual.
Slow as hell service and mediocre food.
Crispy Gyoza and Cherry Blossom cocktail were perfectly delicious! The patio was lovely and hidden from the city.
Awful experience in Kasa Moto. I got main course 20 Mins before my partner had his main course. Never go back!! And we will not recommend any my friends go to this restaurant.
Great patio and wonderful food !! The sushi here is next to next level
The food is underwhelming. Patio wasn’t given despite requesting a week prior to the reservation. If not able to accommodate they should say so from the get go rather then giving false hope.
It will be nice if the server can ask what desert we want as opposed to just assume and serve us whatever replacement they have next time. Otherwise the atmosphere is great the DJ did a great job.
I had lunch with a friend last weekend. The rooftop patio was beautiful! Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We waited almost an hour for someone to take our orders after we asked at least 3 servers walking by. We never met our actual server, it was always someone different coming to fill our water and take away our plates, and we always had to flag a server down to ask for our next dish, to ask when our second entree was coming (which they forgot about), for our bill, and to pay. We were there for over 3 hours. Luckily the weather and rooftop was nice.
The food was disappointing. The meat was dry, the noodles were very greasy, and there was so much raw onion in our salad. We had asked what flavours of mochi were available for dessert. The server talked about several flavours, but could not guarantee that we would get the flavours we wanted. In fact the sever said that the mochi on our plate might be all the same flavour! Anyway, we never got to try the mochi, because a server told us it was all melted and that we could order something else.
I was very disappointed. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
Kasa Moto has an incredible roof top patio. Great vibe, good food and friendly staff. A must anytime of year but especially on a nice warm day up on the patio.
Sure had a great time. We were seating promptly for our reservation. Drinks, apps and mains were fantastic and came out perfectly timed. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall a really great meal. I was a bit worried about some of the bad reviews, but I didn’t see anything wrong here at all.
The food is very good. Recommend crispy squid and wagyu fried rice.
Inspired by upscale Japanese restaurant chains like Zuma, Kasamoto attempts and fails to deliver a lasting impression. Most food was served lukewarm at best. Our sushi never came --- we asked to have it canceled after waiting for it through all other courses. Waiting another 15+ mins just to get the bill. Ridiculously low levels of food quality and service (through the servers were very polite and knowledgeable when they finally got around to your table) for the prices. If you're tipsy and there to impress a date, sure --- you might have reasons to not focus on the food. But if you're there to enjoy high quality Japanese cuisine, look elsewhere.
We went for our anniversary, and won't be going again. Initially, we were seated outside, which maybe fine if you want a loud atmosphere and people watching, but it was clearly not our intent. Thankfully, we could get a table inside, which was much nicer. But still: TVs showing sports in the middle of the dining room? We ordered a few dishes: fried rice, which had a strong taste of the burned garlic, a grilled lobster that didn't really taste like lobster. The wagyu tempura comes with a dip that is too cheesy and not very refined. The crispy tofu was our favorite. The shishito peppers were wayyyyy hotter than they should be, with at least 30-40% of the peppers hot enough to make us cry. And with the slow service, we were out of water / drinks most of the time.
I have been many times before. Service and food is typically great.
Our server this visit was terrible. Not attentive or genuine by any means. Did not follow up at any point. Had to be asked for certain things multiple times. Wait was extremely long and he did not acknowledge it at all.
Food had to be sent back twice to due temperate and quality.
The last time I had been to Kasa Moto was last November and everything was excellent. Great drinks selection, great portions for food, great service. The impression it left was so fantastic that I could not wait to go back and try their summer patio. This time however, the experience was awful. The noise level was far too loud, I could barely hear my friends. We asked to move away from the speaker and were sat under another speaker. The drink selection was limited and far more expensive than it had been previously. Similarly, the food portions went down by a lot which was extremely disappointing. The only positive was our friendly waiter but I will not be coming back to Kasa Moto. Cutting costs and corners leaves a terrible impression!
Great outdoor summer dining and drinks spot. Make sure to request main patio seating.
I had a good time there. I'm just a little disappointed because I was expecting something amazing. The music is very loud, it was hard to hear each other. The food is good but not great and the plates are so small.
Our waiter was nice, but very busy .
I don't really see the point to speak to 3 different people to find your table ( one inside, one in front of the stairs and one upstairs) . I mention 3 times that it was a special occasion, but nobody seems to care ( I was just expecting a ''happy birthday').
It was a nice experience but I will not recommend it to my friends or clients.

Food was poor at best!
It was our first time visiting and we were out celebrating my Husband’s birthday. We weren’t too familiar with how to order or what some of the items were on the menu, our waiter was outstanding. He assisted us in navigating the menu without making us feel silly for not knowing how to order or what some items were. His suggestions were memorable and the service was exceptional. I had made my reservation through OpenTable and just wasn’t sure if my note about his birthday mattered, but we were pleasantly surprised when they brought a complimentary dessert. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.
Beautiful decor, great location and very good food; however service was notably slow. After being seated, it took over 20 minutes for our waiter to visit the table to greet us and take our drink order. Same throughout the meal and when requesting the bill. We had to flag someone over.
One of our favourite Yorkville Restaurants.
An excellent menu which they do a great job with.
I love the creativity.
I was recommended this restaurant by my daughter, I was hesitant because I’m not a sushi and sashimi type of man. I was very pleasantly surprised and the food was very good. We celebrated our 25th anniversary and both my wife and I enjoyed the restaurant, food and our server was excellent; he explained the various dishes and also recommended others. It was a very enjoyable experience. Thank you Kasa Moto
When booked i mentioned i have a birthday, didn't receive even Congratulations from anyone. Other places bring small cake or something and say Happy Birthday... here was nothing. A bit disappointed with lack of attention to details. Other than that we love this place.
Had a great time although our waygu steak took over 45 mins to come out ..... we were just sitting there with empty drinks :( kinda sucks but otherwise food was great
We would´ve appreciated if the restaurant would´ve told us before that they were running out of food. We couldn´t order several things and we couldn´t have dessert for our special occasion. The server tried to compensate so that was good but I felt that what I paid wasn´t worth it.
We dined at Kasa Moto for a joint Father’s Day and Birthday celebration because we have heard a lot of good things about the restaurant. We made our reservation and were excited to check it out. When we arrived to the restaurant on Sunday, we had difficulty looking for the main entrance because the main restaurant is closed. We did not expect that we would be dining on the roof top, which was open air and it was a sweltering hot day to be dining outside. Had we known that we would be dining outside, then we either would have made other plans or have been ready to be dining under the heat of the sun. The dishes were very delicious and would have been quite enjoyable if we were able to focus on the food, and not having to constantly hydrate ourselves. Will only come back if we can dine inside, and not on the roof top. Should have a choice or at least be warned about outside dining.
We were on the patio, which is a very nice and quiet place.
The service is good, definitely above average.
The food is very good: we particularly enjoyed the wagyu beef and fried rice, they are exceptional!
The charred veggies and desserts are good but pretty common though. And the chopsticks could be real ones in such a place (not wooden sticks that you need to break!), also because the wood taste undermines such good food!
Overall it’s a bit pricey but we’d still recommend this place to try the specialties, and we’ll certainly come again with friends.
I made a reservation last Saturday night for 9:30pm and as soon as we got there, we had to wait for an hour to get our table which was very inconvenience. The staff wasn’t very helpful either and was keep tell us to go by the bar and we’ll come and pick you up which didn’t happen. The place is nice good atomospher.
Great experience! Exceptional food and awesome ambiance. Will definitely be back.
Given I sent a private note to the restaurant I was t going to post however since they didn’t have the courtesy to even acknowledge it, I’m now posting publicly.
I don’t even know where to begin.
What’s the point of writing a note with a reservation when it’s not read or honoured?
We were asked if we were celebrating anything: specified birthday dinner in reservation...
I asked for two glasses of sparkling/bubbles to be brought to the table once we sat down...nothing.
I informed the restaurant we wanted to do the tasting menu...there shouldn’t have even been menus on the table (granted we DID switch from outside to inside but any notes should have transferred and been attended to).
Our server didn’t understand what “omakase” meant... in fact he described it to the table beside us as “share plates”.
We were charged 150$/per person for 6 courses. One of which was miso soup and the other a salad and dessert so THREE sushi/sashimi dishes...
Nothing on the regular menu would have been that expensive ...not even the 36 pieces of sashimi which we certainly didn’t have.
We dined back in February...asked for a tasting menu. We were charged 125$/per person for 9 courses, most of which were sharing plates and off the menu specialties...
If the restaurant was too busy with the patio open to accommodate us They should have said so and we would have ordered off the regular menu, spent HALF of what we did and eaten MORE food.
We were looking forward to another amazing experience and had this been our first we certainly would have never come back.
FYI TAPAS means sharing, not omakase.
Always great. Love the food!
Meeting my longtime friend from the UK here was a perfect way to show her Yorkville. Our server was super friendly and fun and the dj spinning tunes was awesome. Such a fun evening.
We didn't even bother to stay. We had a reservation for 6 pm. I was made to confirm it 3 times (2 x email, 1 by text). Upon arrival, I was second in line to be welcomed by the hostesses. A man came in after me and the hostesses ignored me to serve him. When one of them decided to attend to me, she told me I didn't have a reservation. I told her I confirmed it 3 times. She didn't believe me, so I showed her my phone. After rolling some eyes, she found a table, let me know when my party of 3 needed to be finished with the table, and led me to a table at the isolated, musty back of the restaurant. We left the restaurant and dined on the patio of Sassafraz instead.
