    We drove almost an hour to dine here and it was worth it. The menu is extensive and has some delightful creative twists. Whether you choose to try something different or go with Japanese restaurant 'standards', you won't be disappointed. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious -- and we three diners were able to sample a lot of different things by ordering to share. Our server, Kabia, was charming and gracious. Recommend highly.

    Lame hostess gave us the worst table they had even though the non-bar area was empty. We complained but were told they were reserved. An hour or so later when we finished only one table had a customer. I come here often but this maybe the last time.

    The food as usual was outstanding! The room is as sleek as ever and we come here every time we’re in Kona… but was disappointed this visit when we really felt rushed… we got there before our 7:30 reservation and still rushed… I couldn’t believe when a high end place like this brought out our entrees when we still had appetizers! Not good! When I pay a lot for dinner I like to space out the meal… then the waiter brings over the dessert menu while we’re still eating our entrees.. very disappointed in this visit

    Food was good, but not outstanding. Appetizers were very good, but Sushi rolls not as good as expected for Hawaii. We did not order entrees, which have made a difference. Dessert was good. Would not order fried ice cream with pound cake. Very little flavor. Service was decent, they were low on servers and ours was working very hard. Overall good. In a shopping center so no view.

    We truly enjoyed our experience here. The sushi was wonderful, we highly recommend getting the 6 crunchy roll where the chef picks the fish for you. Our toddler was having a hard time and the staff made sure to get his food out right away, as well as he very tolerance of his toddler antics. We are coming back again and hope you will too!

    Great to be back We hosted our friends Howard and Janice last night - so grateful to Bebelyn manager for setting up this night to be the one that it was and to our No. 1 server Maverick We enjoyed great martinis and wine and the spectacular Ono Tataki (which we are delighted to see back on the menu) and the seafood trio. And front row seats to the hula show in Keauhou mall Great food and service - we are here for a while and will definitely be back to enjoy our Kenichi ohana

    We enjoyed our meal at Kenichi. Our server recommended a special sushi roll and we ordered it along with another and loved them both. We decided on bananas foster for desert which we did not enjoy. The small banana was topped by something weird, supposedly vanilla ice cream, and swimming in sauce. A complete waste of money.

    The food was just ok. The waiter was distracted and so service was lacking. It is in a strip mall and so the setting was just ok. Underwhelming considering the price.

    I’ve been here a bunch of times…Last night was My Best Experience Ever!!! From the second we walked in till the end, service was off the hook! Maverick was an awesome host! He deserves 10 stars! Food was fast, hot & delicious with every bite! From the appetizers, entree & dessert, we enjoyed it all! We will for sure be back again!

    We always have fabulous food and beverages at Kenichi! Tonight was no exception. Maverick gave excellent service. He is extremely knowledgeable about the menu and specials. We look forward to our next evening at Kenichi!

    The food is wonderful, we have been coming here for years. Sushi is delicious and there is always a great special roll! The butter noodles are the best as well as the mac nut crusted lamb chops for those who desire entree style😊

    Food was good but service was awkward and inconsistent. We received items we did not order and didn't get items we had ordered. The waiter wanted to know up front if we would split the bill or if it would be on one. Reasonable request, but it was approached like we were doing a shady deal in the ally. Also ordered a special roll that cost 25% more than other items that were comparable on the menu. So stick to the menu, and watch what you order ad what they bill you.

    Okay place. Expected better. Walked in (with a reservation) and asked for a booth, we’re told booths were reserved for specific people. This option was not given when making the reservation, which I made a month in advance. We were given a table near the entry, which I don’t like, but our server was very attentive and accommodating throughout. Food was okay, nothing special, prices high but not excessive. It was my wife’s birthday and I informed the restaurant in advance. Nothing was acknowledged or done. Overall, several irritating things about the experience, yes, small things but handled poorly by the people there. We were visiting from off island and I chose this place to celebrate my wife’s birthday. If we go back to Kona, this will not be our dining choice.

    The appetizers were very nice; salmon roll was excellent; great pork ribs (albeit messy to eat); dim sum very good. Entree salmon was outstanding; mochico fish special was very good. Chocolate lava dessert was superb (could use more raspberry coulis); bananas foster was terrible, virtually inedible. The wood seating was uncomfortable; terrible lighting (way to dim). Very busy, crowded Sat. night, so service was less efficient than usual.

    Damien took excellent care of us. Had the carpaccio which was amazing. Their special role was really good and sashimi was incredibly fresh. Highly recommend.

    As always, a wonderful meal! We love the avocado macnut salad. The best avos on island. The carpaccio is a delicacy. Our server, Virginia, was professional and friendly. Kenichis servers are always a step above those at most restaurants. Don’t hesitate to make reservations. A great place for happy hour and for a girls get together.

    Thanks to Open Table we got in on a Friday at Kenichi's ! The best place in Kona on Friday night but you have to reserve your table earlier in the week.
