    The restaurant looks neglected for the “high end” Japaneese it is trying to deliver. Many parts of the menu are great, BUT they choose to serve Escolar/“buttefish” which is toxic and NEVER even offered in Japan.

    The service from Stacey and the rest of the staff was impeccable as always. The team @ Ki always makes my guests feel welcomed and they do everything possible to ensure we are all very well taken care of. The food @ Ki is top notch.     Terrible experience. Waited over 50 mins for food. Waiter ignored us. My lunch partner specific ordered food without sesame seeds and the salad came with sesame seeds. The tables next to us arrived 20 mins after us and received 15 mins before we did while we ordered the lunch special (salmon bento and California rolls and a seaweed salad. Terrible service and had to rush to eat the food. The service didn't check on us after the food was served. Didn't have time to eat the meal. Comped half less than half of the meal. The sea weed salad never returned without sesame seeds.

    I reserved a table for 6:00 before we went to the theatre. We entered through the BCE entrance and was met by a very unfriendly hostess. She told the person to seat us at a high top bar table while the restaurant was empty. Even the person who sat us has to ask the hostess again which table she was taking us to. I asked to be moved which the other lady did and sat us at a very nice table by the window. Our server Jasmine was great and the rest of the service was great. First impressions are important and the hostess made us feel like we shouldn’t be there.

    My husband and i absolutely love Ki, hes a sushi lover and this place is our go to for special occasions. The food is always fresh and the flavors are superb. The sweet potato soup was absolutely delicious; we wanted more. Thank you Ki for making my husband's bday a great one.

    Met a friend here for lunch. Originally they had us seated at the same booth as another couple but were very accommodating when we asked to move. The waiter was excellent. Quiet but catered to our needs. Food as always, was excellent.

    The food and service were outstanding. We ordered a mix of sushi and sashimi and I have NEVER tasted such quality!! The ambiance was a bit noisy for a work lunch and we were at a high top table which is always a bit less comfortable IMO but the staff and quality of meal were 10/10.

    It was much too loud to have a conversation with our guests. We had to shout to hear each other. The sushi was good but the miso soup was disappointing and the shrimp tempura was small prawns only... not as expected.

    Delicious food and great service. We visited at 6:15 pm and it was very full near the entrance around the bar and very noisy. The dinner area was tucked in, which helped with all the business by the bar. Overall a lovely dinner.

    I was very surprised since I’ve always had a nice time at Ki. The service wasn’t great (I’m talking manager stepping in since it was clear that we’d sat for so long without a drink or a glass of water). But we were always out of things - even water for the table which was refilled once after we’d paid, despite glasses sitting empty for the whole meal), flagging people down for cocktails, which were flat (figuratively and literally - a sparkling cocktail was flat since all the components were opened long before and so the drink was not good). Food was mediocre - the manager suggested bringing a sort of tasting menu for us. I was still quite hungry at the end and the food we had was only so so. All that for an expensive meal. Maybe it was an off night and I’ll go back - but only because I’ve been before and had a great time with great food and service.

    The food was incredible. However, the washrooms were dirty and not sure if the server had too many tables, but the service was bad and not prompt. I.e. we asked for Wasabi and ginger and waited 10 minutes to receive it

    This place has gone downhill…. We were sitting inside next to the bar, and the carpet stinks like a man’s washroom near the urinals …. The carpet is so old ….     Ki's food, as always, is the very best sushi I can find in Toronto. However, the wait staff left something to be desired this time. For the first time I had a waiter who was really slow and not very attentive (forgetting a dish, not bringing requested beverages). Then, by the people who bring the food out (who for some reason is never the waiter). The girl just dropped the plate with casual indifference and didn't explain the dishes as they usually do. This lady was a rather young person who gave the clear impression the job was beneath her. When pressed, she'd reluctantly tell you the dishes' names with no further embellishment. In addition, the restaurant smelled a little sour and is starting to look worn too. For the first time of many dozens of Ki meals, I walked away somewhat disappointed - not by the food, but by the service and the atmosphere. Hope they can fix this and come back to the excellence we've come to expect there.
