At King and Duke, we showcase locally sourced ingredients through simple, yet focused hearth cooking. Our goal is not to manipulate food, but to accentuate the natural flavors of our products through slower methods of cooking and the smoke of the wood fire. Through this primitive technique, constantly moving and manipulating the live fire, we invest exacting attention to the preparation of each and every dish.

Our managing partner, Ford Fry, named the restaurant after two characters in Huckleberry Finn, “The King” and “The Duke," a pair of grifters who ‘put on airs’ and pretended to be royalty, when in fact they were a couple of hillbillies who lived in the woods. With our slightly mischievous ways ☺, a huge focus on quality, yet a primitive cooking style and down-to earth atmosphere, Chef Fry felt like it was the perfect name for our newest restaurant.

As always a great experience. Appetizers were great. Steak Tartare differently different, but the rib caps, peaches, and fritters were excellent. Duck, and chicken we're cooked perfectly, and chocolate candy bar dessert was outstanding

King and Duke is our favorite place to eat. Food is always outstanding, service is fabulous, atmosphere is perfect. If the weather allows, I definitely recommend dining outside. The outdoor area is awesome! This evening I had the trout that is currently on the menu. It was superb! Best dessert..... you must get the sticky toffee pudding to share!

My wife and I read up the reviews before we chose it at the least moment for a friendly lunch date with another couple. We’d in fact advised another nice place that we knew (and the gentleman - the wife couldn’t make it at last moment for health reasons - was already at our earlier advised venue when we called to suggest a change in of venue to Kings + Dukes after reading the reviews). It proved to be everything it was reviewed to be! Great and innovative quisine, great taste and awesome service. I could stay on the issue of service. It’s great. Go there and ask for guidance from the waiter and see the reaction. You’d love everything about this place. We did.

Local ingredients star in a menu that is interesting and creative while still being hearty and approachable. It has a foodie vibe without a hint of pretense. High end beef dishes are on the pricey side, so if you really want a steak, I'd go to a steakhouse. But if you're looking for more variety and thoughtful menu preparation, this is an excellent choice.

The service was AMAZING! Our waiter (Kendrick) was so great and made the evening wonderful. For the price of the food I thought you would get a little more. The appetizers were amazing, but the entrees were small and expensive.

The 2 simple appetizers were beyond bad and our service was so slow the manager came over to our table. Just the worst. Will never go back

This restaurant really let us down. Food was SUPER delayed, over 90 minutes to get main course delivered. Overpriced for overall quality, really disappointed.

Great location for a Sunday brunch. While menu is a little bit limited, food is of good quality. Service by Patrick was amazing, even more so when it is his first day at King and Duke. Very attentive, friendly, warm and knows the menu really well - gave some really good recommendations.

We visited King + Duke for our anniversary dinner. Every person that greeted us told us happy anniversary and they even printed special menus that said “Happy Anniversary” on the front. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and had some great suggestions. The food was wonderful. I would highly recommend! The only negative, if I had to give one, was that the tables are very close together and you had to work hard not to listen into your neighbor’s conversation. Still had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

Usually our favorite go-to restaurant, this visit unfortunately failed to impress our friends who were first-time diners there. Food itself was fantastic as usual, however it took over 50 minutes for our entrees to arrive after appetizers- as we watched two parties near us finish their entire meal and leave.

This restaurant exudes Southern Hospitality... The manager on duty opened the door for us, and the hostess was gracious with a smile. Our server, Chaz, made our experience enjoyable without being pretentious or overly attententive, made some great recommendations, and didn't ignore my 3 year old son. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a 24' long wood grill hearth and a gorgeous patio dining area. I had the best fish sandwich I ever enjoyed, and the fries alongside were solid. I recommend this restaurant for quality food and exceptional service.

King and duke always has incredible dishes rich in flavor. Something that might sound basic is turned into an extraordinary dish as they cook with local, seasonal ingredients and with fire. Staff is always kind and attentive. Cocktails are creative and well balanced with fun names too!

Great Friday evening dining on the patio. Johnathan, our server was pretty cool. The heirloom tomato salad was simply, tastefully delicious...that required additional popovers to sop up the buttermilk dressing.

Great ambiance. Great wine selection. Absolutely love their bread (and I'm not one to partake of bread pre-meal). But, all of the dishes were .... well .... off! The fried okra and shrimp appetizers lacked something. An appropriate dipping sauce may have helped. Very odd use of parsley for the fried okra and the grilled trout. And for dessert: whole black peppercorns on top of the ice cream and (dry) tart made absolutely no sense. The chef's creativity was misguided.

The amazing smell of hickory cooking over a visible open flame truly sets the ambiance upon entering. The cocktails are amazing. We had the deviled eggs with the prosciutto on top (amazing). We had the trout, which was seasoned to perfection, and chicken, which was quite delectable as well with the collard greens as a side. They had a great smoky flavor to them. The Patio had a really nice vibe with the Buckhead aura In the background. I appreciated being greeted while entering and “thanked” by several staff members while exiting. This restaurant is solid!
