The restaurant confirmed my 10pm reservation using the open table app. The restaurant also closed at 10pm. Lol. My frustration when I arrived was something else.
Amazing food, great service, and an easy place for vegetarians & meat lovers alike.
The food was great. We had Steak and shrimp (Land and Sea ...) with wine, soup and dessert. Amanda was very professional, smiling and attentive. Unfortunately I will take my money elsewhere next time because the other host and servers in the restaurant did not bother at all. Too bad
Our server on Thursday Aug 9 was absolutely magnificent
We got 3 small shrimps opposite Instead of advertised giant prawn. Steak seemed to be smaller than 6 oz. veggies are also very small in portion. Bread becoming cheaper. They used to serve 3 different artisan bread. I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 3 years but I think it’s not worth to buy the promo from Wagjag. Also Red wine tastes no good anymore.
we enjoyed the set prix menu at the downtown restaurant and enjoyed our experience starting when we walked in and were greeted by the hostess. The service was prompt and the food was perfectly cooked. My husband's steak was a true rare and my butternut squash soup was seasoned beautifully with crème fraiche and a walnut crouton. We also enjoyed the pumpkin crème brule with fresh berries on top. Thank you to our servers Ronnie and Allen who were attentive, friendly and professional. Chef Kris came out to say hello and we enjoyed the entire dining experience. This review is also on trip advisor where I am a regular contributor.
Went to this restaurant during Summerlicious with four people. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The vegetarian spaghetti bolognese was delicious, as was the butternut squash soup, and the carrot cake was not too sweet and was to die for! would highly recommend
We arrived for our Summerlicious dinner and asked to be seated upstairs in the bar area (the restaurant is downstairs). We had EXCEPTIONAL service from Eric our bartender. He made our anniversary dinner very special - and the food was fabulous!
This was for Summerlicious for business. The food took a long time but the servers were attentive right after the food came. The dessert was the worse. It was like grocery bought cake that was frozen and defrosted then served with some jam on the side. My sandwich was lobster but I felt like it was artificial crab meat.
The food was amazing. I was so full when I left. Our waiter Azim on spot with his recommendations and his service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all my friends and I will be visiting soon.
I would just like to conclude my experience by informing management how amazing our server was. Raj is an amazing people person with an outgoing personality, he made our experience warm and welcoming and ensured we had the best experience possible.
He has a passion for what he does and it's clearly visible. We will definitely be back!!!
Way to go Raj!!!
The three women who attended July 10, at 12:30pm who all ordered the same meal( Grilled cheese Lobster Sandwich) !!
Thank you :)
Service was good, but food was sub-par.
Buns served at start of meal tasted at least 2 days old; creme brûlée at end of meal didn't have a hard crust on top - tasted like it came out of the fridge.
Pasta dish and steak were fine but not great. Equivalent to East Side Marios.
Great food and great services. The servers are very pleasant and welcoming.
Was there few years ago. Meal and service were excellent. Unfortunately, this time the food was not at par as before, seafood was not fresh, and service was slow. Restaurant was very noisy.. there was a birthday party in the restaurant... way too noisy. The party should have been in a separate room, and not in the same room as the restaurant guests. Was not a good experience this time. Don't think I'll be going back soon.
The restaurant was quiet and nice than I expected. The staff were very friendly, the meal on amazing. It was a great experience and I would go back.
The restaurant aaa empty and the waiter was very rude. He took long to service us and when he did it was Attitude. The waiter also was rude when requesting a change in meal ( we were allergic to olives). We were told the dining room was open til 12 but was pushed out at 11
We had dinner here for our Anniversary. The restaurant was very quiet with very few clients (only a couple of tables on a Friday night at 7:00). So, I hope they manage to stay in business. Service was great - very attentive. Food was amazing. We had the 3-course dinner. I had acorn squash soup, pasta & creme brule. Hubbie had salad, steak/seafood and pear tostata. Portions were good, but we managed to eat almost everything because it was soooo tasty. We'll definitely return. Chef popped by our table for a chat, adding to our experience.
Lovely ambience, quiet, very good breakfast and brunch selections. Great place for conversations while you are eating.
Enjoyed the Winterlicious menu at the King Street Social Kitchen & Bar. The food was great and the service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone attending one of the theatres in the neighborhood.
Fucken amazing, Came here with my wife for a little anniversary date. post this to the public, bet you won't!
This was the twentieth Winterlicious event my friends and I attended. The restaurant was empty! So no buzz, no atmosphere, no life. The waitress Suzanne saved it from being a total loss. Food quality was o.k Very disappointed.
It was our first time at King Street Social, and we found it a very interesting setting. The food was very good, and the portions extremely generous. Close to home, so we will be back.
The service is really slow and the food is so so. Nothing special, I didn’t expect much anyway for a hotel restaurant.
We’ve been here many times before and enjoy the food and find it to be great value for the Groupon we purchase.
Very good service and food is alright. Wine is good though.
Because of the special traffic test project on King Street, it made getting to the restaurant difficult. The disabled access does not work until a staff member comes with a key and that
can be very very slow.
excellent service at the table and the reservation staff. called to change our reservation with no issues. the food was excellent. salad was to die for. steak and pasta also very good. shrimp were a highlite. dessert and wine very. very good.
We dined here with a Wagjag coupon on the Prix Fixe menu. The food was excellent and interesting! We ate around 5:00 pm and there were only a few other people in the restaurant (quiet atmosphere). Would dine here again.
Food was very tasty and colourful and flavourful. Presented beautifully. Wait staff were very kind, and attentive.
Great Value/Good Food We purchased a meal for two through Groupon. The menu selection was good, the food was nicely presented and delicious. There was a glass of wine included in the dinner special. Our server was attentive and professional. It was a return visit and a great way to end our theater outing. This is great value for the money but also really good food. It is within walking distance to Royal Alex. Will be sure to return.
My husband I really enjoyed our dinner at the King Street Social. The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere perfect for a quiet evening out.
This was a disappoint experience.
We sent back the calamari because it was burnt
the main course was overcooked as well.
They didn't have the dessert we ordered.
The server did his best to best, however service was slow because he was the only one working
Definitely not worth the money even as a Groupon Deal
The Beet Salad was simply amazing as was the Rainbow Trout. It was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Calamari which melted in his mouth and he also absolutely loved the steak. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and explained the menu items to us.
Was ok... but will not return.
Low ceiling, depressing ambiance.... but great service!
The meal was delicious! Everything was done to perfection - the soup, pasta, and steak were all piping hot when we were served. The service was attentive but not overbearing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit - and will gladly return!
Very pleasant restaurant good food and the pricing is quite reasonable. The offer a prix fixe through Groupon and WagJag which makes it very affordable
The wait staff was kind and attentive as was the host - they were the best part and without them, this review would be a 1 star. Unfortunately the quality of the meal was just "meh" and no where worth the cost of the prix fix charged. Steaks were under cooked and overly doused with "sauce" to minimize the lack of quality. The "professionally paired wine" was horrible -
perhaps from a bottle that had been kept open too long. Not surprising as this place didn't have any people in it, so who knows how long it had been on the shelf open! Desserts were sub par and funny enough, they had "run out" of 2 of the 3 options - on a Saturday night and we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant for a 7pm reservation. We came on a promotion offer presumably trying to convert guests into advocates and repeat customers. Given our experience, we can neither recommend or will we return. This is unfortunate because the location is great, the restaurant has a decent atmosphere and decor and the wait staff did their best to make up for what the kitchen lacks. We honestly wish we could get our money back.
First of all, the restaurant is under the ground, so thumbs down for sure. Secondly, we were the only table in the restaurant on a Saturday evening, in the middle of summer! And that pretty much tells you everything! The only reason we went there was because I had a Groupon to redeem and unfortunately the restaurant refused to honor the face value. Very disappointing at service! I made reservation through Open Table and staff couldn't find us. We had to stand outside when nobody was in the restaurant. They could've let us sit down first!!! The food is tasty but pricey. It's in the hotel, so you are not only paying for food, but also paying for the hotel itself. I will never come back, nor do I recommend this place to anyone. There are so many restaurants in Toronto are way better than this one. The bill I paid is good enough to have a fabulous meal at Canoe, with a fantastic view.
We reserved a table for 9 on Fathers Day, age range 2-67. The brunch had something for everyone and no one left with an empty stomach. Our waiter was very attentive and brought us 2 sippy cups when he heard we forgot ours. Endless juice and coffe and tgw omlet bar was awesome!!! Highly recommend for young and old alike
We had reservations for 6:30 pm. and were running late. I called the restaurant and they were pleasant enough and said no problem. We arrived at about 7:00 and informed our waiter that we had show tickets for 8:00 pm. He took our order and brought our drinks in short time. The Bread was warm and was great with butter. The apps arrived very quickly and were very good. I had the strawberry and spinach salad asked to replace the goat cheese with feta and there was no problem at all. the apps were great. The waiter checked on us often and made sure the mains were ready as soon as we finished our apps. Unfortunately this is where the problem was; the mains were slightly overcooked for me and too overcooked for my lady. My steak was more on the medium/well than on a medium (I ate it) otherwise it tasted good. My lady's fish was too over cooked that she sent it back. They were very quick with the replacement and did not fuss at all; as a matter of fact, the chef came out to see us and apologized for the overcooked food. He even gave us some popcorn for the show (smart food). We made it to the show with time to spare.
