Christmas in Old Alexandria with my family. Large group so options were limited. We found ourselves here and based on previous reviews we thought it would be good but we were underwhelmed. Seems like the consistent feedback from my group is that everything was almost good, but nothing hit the spot. Lacked seasoning, lacked a finishing touch, etc.; nothing special. Definitely won’t return. Very attentive server. Manager attentive. But it was Christmas Day so we appreciated having an option. We were starving and left full. Sometimes that has to be enough.

First time here and had a great experience. The restaurant supervisor was our server, and he handled our large party with ease. Truly a joy. The food was pretty great. The table ordered a good variety of dishes and everyone had very positive things to say. Dishes are reasonably priced, especially for OldTown and being in a hotel. Definitely a hidden gem. Only downside is parking, but that is literally every restaurant in Old Town.

This was a dining experience where one thing clouded the entire experience. At the conclusion of our meal for four, I included our parking ticket to be validated along with payment. The waiter returned to say that they didn’t do so. This was shocking that this is a hotel restaurant that wants to pull in customers off of the street, and sits atop the hotel garage. So shortsighted, and so unwelcoming.

Not coming from the hotel, we made reservations as suggested online. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception stand to help seat us. We were not sure we were in the right location because the restaurant was empty. We had to go around the hotel lobby looking for an employee to help us. We finally ended up in the kitchen where a cook to us back where started and told us to sit anywhere. She then went to find a waitress for us. We watch other people arrive and go through the same experience. The restaurant is an open space next to the bar and nothing fancy, but the food was very good. I imagine they lose a lot of business simply due to neglect.

Positives: Good location; the bar is fine if you want a lively, noisey time; food quality was good; they validate parking for diners. Negatives: The restaurant has been cut to about a third of its former size, and the accoustics are really awful. During our lunchtime visit (probably our 4th or 5th in as many years) they had only one server, so she could barely keep up, but she was also mopping the floors when not serving clients . . . yuk. Overall disappointing; probably won't go back.

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant not realizing it was hotel restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was professional and pleasant. The atmosphere was dim and serene; not too loud or too quiet. The food was amazing. We shared the crab pretzel sticks as an appetizer. The crab mixture was smooth & tasty and the pretzels had the perfect taste & texture. My husband had the Reuben sandwich, which he liked. The corned beef wasn't shaved - it was slices. I had the short ribs and they were delicious and tender. The accompanying mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes were quite delicious too. It's not often I rave about mashed potatoes, but I highly recommend getting them here. If we're ever back in the Alexandria area I would go there again.

We shared a Brew Fondue for an appetizer and it was very disappointing and would not order it again. The cheese was very watery and not very tasty. My husband ordered the mac and cheese which repeated on him all night and I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was very tough and not tasty at all. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was very disappointing.

King Street Tavern was selected because of location and Open Table reviews. The KST is the Hilton restaurant. I missed this detail when making the reservation. The KST does not have a tavern atmosphere or menu. KST was pretty good for a hotel restaurant but was not on par with other Old Town dining. Service was good but not outstanding even though the restaurant was not busy. We drank beer and wine by the glass. Our appetizer choice was the beer fondue appetizer. This is pretzel bread and not a pretzel. The dip was very tasty but the pretzel quantity was insufficient (you can order and pay for additional pretzel bread). I selected the salmon and my spouse the fish and chips. The salmon and sides were salty. The fish and chips was predominantly chips. Another piece of fish should be served. It is unlikely that we will return to KST. There are too many fine restaurants in Old Town. On the other hand, I would probably dine at KST if staying at the Hilton and didn't wish to venture out.

This was a return visit to a very nice Hotel Restaurant. The food was good, though the "fried chicken" was very dry.....even when on of our party asked that it be replaced, and it was, it was replaced with "fried chicken" that was also very dry..... We asked if it was truly fried, and found out it is Baked and Fried .....thus part of the problem. The other food items were quite good. Best of all was the service. Our server was very attentive, and so good, we will return!

Great service from Clarel who referred to me by name at each interaction throughout the evening. Ordered several different seafood entrees and all were delicious. They even made our salmon steaks medium-rare as requested. Great beer selection. Highly recommended. Parking on street is not so convenient. Photos attached are of the salmon, fish & chips, and calamari.

This is NOT a tavern! Very misleading. It is a hotel restaurant with a bar. Not much ambiance but good happy hour and drinks. Limited menu but decent food. Okay to meet someone for a drinkthen go explore Old Town.

This was a pick of my best friend. The food was yummy, but our server was the best! We had a great time as we had already had a very long day and this was a nearby stop. Even though we live in the area, we never realized that this was in the Hilton. So it threw us off a bit. However, if you request to be seated in the dining area, it’s hard to notice. But the restrooms are a decent walk away. I’m glad we went as the food was good, but I don’t know if we’ll revisit anytime soon as it was more of an eatery and less of an experience.

Great find as we were next door to this restaurant in the Hilton Hotel and it was raining. We went on line with Open Table and was able to get a reservation immediately on a Saturday night. Service and food was excellent and the price was moderate. With so many choices, this was a great find.

Failed to realize that this is just a bar in the Hilton hotel. Had searched for restaurants in Old Town but guess I didn't read it thoroughly enough. Not in the historic part of old town. Spent most of the time trying to keep our plates on the table as the wait staff kept wanting to clear whether we were done or not. They weren't busy so not sure why the rush and we certainly were not lingering as it's just a hotel lobby bar. Food was OK but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're staying at the Hilton and just don't want to venture out.

The restaurant is connected to the Hilton Hotel. So the atmosphere is that of a hotel bar and dining spot. The food was very good. I had a Bistro steak and my wife had the crap pot pie. Both of the foods as well as the salad were tasty. It is not a restaurant I would go out of my way for but if you are near by and need a place to sit, relax and eat. This will work.

Absolutely miserable experience. I get it that it is a hotel bar/resturaunte and everything, but even with a reservation our table wasn't ready despite not having any costumers, brunch menu ends way to early, the service was extremely slow, and the food was not good.

The actual place didn’t look like the pictures that were shown on open table. Food was good, service was good in some cases and lacking in other areas. What they did wrong, they made up for it in other areas. For causal dinning, it would be ok, for any special dinning, not the place. Kind of a bar and a place to eat all mixed up together.
