Kingston Taphouse & Grille
On any hot summer day head to the patio and enjoy the best kept secret in the city, The Kingston's two level patio in the middle of the busy city, truly is an urban oasis.
The Kingston is an ideal location for group events. Six unique rooms allow for multiple experiences, from intimate sit down dinners to lively cocktail and appetizer receptions.
Mingle in the Taphouse, the heart of the Kingston. Dine in our contemporary, 110-seat restaurant, with its comfortable private booths, inviting fireplace, exposed brick walls and display kitchen. Or come downstairs and party in our Wrec Room. Guests can lounge by the fire,or enjoy one of our signature drinks over a game of pool. For small intimate functions, consider The Wine Library.
Marina personable attitude made this visit to Kingston ab fab😊
Great place hidden in downtown Vancouver.
Food and drinks were very good. Food comes hot and fresh !
It was our first visit and we really enjoyed it. It was a bit noisier than we had expected but not so loud as to be a problem. Service was a bit slow because the restaurant was full but again, it wasn’t a problem as we were not in any hurry. Overall, quite a pleasant dinner and fair value for the price.
NYE dinner with friends. Very understaffed restaurant which key to slow service and frustrated staff and patrons. Nice bar/lounge area, rest of the venue is outdated and bland
We really enjoyed the character and charm. Food was great and we were full for a long time afterwards. Will come back again.
We were tight on time and our server was really great about it. We wouldn't have made it on time if it wasn't for her. The rush didn't negatively impact the food at all. It was still delicious!
Way too noisy. Large group in the restaurant. We couldn't hear our conversation.
Great service. Our server was excellent and did an amazing job for how busy it was
Very friendly and professional server. Food was very good.
Everything we had was very salty. Didn’t care for The poutine i ordered lasagna that was bland the leek soup lacked flavor as well. The French dip was very salty between the dipping sauces and the over salted fries
The server was very good.
Disappointed when we were shown to our table initially that in a wide open restaurant we were given a table jammed up against a railing with awkward seating. Asked to be relocated to a booth, got a small booth. Told larger booths only for parties of 4. When we left at least 5 of these booths only had two people in them. Felt like we were treated like second class citizens. Ordered salt & pepper wings - they were over cooked and dry.
Our server was attentive and hilarious. She made our experience really enjoyable. My friends were here from out of town so it added to our fun night out!
maybe because of construction outside the restaurant, restaurant was quiet and atmosphere was gloomy.
Good food great service. Thumbs up!! Would recommend to everyone
The food was just alright, nothing to write home about.
Dirty tables and dishes.
We went to a show at the Queen E theatre and I would make it a regular stop for future events or just out and about.
Yummy food! Awesome server. Wish they would leave a water jug at the table though.
Any of the salads are great, fresh & great portions. I can’t wait to take my out of town guests there in the summertime
Met a friend for late lunch. Great spot! Good beer on tap. Service was perfect. Not overly checked on, just the right amount. Food was really good. We had 2 different pasta dishes and they were both delicious. Will be back for sure!
Our waitress was phenomenal and the ambiance was what we were looking for before our evening out to see a concert. We’ll be back!!
Our server was excellent and the food and drinks were great! However the hostess and host at the front of the restaurant were beyond rude and Not personable.
Great service, typical pub food
We arrived early but were seated immediately. Service was great. A great place for a casual get together!
The food was delicious, and served hot! Staff was very friendly and the service was attentive. The only challenge was getting from the Telus parkade to the restaurant, because even short distances can be challenging for those with physical disabilities. The drop off area out front addressed this problem, except in our case where both of us have mobility issues! One solution MIGHT be is to have one permanent handi-capped stall out front in case drop off is not a viable option. Kudos for the efforts made to accommodate those with disabilities! Overall, the dining experience was great, the food was fantastic, and the ambiance is welcoming and comfortable.
Will be back, a nice little spot, very good food and excellent prices. The staff was super as well.
Good food and service. Really miss the beer cheddar soup - you need to bring it back!
A venerable favorite slips a notch. Friday night for dinner out -- hardly a sole. The kitchen staff and servers resembled crows lined up on a power line -- staring out at the handful of guests -- a little bit eerie. Burgers (and even the bacon topping) was very bland (and overdone). Server was cheery, helpful and pleasant. We'll have a good hard think before coming back to the Kingston. Too bad...
We enjoyed our brunch. The server, Jessica, was very pleasant and attentive. The food is a great price and filling. Some more options would be nice though.
The Health Salad is fabulous but I really missed the Beer Cheddar Soup!
I've been to the Kingston many times and was underwhelmed by the service which made the meal just average for me. We certainly didn't need to reserve as the restaurant was quite empty. When shown to our table we were in a two seater that had pub chairs. I was with a friend who has back issues and felt more comfortable in a booth. When asking for a booth ( there were many around us ..again, not busy ) the hostess took us to the back of the restaurant right beside the server / kitchen / bathroom area...felt like a bit of a punishment for asking for a booth however I thanked her and she just walked away abruptly like we were an inconvenience. Having a bad day??? Secondly, we waited over 10 minutes for a server to approach us - remember, we were right beside the server area and kitchen. They seemed to not have time for us until my friend finally called over to see if we could be served. Once our server arrived he provided the service I was accustomed to at the Kingston..friendly! All in all, the food was good..it's a great area close to shopping and the Orpheum / Commodore so I would still recommend...just sad to see people having a bad day...if your unhappy in your job, find another...the Kingston will thank you!!
Great atmosphere although a bit noisy. Our waiter was fantastic (forgot his name).
Server completely ignored us for first 20 minutes, like we weren't there and let all the glasses get empty. When I called to increase my reservation a week in advance from 6-10, the person on the phone gave the impression I was asking something unreasonable, should have been a simple yes or no and positive but was not.
Good place to go for a bite to eat before a game. Favourite stop before a BC Lions game
Excellent service from Jackie. More Happy Hour options and a few additions to the menu would be appreciated.
All good. Great friendly service and good eats
I had the BLT, which sounds simple enough but it was heavenly!!! Great atmosphere! Will definitely be back!
Great restaurant! Had reso’s for 5:30 but due to lots of traffic got there late but they still the reservation 😀 which was great because restaurant was full , service excellent and food outstanding ✅the best Calamari in town
Nice casual place to meet for lunch or dinner ... or before a game. There's is a small enclosed patio, which is perfect for the summer.
