   Never disappointed with a meal here. Steak is always flavorful and cook to desired temperature. They do well accommodating children that just want buttered noodles. The service is nicely done. Very friendly, not overly intrusive but also available when you need something. The cake for mother's day was a nice touch.

   The young maitre d’ had a horrible disposition! She was like 18-22 and should have been working at a fast food restaurant. The manager had to be her father or BF because he didn’t do a thing to correct her. If management keeps this person on the door for long,it will eventually ruin their business. Waiter and the food was fine, but the night was ruined by getting into with her at the beginning of dinner.

   That was the worst dining experience of my life. If I could give it negative stars I would. On Valentine’s Day, without any crowd around 7pm, we were ushered to the back of the restaurant. No problem. Takes about 15 minutes before someone greets us and takes our order (it was the terrible Valentine’s Day set menu). Not only did the service and food rank among the worst my wife and I have ever had but we happen to notice that the only people in the back room of the restaurant besides one other couple were black, including myself. If this was a freak coincidence then you only have the terrible food and service to worry about. If it’s the former then I hope those doors aren’t open much longer because that was astonishing. Oh, and wife had to send food back twice and still undercooked and terrible. Will never be coming back and will go out of my way to tell people to avoid this place.

   We hold Kinzie Chophouse close to our hearts. How special our evening was! Service was great..the food is just unbelievable. Just no words to describe how good. Our server was great.     The service was great, but the entrees were only "ok". Charred yet rare steak and overcooked shrimp. Also, did nothing for a birthday celebration noted in reservation.

    Overall a forgettable experience and I wouldn’t return. We wanted a nice dinner for our last night in Chicago and from the photos and reviews we felt let down. I selected a medium rare ribeye filet based on the waiter’s recommendation and it was dry and over cooked. I didn’t return it because and it ruins the other person’s meal having to wait. When I was selecting a wine the waiter pushed three times towards the more expensive wine of the two I was looking at, and when I chose the lower priced wine he said they didn’t have it. The decor is tired and unimpressive and I didn’t see any homage paid to the building significance. The other staff were good and prompt. Also, I get that it’s a steakhouse and rather old school but for toting itself as a woman owned business (and as a woman myself) I was surprised that when I asked for the wine list it was given to my husband, as well as the check (I chose the wine and paid the bill).

    4 of the 5 guests received steaks at the same time. #5 arrived 10 minutes after the others. No compensations made, barely an apology. I was left slightly offended by this.

    When I worked nearby, I used to eat here 2-3X/wk. Loved the old menu, but not a fan of the new one. No more crab cake sandwich or goat cheese salad. But service as always was excellent and loved the new decor.

    I made this reservation months in advance. We had 5 people for a company dinner. The hostess stuck us at a tiny bar high top table in the corner of the bar. At the time of our reservation the dining room was half full. Very disappointed in her service. The bar staff and our server was great.

    Food took a long time to come out. Steaks were wrong temperature. The poorly cooked steaks coming back from the kitchen were still wrong temp. Server spilled water all over one guests meal and didn’t offer to replace. We were ignored for 45 minutes after our dinners were served. Worst steakhouse dining experience I’ve ever had. Audacity to still charge automatic gratuity for poor service. Would never recommend.

    We had a nice time celebrating a friend's birthday. Good ambience and service. Our group of three ordered two steaks, lambchops, a few sides, salads and a desert. The quality of the meat and food was very good, as expected for pricey restaurant like this one. The restaurant's website advertised "Greek inspired cooking', which I would interpret as well-developed, if not bold flavors (citrus, garlic, olive oil, oregano, etc.). That is not what we got that night. For example, the red-wine reduction for the lamb chops, garlic mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and draft IPA, all lacked flavor. The salads and flourless chocalate desert were well done.

    Started off well then the smelly oysters were served! The host tried to tell us that ‘Washington State oysters are supposed to smell bad’. Then while the waiter was standing there my wife gagged on a batch of hair in her tomatoes! Gross!!! The waiter ignored it and asked if she’d like to try the other dish! We paid, for the drinks and headed out to find another place to dine, it was my Birthday.

    I had a lovely birthday dinner at Kinzie Chophouse. We ate outside and enjoyed the lovely weather, but the restaurant is right under the L at The Mart so it was a little loud at times. The music was perfect for dinner. We started with Ahi Tuna and Avocado Tartar - very good. My daughter and I ordered fish - Asparagus Risotto with Salmon added, Grouper with Spinach and Polenta Cake - both delicious and very generous portions. My husband had the 8oz Filet Mignon and my son-in-law had the NY Strip. They shared Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Panko Crusted Fried Mushrooms. Both steaks were tender. Great service. It was not an inexpensive dinner, but we used my OpenTable rewards which made the evening perfect. I highly recommend Kinzie Chophouse for special occasions.

    There were six of us and no one was particularly impressed. The food was good, but not great. We all dine out often and it tends to make each of us particular in how we assess the meal. The steaks lacked flavor, even the dry aged cuts. The sides and desserts were ok. The interior of the restaurant was bright and basic and there is seating outdoors, but the restaurant is under the El Train so you will hear that go by from time to time. Service was good but little things like refilling water glasses or bringing out all the sides we ordered stood out as misses. I think there are better places in the area.

    I go on a lot of first dates because idk, so I go to a lot of nice places. I was very happy with the food and the service. I waited at the bar for my date to arrive and the bartender was very talented and very welcoming. I would genuinely go there for a casual drink if I lived closer. I’m in west loop. The wait staff was excellent and super attentive. Nothing was missed. They asked about allergies which is pretty rare in Chicago, I just found that nice. Was asked in a way that was a tone of “why wouldn’t we ask” and I love that. The food was excellent. The bone marrow and beef tartar were quite nice. I had the dry aged New York strip. I usually scoff at getting steak while I’m out, I can cook a pretty decent steak. I at least enjoy it more than I do most places I’ve ordered one at. This place did not disappoint. I was incredibly happy with it. Cooked to perfection. The Mac n cheese was amazing as well. The bill was also not near what I expected it to be. Really well priced, especially for Chicago.

    The service was impeccable!! The steak was so-so, It should have melted in our mouths. My steak was a little over cooked & tough....for the price, I had high expectations. The wait staff was so friendly, I can’t think of a time I’ve had better service. They made the evening very enjoyable & special for all of us, especially for my daughter who that day graduated from college. Thank you for making the evening so special for her!

    I had a reservation for two in the main dining room. Upon arrival, we were told a large private party's size meant that we would have to instead sit at a table in the bar area. That was disappointing because it was noisier and difficult to have a meaningful conversation. That said, the manager was aware of the inconvenience and offered a second glass of wine (each), a glass of champagne (each), and desserts without charge to make up for the issue. We made the best of a less than perfect situation.
