We have been to Kobe’s a few times and the food is always great. The thing that always irritates us is that we are always a party of 4 and instead of them seating us with 2 on the end and 2 on the corner so we can talk and have a nice dinner together, they always seat us in a row and therefore we can never share the experience as it’s like we’re sitting at a movie theatre. There are always 2 couples sitting on the ends and either they are just doing their own thing or for this last occasion ,they were yelling at each other across the grill. Why don’t the hostesses put family’s of 4 so they are at one end and the corner and then parties of 2 can be at the other end. Our dinner for my 16 year old daughter’s birthday was ruined as we sat in a line and couldn’t share any conversation while the 2 other parties of 2 on opposite ends, got drunk and vulgar and yelled about going to the casino and getting smashed. We couldn’t wait to leave....

I have been there twice now for a special occasion and it is worth the trip. Amazing food and a fun, unique dining experience. It's really cool to watch your food being made for you and getting it super fresh off the grill. The chefs are funny and the staff are friendly and give great service. Not a place for every day dining with the prices but worth the cost for a fun and special night out.

Fantastic and attentive service. Very noisy in main dining room. Fun experience. Hilarious chef. Lobster and scallops were fantastic.

So much fun. Definitely a step up from your normal restaurant experience. Cooks are entertaining and you feel involved and get to know the process of how your food is actually made without the mystery. You sit at a table with others and therefore it makes it a lot more social than your average dinner. It can be quite loud, so if noise bothers you, this might not be the place to go. Otherwise, the food is amazing. I got the chicken teriyaki and can easily say it was the best chicken I’ve ever had. So tender, juicy, and all around well done. I recommend getting the dinner. You get a flavourful soup, a bowl of rice, a few shrimp, a serving of assorted vegetables, and a serving of bean sprouts. The meat and vegetables come with separate sauces that are delicious. I got the fried rice too and it was so good. Make a reservation because it is busy. Definitely recommend for a date or a night out with friends if you aren’t on too much of a budget!

What a great time. Excellent staff and food, our chef was hilarious. At first the price seems high but you soon realize that the price covers everything: soup, appetizer, meal, dessert and green tea. No it does not include alcohol, lol but it is available. If costs are still a concern many diners had groupon / social shopper deals. We are big eaters and we left stuffed. I highly recommend to atleast try 1x you won't regret it.

Awesome food! Steak and seafood sauces to die for. Only complaint is the price is way too much. We still go about three times per year but if the price was lower we would be there monthly.

Food was wonderful as was our chef (first area, Jan 3, 5pm). The only thing detracting from the whole experience was the music! It was so loud it was nearly impossible to hear our servers to take our order, let alone each other - it was kind of ridiculous and the other patrons at our table agreed. We asked 2 people a total of 3 times to turn it down which did eventually happen a degree - although we are sure it crept back up during the hour or so we were there. If it was complementary to the dinning experience it may have been ok, but top 40 and rap is not what you expect at a decent Japanese steak and seafood place at 5pm. With the dinner performance and other patrons all it added was an incessant base beat which just left us feeling irritated instead of how we should half felt after what was a delicious meal.

Crazy frenetic ambiance, but after the dust settled, my wife and I ate the best 4 oz Kobe beef steak EVER.

Reservation was delayed due to business, not a big deal. Hostess was chewing gum while we were sorting out the group reservation.

When we went to go up to our seats, they told us to wait at the stairs before sitting down. Some miscommunication between floors there.

Food was adequate.

Always a Fun Time, Hopefully you get some energetic table mates that enjoy the show and interact well with the Chef. Haven't had a bad meal there - Pricey but they offer some good deals online. :)

We had a 6:30 reservation. After waiting 25 minutes and not getting seated we left. There's no reason a restaurant should get that backed up for an relatively early time.

I think it is over priced and rushed and tables are squished. For a family of 5 with only 4 drinks in total to cost $350+ and to be in and out in a little over an hour I will choose a different spot. Done with the Kobe. Over priced food sautéed in oil butter and soy sauce. Not to technical.

Went for our 14th anniversary tonight; our grill area had two kids with one couple and an infant with another couple. Between the crying infant and the misbehaving 2 kids to my left they took the pleasure out of the evening. Good and ample food/couldn't finish and an entertaining cook but I came home with a wet elbow and several foot indentations in my left leg courtesy of the brat. Suggestion to management; designate a grill area for families with children where they can enjoy each others/brats entertainment. Let the couples enjoy their privacy.

Overall the experience was fun! In my opinion the food wasn't worth its price. The steak was pretty tough and the bean sprouts were not fully cooked. Its just my opinion, but I also wish there was a little more flavour to the food. However, their chicken teriyaki was great! The sauce was full of flavor and the chicken was tender! The least costly meal was a vegetarian option at about $25. All of the other meals were $38-$73.

We had a great time with awesome food! Cooked right in front of us exactly as we liked it including an enormous helping of garlic! We made friends with the couple next to us who were friendly. We wouldn't bother ordering the mushrooms again, as they were a little lacking in flavour compared to everything else. The pre-dinner drink service was slow - it was Friday night and they were busy, but still could have been more attentive. The bartender finally noticed we didn't have drinks and produced an amazing kamikaze! We had a really good evening overall and we will certainly return - soon!

We frequent Kobe’s about 6 times a year. Raffy is always the best chef to have, and we got him again. He was exceptional. The server took my girlfriends order wrong (which was EXACTLY the same as mine), so I got my food and she had to wait. I offered her mine, but we both waited for hers so mine was cold when she got hers. We were downtown taking advantage of the BeVancouver American Express promo, but when it came to pay they wouldn’t take our American Express gift cards which is ridiculous as we have used them three years in a row. Any establishment that takes American Express takes their gift cards. The first time we heard about the promo we called down to make sure they take them, and they told me as long as they take the card they will take the gift card. Kobe’s takes American Express, their coat check tickets and their bill trays are all American Express. I asked the girls downstairs just to confirm. The same girl that got the order wrong also told me they don’t take American Express gift cards. She must have been new, we have never had so poor customer service at Kobe’s. With that said, we will be back, and hopefully we never get her again.

Upon entering in the hostess area, it was way too loud with people drinking and shouting. I wasn't even able to hear the hostess talking to me. My reservation was at 8pm. I sat down waiting for about 45 minutes before the chef showed up to start cooking. The food was pretty good, but it wasn't worth the money IMO. The steak was over done as well. I don't regret trying it once to check it off my bucket list, but I probably am satisfied and don't intend to come back again.
