I had the ultimate and Japanese waggu 8oz there but the taste overall was not interesting-nothing but grilled some stuffs with butter, moreover, the waggu steak was horribly overcooked. It was not worth of over $200.
Food was good, price is a bit on the high end for what you actually. Servers are very nice and friendly. If you haven't been before I suggest checking them out.
Kobe is great for those special rare occasion like birthdays and special celebratpry dinner. We had the Ultimate and Wagyu and thus tasted the best they can offer.
The Ultimate (74.95/per) came with aged new york steak, sesame terayaki chicken, lobsters, scallops, veggies, and for desserts Mario Gelatos Ice Cream. The lobster was cook to perfection, tasted moist, juicy, and seasoned properly. The scallops also seasoned just right not too salty, and was very tender. Sesame chicken was a bit dry, and seem like a filler dish. Veggies was done right, but their was too much bean sprouts going around and thus crowded our plates. At one point the bean sprouts became a nuisances and degraded the experience. The ice cream had a couple flavors, but i stuck with the green tea which tasted decent nothing to cry home about.
Now for Miyazaki Wagyu (75.00/4oz), as you expect is the highlight of the night. I recommend having the Wagyu first prior to having the New York Steak. You will experience an epiphany such as “Is this really steak!?” or “damn thats pretty good” type of epiphany YMMV.
Overall we racked up about $500 for 3 people with drinks, and food. Great once in awhile and if you never had Wagyu definitely check this place out. Also go early prior to your reservation to get the seat in front of the chef otherwise you be stucked like us on outskirt where you can’t enjoy the full experience but pay top dollar.
My husband Birthday celebration. We love Kobe and Jimmy is an awesome cook. We always request his table he goes out of his way to make everyone happy. Thank you Jimmy we’ll always ask for him.
We had the best time, my grandsons first time there , made it memorable for him, he said I’m coming here for my birthday, Thsnk you for the awesome food n service
Kobe’s, my favorite!! The food is excellent and the Chefs are very entertaining and friendly.
Was expecting bigger things as Kobe has been around 50 yrs. Started off great, then fizzled.
Table chef was excellent, entertaining. Issue were the female servers.
Need alot more training or need to be on the ball.
We went to Kobe for my boyfriend's birthday. The service was solid - nothing over-the-top (had a couple times where the server didn't take our previous Sake bottle when bringing us a new one), but nothing disappointing either. I forgot I'd listed that the occasion was his birthday on the reservation, so we were really pleasantly surprised when the server brought out an ice cream with a sparkler and the entire restaurant started singing Happy Birthday! The fact that they noticed that small detail on the reservation and made sure the server and staff were aware of it really made the night awesome in the end. Thank you for a great dinner!
Our chef was quite quiet and didn’t engage with the people he was cooking for. We had an interesting cross section of people at the table so conversation was interesting
The upstairs area is very cramped and uncomfortable.
This place is perfect for a fun night out! You get dinner and a show. The food is very good, the shrimp and steak were amazing!
We came for our 39th anniversary, were offered a free glass of champagne and a Roman Candle on our dessert. It was cosy and friendly. The Kobe beef was cooked to a perfect medium rare, something everyone should try at least once. The service was outstanding and I liked the succession of cooked hot food added to your meal as you ate. The food amounts were generous, and choice of vegetables were delicious.
The only thing I would have liked was a knife to accompany the fork as a choice for eating your food. It was too delicious to fight the limitations I have using chopsticks. Otherwise, a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you for you service.
Always a great time at Kobe! Thanks so much for always giving impeccable service and incredible experiences.
Went with a party of gal pals and had a fun time! Food was delicious and my filet mignon was superb.
It was a birthday treat and it was fabulous! They gave me a little extra food and sang me Happy Birthday and then bought out the dessert with a fantastic Roman Birthday candle. It was crazy fireworks! Thank you Kobe
Always one of my all time favourite restaurants in Vancouver. Always try to get there for amazing food and entertainment when we are in the city.
Mango icecream the best one. The food is really good.
We have been here many times, but today the mustard sauce tasted little off, but other than that it’s great! But my husband thinks they should switch up on some vegetables.
Bathrooms need cleaning and that is a big deal for me. It’s just aging and starting to look weathered. The service was friendly, but we only got one drink and had to hunt someone down to get a second. Chef was good. Always good entertainment at this local landmark. Wonderful friendly staff
Amazing food, chef and drinks. We were so entertained that I forgot to take a photo. Everyone enjoyed it from my 2 year old nephew - 10 year old grandson, my sisters, my mama and myself. Will come back again.
Our server Chantal and our chef Max were outstanding. We will definitely be returning for more excellent service and quality.
Food and service were exceptional
Awesome experience!!!! Our chef/cook was amazing, did a few juggling tricks with the utensils, pulled a super trick on one our group. The old string in the sauce bottle, worked like a charm on her!!
Great service, very attentive. Food was tasty and of good value, the wagyu was definitely worth while!
Our first visit. Extremely satisfied with the experience.
Awesome experience, great staff!
the chef is great cook. the food is good
I haven’t been to Kobe in 20 years. I don’t know why I have waited so long to go back. The kids had a blast, and asked if they could come back for their birthdays. If you have never been, or it’s been a while, I highly recommend going, it’s tonnes of fun, and the food is delicious.
As usual, amazing food. Good humored Chef who put on a great performance and cooked our food perfectly. Had the tuna sashimi appy to start, amazing! It was my bf's first time and he LOVED it.
What an great date night. My wife and I love this place! The food, service (amazing staff) and visual display of culinary skills really make for a fantastic nigh out Throw in a Groupon and it’s like having your cake and eating it too. Can’t wait to go again.
My bf and I went and we had such a great time! Atmosphere is eveything and kobe’s Is great! Thank you :)
Food was ok, ambience was good. The only thing I don't like at these types of places is that all of your food doesn't come together, and you end up eating your meal 1 item at a time as it's being cooked. Meh!
We have been there a dozen times and usually have great service but this time was the exception. We had to ask to order drinks, had to ask 30 minutes later where our drinks were. Needless to say we only had 1 drink when we might have had a few = better tip.
The filet was beyond delicious! Great atmosphere. Service was good.
Its an amazing dinner experience . Lots of fun watching chefs cook your food right in front of you with all kind of tricks. Everyone loves it adults and kids.Great food, great setting. I take family and friends every time they visit from out of town and out of country.A bit pricey but you can always find vouchers on Groupon and Social Shoppers.
The chef was very funny! Kept the whole table laughing all night, great service and amazing food, will be back soon :)
Went there for a business diner.
Used to live in Japan for a while so I was expecting a similar service and quality, it was not the case.
We took the most expensive cut of meat and it looks amazing but the cook ruined it.
As we were not eating seafood but the first dish contained prawn they just skipped it and not offered any replacement so while others were eating we were just waiting, and repeatidely asked if we wanted more drinks while our glasses were still almost full.
The side dishes were poorly done at best, barely cut into the hot plate with close to no seasoning but salt and shoyu,
Overall quite disappointed by the experience.
In the plus side the cocktail were good and well prepared.
Had a horrible MSG allergic reaction! Worst experience ever. Too much flavouring/seasoning. Made our Birthday dinner not one to remember!
The Kobe food has always good and made good drinks service and atmosphere are good for the evening or a meal at the Kobe.
Our reservation was for Nov 2 @ 7pm.....we were seated promptly. Very nice staff...attentive & friendly.
All three of us ordered the steak & prawns........absolutely tasteless........we were pouring the mustard & ginger sauce over everything to give some flavor & also asked for soya sauce.
What was a retirement dinner for our girlfriend turned out to be a dud experience!!
Won't return & certainly won't recommend this restaurant..........
