   Restaurant was not at all busy when we’re arrived at 9:30 p.m. We were seated right away but it took nearly 10 minutes for us to even be approached by a server to take our drink order. When our server finally arrived, she took both our drink and food order but it seemed to take a long time for her to come back with our drinks and we were even approached by someone else in the meantime to see if we had been waited on. When our drinks arrived, the order was not complete and she had to go back to the kitchen to get an iced tea and straws. She explained they didn’t have lemons sliced for the iced tea so she would see what she could do. We ended up getting our iced tea with lime slices. When our meals finally arrived, the sliders we ordered without onions came with onions. She did make that right by bringing us another order but we had to ask 3 times for place settings and obvious things like salt and pepper and sauces to go with the appetizers. The service overall just seemed a bit slow and unusual given that we have been to Kona many times when it’s been much busier and received much better service.

    The six of us had 4 appetizers which were all very good and easy to share. The main dishes were excellent, everyone of them were well presented and tasted wonderful. We were enjoying our diners very much. We order two desserts which were both great. Unfortunately when the coffee arrived it was cold and extremely bitter. We asked for cream, when the cream came it was actually milk. Ending our evening on this bad finisher caused everyone to leave the night with the bad taste of coffee, of all the good food we enjoyed, the only thing spoke of was how bad the coffee was and nothing was done to attempt to correct it. My husband and I are frequent diners at Kona Grill, we brought these 2 other couples expecting they would enjoy the food and evening… yet the after dinner conversation was only about how bad the coffee was. I tell this story becuz a simple cup of hot coffee served cold changed the entire memory of what could have been, should have been a memory of “let’s come back here again” to a “how do you screw up a simple cup of hot coffee” and then not attempt to correct it” memory.

    Even though it was busy the server still attended us and was amazing. Food came out nice and hot and couldn’t be any better! Definitely try the 5 spice ribs because the sauce is amazing. Such a great place for a fun date night or if you want to enjoy a night out with friends!

    Didn’t even get to order. Music inside was so loud, we couldn’t hear each other. Not a good place to celebrate a special occasion unless it’s one that involves screaming across the table. Asked waiter if we could find a table as the speaker was 10 feet directly above our table. He said it was like that every seat. On the way out, we ran into the manager who offered to turn the music down. Thanked him but we had already realized we didn’t want to be there. Despite noting it was an anniversary dinner, they sat us in the middle of the restaurant behind the bar under a speaker.

    Food was good but even the happy hour apps were a little pricey for large parties as you have to order multiples. We sat there and waited a long time for our bill not knowing we could get it on the screen at the end of the table. Would have been nice to have been told that. Sliders were very dry and had kind of an off taste and no one cared for the fish tacos but everything else was pretty good.

    It was Mothers' Day and so everything was very far behind - we had to wait an hour between ordering and food arrival. But that happens. We did appreciate our server - she worked hard to keep us happy during the long hour. The food was passable, nothing special. The Miso was not served piping hot. The main course for all of us was ok. But the "ambience" my god it was so loud (and I'm very hard of hearing). There simply is not point to all that loud music mixed in with the TV sounds (we were outside to boot). The Grill is not a bar - it is a place to eat and enjoy company. That was simply impossible.

    Worse meal ever. We had reservations at 6:45 and plates came out after 9:00pm! Then the waitress said the chef forgot one of our meals and had to remake it. Steaks had been over cooked. One had been obviously left under a heat lamp too long and could barely cut it with a knife, vegetable and the plate were all cold and hard. They apologized had us pay a bill over $200 for the two of us and then offered us a coupon for our next visit. Their excuse was the Open Table overbooked the tables.

    It took over an hour to get our food. It was busy. Tons of carry out order went by our table. However, the lemon garlic pasta was good and a touch dry. The stir fry was very good but a bit on the sweet side.

    The restaurant was clearly overbooked and apparently staff walked out that morning. When I advised I had a reservation I was told the kitchen was behind an hour at least. They sat a lot of people without reservations. We sat near the kitchen and could clearly see food was dying at the pass along with a lot of disorganization. Haven’t been here in years and honestly probably won’t return as it was very very overpriced and quality poor.

    the place was overbooked for Mother's Day. They sold out of the Mother's Day brunch menu early, the main reason we went to Kona Grill. The kitchen was seriously backed up. We waited over an hour for our pot stickers appetizer. Some of our entrees were cold by the time we got them. I give this experience 4 stars because the staff was working so hard and everyone from the hostess, bussers, and servers were apologetic and friendly. I was very impressed with their service. It's a little noisy here but that's mostly people just having a good time!

    Never coming back. Service was awful and slow, ordered a margarita and never got it, had to go ask for silverware multiple times. went with a party of 3. they brought out the cold entree first, then appetizer 25 minutes later (edamame) then had to wait an hour for other guest entree and when arrived the food was cold. the eggs Benedict came with hard boiled eggs. talked to the manager and was only given excuses. so disappointed in this visit, will never come back.

    Clearly there was an issue witht he kitchen, place had been overbooked, we waited literally for 2 hours for our food to come, food was in terrible condition and didn't seem fresh, literally ruined mothers day for our family, waitress did the best she could considering, not once did a manager come by to appease us or any of the other tables, very disappointed with what used to be one of my favorite restaurants

    Absolutely horrendous experience. I booked my reservation over 2 months ago. I confirmed my appointment when I was asked to. And somehow, some way, my seating was “accidentally” given to another party, and my family and I were forced to sit outside in the patio area without shade. When the concerns were brought up TWICE to Ralph, the Manager, he was dismissive and refused to provide any sort of compensation. In fact, he mocked my immigrant mother because she had an accent. So, we embarrassingly grabbed an umbrella from our car and ate the mediocre food this rundown establishment provided. Never, ever coming back. I should note: SEVERAL parties around us were unhappy for various reasons. Some because of how long the wait was and others because of the quality of food. A large party of 10 ended up walking across the street to eat at the Italian restaurant because of how awful their experience was. Save yourself a trip here and go to North Italia instead.

    Our experience at Kona Grill was disappointing. Our reservation was for 12:15pm. After being seated, we ordered our brunch at 12:30pm. At 1:30pm there was no sign of our food coming. At 1:45pm we asked our server when would our food come since we have now been there 90 minutes. Our server says at least another 40 minutes to an hour. Waiting 2.5 hours for our food after ordering is unacceptable. We left and won’t be back.

    Sadly, after going to this location a number of times for special occasions, we likely won’t be returning. First, there seemed to be confusion about where to seat us as they waited to initially put us near the 2nd floor bar with our teen. Had to wait for then to sort it out for an indoor table which I had reserved. The restaurant had a limited menu for Mother’s Day, and the portions for two of the entrees were underwhelming. The macadamia nut french toast used small French bread with only 4 slices for a whopping $19 with no sides. The sea bass lacked a starch, but was still $39. I had to share my entree sides so my husband and teen would feel full. The crab on my crab Benedict covered less than half of the English muffin slice. I had to ask for my asparagus that was not brought with my entree, even though it was on the menu, and the potatoes were cold. So disappointed, especially since the cost of the meal was so high relative to other nearby restaurants with similar entrees. Every time the server asked how everything was, I would say it was only okay, but he would round it up to everything was good. The music was way too loud indoors—had to repeat ourselves and lean way in to have conversations at the table. I had asked for the music to be turned down, especially since we were near a speaker, but the music got louder. Not very conducive for social dining for families with children.

    Busy mother's day but we had a 10:00 a.m. reservation so thankfully the restaurant was not crowded yet. sat down and our server came by and let us know she would be right with us. set there for 10 minutes until she arrived to take our drink order. upon finally placing our food order we ordered two appetizers and a side of mashed potatoes for my 10-month-old baby who was starting to get restless. appetizers came out and still no mashed potatoes to calm the little one. server came by after 30 minutes and told us she was sorry for the wait specifically with the mashed potatoes that the chef was already overwhelmed and that the restaurant wasn't even busy yet (her words), definitely not something you want to hear as a waiting, paying customer. food ended up coming out after roughly 45 minutes and my steak was overcooked, eggs have been sitting up under the heat lamp for so long they had a brown dried crust on top, sauce was missing salt and my potatoes were limp and cold. the guys got burgers and their cheese came sitting on top of the meat not melted and cold. this was my first mother's day and first mother's Day brunch and I have to say I was let down with the overall service and food. my girlfriend and I have been here many times for lunch and happy hour and always enjoyed it, really looked forward to Sunday morning but, it was definitely a let down. love this place on any other day, seems like I will be staying away for the holidays.
