   The food and service was excellent but we had hundreds of fruit flies swarming our table. They were landing in our food and drinks. We told management and they didn’t seem to care at all. When you spend that kind of money you don’t expect to be swarmed by bugs. Bummer of a night

   The food was TERRIBLE!!!! I didn’t even eat half of my meal and they threw it away. The manager said she could give us a free dessert. Um no. We paid almost $200 for terrible food. The server was amazing! He was such a nice guy! But he could only do so much. Thanks Vint!

   Reservations and check-in were absolutely worthless. The check-in outside told us to go inside (and wait on line again). There were 4 people at the check-in desk and no one knewcwhat was going on. We left and walked over to The Keg. (With fantastic service)

   Our server was attentive and very polite. We chatted about wineries and some of the wines on the menu. We ordered drinks and then reviewed the AZ Restaurant Week menu. We each tried different appetizers. The prime rib meatballs were excellent, The sweet and blue salad was delicious. It was full of blue cheese, bacon and apples. For our main course we both tried the prime rib. I ordered mine medium rare, my husband medium. Both were perfectly cooked and huge! Desert choices were double brownies and cheesecake. We tried both. The brownies were to die for! Dinner was perfect. We plan to go back soon!

    My daughter, my daughter-in-law and myself were excited to get out for a girls night. We arrived early and we’re seated immediately. Our waiter was Matt R. I think. He was pleasant, and took our drink and meal order. Then we waited over an hour for our food. The reservation was for 6:30 and our food was served at about 7:40. Our chicken was delicious however my daughter-in-laws potatoes were burnt crisp, charred, unbeatable and black! She couldn’t eat them! I’m from Idaho and it’s a sin to throw away a good potato! But what was done to that poor potato was the greater sin! We ordered the brownie dessert and the Butter cake. We were sent home with the brownie dessert and cheesecake. I wanted to try the Butter cake because it sounds delicious! (The desserts were packaged ‘to go’ and we didn’t double check them.) The evening was disappointing and the music was so loud we couldn’t hear each other speak. We had a lovely evening because of who we were with but the dinner was lackluster and disappointing.

    Went for Arizona Restaurant week. We had a reservation, but they were going to make us wait to be seated, even though there were a lot of open tables. We ended up sitting at the bar outside. Bartender was good, however, kitchen was very, very slow. It took forever to get our food, which was “just ok”.

    Food was not good. Steaks over cooked and had consistency of a pork chop. Was warm at best and not worth the overpriced cost. Very disappointed, considering this used to be so good. Stay away.

    I love this place even more. The hosts last night really made it work above and beyond!!! The music is always a little loud for my tastes, but it’s not that big of a deal. Food was sooooo goood like always. Sea bass is a favorite.

    Reservation process was super quick and the hostess brought us to our table really fast. The only downfall was there was multiple flies & gnats/mosquitoes around our table. I think we were close to the kitchen, but it was a bit of a bother throughout trying to eat our food. Service was awesome and quick!

    My wife and I used to love Kona Grill, but I don't think we'll be back after the disaster on Mother's Day. We took my parents and our daughter for dinner, and none of us enjoyed the experience. When we arrived, we were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation time, which was to be expected on a busy day. What wasn't expected was the 30 minutes that we sat waiting for someone to take our drink order. When we finally had enough, we hunted down a staff member who assured us that our server would be right over. Ten minutes later, a very flustered young woman came over to the table and apologized, saying that she was a little overwhelmed because she'd only been working there for 5 days. We asked the server to go ahead and take our food order at the same time as our beverage order because we feared that, otherwise, we might be spending the night at the restaurant. When she took our order, it was clear that she didn't yet know the food offerings very well, as we had to point to items on the menu so she could write them down. While we did receive our beverages quite promptly, we had to wait a long 45 minutes for our food, which we received with no silverware. It then took us another 15 minutes to find a staff member who would actually get us the needed cutlery, so by the time we ate, the food was cold. Speaking of the food, once upon a time the portions were generous at Kona Grill, but no more. The prices have ballooned, while the entree sizes, especially on the Macadamia Nut Chicken, have shrunk dramatically. After we all ate what there was of our food, we wanted to leave promptly. We paid the bill, even paying for the item that was supposed to be comped, because my parents don't like making a fuss at restaurants. Given the poor service and terrible value, we opted to go elsewhere for dessert. What a horrible experience.

    Usually a 5 start restaurant. Mother's day madness made this place a bit of a hot mess. Waited 30 minutes past reservation time to be seated. I had to ask for drink refills, napkins/utensils and soy sauce more than once. They brought refills, napkins and soy sauce but ran out of clean utensils (good thing we had sushi roles and not something that required a fork or spoon). Have definitely had better dining experiences here.

    Went there for Mother’s Day and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had during the last 25 years of being a mother going out to lunch or dinner. I had to return my food twice bec they couldn’t get it right. My drink tasted like water I also had to return that. All I can say was VERY DISAPPOINTING and will definitely NOT going back nor recommend that place.

    It was Mother's Day and very crowded. We arrived at 12:30. Our waitress was quick and took drink orders. 30 minutes later she was able to take our food order. 1 hour later we were served our food. The waitress apologized frequently for the time it was taking for our food to be prepared. When it arrived it was just average for much above average prices. We will not be going back.

    Food was cold and I had to wait 5 minutes for salt, pepper and butter and the butter was melted and I wanted it to spread on my muffin. We ordered the avocado spring rolls that cost $18 and it was only 2 cut in half. Not very impressed.

    I’m updating my review from Mother’s Day. I didn’t have the best experience on Mother’s Day and Ryan ( restaurant manager) reached out to me fully apologetic of the experience I had. He reached out to me offering me to come in for another experience on him. My husband and I came in and were immediately seated. Our waitress was Emily who was absolutely amazing. We were given complimentary champagne and I was only expecting my meal to be comped but Ryan covered me & my husband. The atmosphere was amazing, music was live and this was an overall great experience and I will definitely be back . Thank you to Ryan and the Kona grill staff.

    Restaurant is pretty. Food and service overall was poor to fair. Service was slow. We waited for cocktails. Dinners came at staggered times. Mac and cheese was watery. Salmon was good but Turmeric rice was dry. Pad Thai was not good. No one in our party will return.

    Went with group of 7, three of us ordered the Sushi and Salad plate, all three orders came without the salad portion, waitress said it was on the way. We all finished the sushi, reminded waitress again. Once everyone had finished eating, the waitress offered to box up the salads before she brought them out. Two of us just declined the salads as it was too late at that point.

    Food was expensive. Paid $18 for 6 pot stickers. Waited a very long time to get the food after order was placed. Besides the fries that is all we got. I wanted to order a salad but it took too long to get the potstickers I was afraid to order anything else.

    Service from server to management great. One steak over cooked but taken care of by staff. Overall food was very good. Would definitely recommend. Would offer some small side salads on the menu. Shrimp tacos and sushi very good. Calimari would give a 7. A little over fried ( larger thicker rings cook better). Ordered surf & turf filet wagyu and was served a strip steak but was very good when cooked medium rare. We will be back.

    Meals are pricey at Kona grill - which would be ok if the food was served warm and tasty but sadly this place disappoints on both. What was most upsetting was that someone approached our table while eating to see if we wanted to buy a bracelet- we were sitting inside and a young girl was going table to table asking if people wanted to purchase her homemade bracelets for camp. She was not a diner but someone who appeared from off the street. I was taken aback but more concerned for her than anything and surprised the restaurant would allow her to enter.
