Food quality has decreased significantly. Food was not worth the money or the wait. Everything including sushi, appetizers, and entrees were low quality and not what we expected based on previous experiences here.

Went for lunch - first time visit. Overall food was very good, we had a couple of rolls, sashimi, fried rice and edamame. Each were flavorful and fresh. That was the strong suit. The interior seems outdated and tired. Not the fault of Kona, but currently you look out into a construction zone which is not appealing. Service was meh. Food came out promptly but waiter brought wrong drink , forgot to bring a requested extra plate and generally was absent Last is the price. Just not worth what you have to pay. Wasn’t paying attention and ordered edamame. Delicious, but $15!!!! That is just outrageous. I felt like a fool. Hopefully they can refresh the place and adjust prices on certain items

The food quality was so much lower than when we used to go to the Kona Grill near Desert Ridge. The noice level was way too high and prices were high compared to better restaurants like Roaring Fork.

Although the food ordered was very good indeed, (many compliments to wonderful Chef Rob), the highlight of this first date dinner experience was our server Shayne! What a treasure this guy is for sure! Upbeat, informative, and just a very genuine person! I bet all of Hawaii, is missing Shayne, since that is where he is from! Thank you so much Shayne, for making a first date experience very relaxing and amazing! We appreciate you going above and beyond.

The meatballs were a little tough and the whipped potatoes had no flavor; the chicken stir fry was too heavy on ginger but the sweet and bleu salad and prime rib were both very good.

This was our first time eating at Kona Grill. We wanted to try the restaurant week menu and all 4 of us enjoyed the choices available for each course, portion sizes (huge!) and preparation of each meal and ability to make slight adjustments if needed for restrictions to diet. Our server, Shane, was exceptionally friendly, very knowledgeable on menu and a great server! He checked in on us, made sure we liked each course and just a seemed easy going yet very aware that we have a good experience. He helped to make the entire evening top notch! We will be back.

The restaurant is near a part of the mall that is being renovated so there was noise from the open area of the walls, understandable. The food was good, but expensive for what we were served. The service was poor, very slow. We finally walked our ticket and payment to the server on our way out.

Dined on AZ Restaurant Week menu. A great value. Music was louder than I prefer and heavy on the bass. Service was excellent. Highly recommend the stacked brownie dessert.

We had never been to Kona Grill before. Desiree was our server. She was very attentive and explained the menu. Well, the food was excellent. There is a major remodel going on. We were not aware of it. It didn’t affect where we were dining at but the approach was weird.

Server Tyler was great, very helpful. Only one thing I would change. I asked for iced tea to go and he brought a cup of Lipton Tea. I know the taste of it (not great). You menu says you have "rotating selections." Tyler did not say anything about the selections, only that there was a huge pot of tea that gets thrown out at the end of the night. It was unsatisfying. I request a better selection of "rotating selections" and make sure all servers know what they are. Also, at the beginning, the music was thundering loudly with way too much drums. I asked for it to be turned down and was told the DJ said no. This is unacceptable. It was causing me a headache. Later the style of music changed to something more tolerable and pleasant, not headache producing. I suggest a new DJ. Your customers are always right, remember.

Didn’t know what to expect from a Mall restaurant, but would definitely recommend. We started with edamame, which is served Traditional or Angry. We weren’t daring enough to choose Angry, so we opted for Traditional, which was good - lightly salted. My mother enjoyed the Miso Sake Chilean Sea Bass. It is served with Bok Choy, but she substituted fried rice. I enjoyed the Shrimp Tacos (3). The shrimp are sautéed in Angry butter, which gives them a little bite. Thought is also given to presentation. We were seated next to the large cylindrical fish tank, which added to the ambience. It was a very pleasant experience.

Great Food (Rainbow roll, edemame, pot stickers). Our server was very good, friendly and attentive although the restaurant was pretty dead on a Sunday evening at 7:30pm. That might have been due to construction outside and being connected to a mall. Our meal was spendy though for 4 at $208 + tip and 3 beers.

Honestly this was disappointing. The food was over priced, portions small. Our waitress didn’t check in. We didn’t receive refills until after the meal was done. We put the kids meals in while ordering drinks because they were hungry. Didn’t see the waitress again to take our orders until they were finished eating. It was my sisters bday, she was told when we were seated that she would get a free dessert, we waited 20 mins after the meal was finished, the waitress didn’t check in so we checked out on the kiosk and left. Not much of a happy birthday celebration.

We had dinner on the upper level bar area (our choosing) and the staff was excellent! We ordered the Kona Poke bowl and it was delicious 😋. We told the server that we were going to share and they brought it out in two separate plates - a very nice surprise. Cost was reasonable for Scottsdale so the value was good.

After waiting many months to try this restaurant after recommendations, disappointed is being gentle. The food literally made me ill for two days after attempting to have several dishes one after the other went down hill. The meatballs were the only thing that tasted good. Too bad the ending wasn’t so pleasant. Will not be returning unless I’m feeling lucky. The “Market Fish” in the fresh fish section…SALMON. Which is everywhere on the menu so nothing special or different from all the other restaurants that serve salmon. PS the “wagyu” upgrade is NOT FRESH nor is it wagyu.

Scottsdale Fashion Square has some construction by the entrance but once you go inside, you forget all about it. Luckily we were able to just walk right in. The waiter we had was fantastic. There are so many great items on the menu, but we went for the sushi rolls and needless to say they were all delicious. I would highly recommend Kona Grill if you have a sushi craving.

Great customer service and tastey food. My only complaint is that we paid an additional $8 for shrimp to be added to the fried rice and the shrimp was ti y and cut up. There was not much of it on the bowl. The California rolls were yummy!

Made a reservation for dinner from the photos looked really nice. We were expecting a nice experience. It took us a half hour to find the place because it was located in a shopping mall next to a food park underneath the escalators on a side hallway. It felt like it was in the bowls of the shopping mall. It was still under construction and loud disco music playing. It was more like a cheap sports bar. Service was slow and would never go back. Very disappointed.
