   The service was horrible. Second time in a row that the server didn’t take our order until we were sitting at the table for over 40 mins. Then when the food came it was messed up.

   Dined there for my friends 45th birthday last night. We left a HUGE tip and stayed longer at our table. Waitress never thanked us, cleared or asked if we wanted/needed anything else….not even water. Huge disappointment since I have been eating there for 15 years regularly!

   The food is always great here. However, the knats or nets flying around were a nuisance. There were a couple of parties there which made the noise level louder than usual. The waitress was also very friendly. I’d still come back. The carrot cake is amazing.

   I frequent here at least twice a month. Very good sushi, I recommend the Yamada roll. It’s especially great in the warmer months because they open the large from windows and outdoor patio sitting area, beautiful around sunset hours. Also try the lettuce wraps! Delish!

   Servers did not help us even when we tried talking to them we were ignored. We used the call server button and no servers came for over 20 minutes, until the manager showed up and had to be the one to serve us. The server had an attitude with us and ignored us until she saw the manager came up. We had three different servers that all ignored us. Sushi was warm, chicken was cold. We did not get water refilled until right when we were leaving.

   Food was good, when its says spicy they mean spicy. It was more than expected but still bearable. The drinks were great, I suggest you try the flight of margaritas they won’t disappoint.

    As a former server, I have lots of patience for others in the industry, but the service at Kona was some of the worst I’ve had. Our server was MIA our entire meal. We never had full drinks or water, and our appetizer never came until after our meal was on the table. We had to disturb another server 4 times to find ours. The food was expensive and not as flavorful as usual. All in all, an off night.

    Drinks were made wrong, food was cold, meal timing was off between guest meals at the table 10+ minutes, service was slow, and the ambient noise was too loud. Gnats and flies in the bar area, gross. No offer of a credit, complimentary desert, I’m sorry or what can we do to make it better. This place has really gone down hill. Won’t be back and you shouldn’t either.

    We went for Mother's Day so I knew it would be a little chaotic, but that's also the reason why we came 15 minutes early to check in. Check in was chaotic, but we managed to do it. Let me first start by saying the night was made due to our waitress. She really had the best attitude and made everything better. It is really rare for me to write negative reviews, but unfortunately, the hosts up front were a rude and it was upsetting. I can understand being overwhelmed, but at one point when I just wanted to check in, one of the ladies rolled their eyes at me after I had asked. Another lady had initially assured me I would get a text message when our table was ready but then we quickly found out that they were calling names and if someone didn't answer, they'd move on to the next group- I never did end up getting that text message either. We waited patiently and were seated around 8:45p, so we were waiting for about 40 mins, checking in only twice regarding updates. Would I go back there? Absolutely. The food is amazing, and the waitress was so wonderful to us. But the crew up front may benefit from stress management techniques. As opposed to rolled eyes they could've just said plainly how many tables were in front of us, we would've patiently waited an hour because we know the world is understaffed, but the attitude was the problem. All in all, great food and great service from wait staff, will be going back for dinners but definitely not holidays.

    The food is good we went on Mother’s Day and I just think they accepted to many reservations at the same time slots we had to wait once we arrived at our reservation time 6:45p at least 30mins but they did offer champagne while we waited.

    I made reservations a month in advance to celebrate a birthday. Kona texted me about 15 times reminding me and telling me I could not be late. We arrived 15 minutes early and had to wait 1/2 an hour for a table. Very upset we had to stand and wait. All in all we spent over 2 hours waiting this does lend to a very enjoyable evening. Food was good and waitress nice but spent a lot of time apologising. Probably will not be back.

    Granted Mother’s Day will be an extremely busy day, I find it inexcusable the level of service Kona had this day. From start to finish this was a 3 hour ordeal. 1 hour delay in seating with a reservation. Additional 1 hour delay after placing food order only to be served both the appetizer AND main course at the same time. For three people, 2 of the main courses were brought completely incorrect and overcooked as well as missing elements listed on the menu with dish. A medium rare Prime Rib was served well done. Ribeye was missing all sides. Manager offered to bring over new Prime Rib, additional 20 mins. Ordering dessert yielded another 30 minute wait only to have similar issue with the dishes lacking prep/items. I have been a Kona customer for many years and it disappoints me to leave such a negative review. Very disappointing experience and the restaurant should have been more prepared.

    Mother's Day, Reservation for 10. Seated quickly, however, it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to be served! We were about to walk out. I understand it's MD, but come on almost 2 hours waiting to eat? Macadamia Chicken best dish on the table.

    I haven't been to Kona Grill in years. What a big disappointment. My family of 4 were expected to be squeeze in a tiny table in the bar for Mothers Day. My son kept getting hit by people every time they walked by. And for Mothers Day I had to ask for a rose myself when everyone around me was getting one.     My husband and I decided to give Kona Grill a try after friends gave it promising reviews. We figured we try it for Mother's Day brunch. The food was less than desirable- bland and basic. I ordered from the special Mother's Day brunch menu and it was disappointing. Very few menu options to pick from and each seemed over priced but we figured perhaps the presentation and taste would make up for it...we were mistaken. We were told both at the hostesses station and again at our table that due to the high volume of the holiday, we, in so many words, needed to hurry- very low class. We felt rushed by our waiter as he asked for our order several times within minutes of us sitting down and rushed the check to us. We stayed under an hour, for a family of four. Frankly, aside from being pushed out the door, we were ready to leave. With there being a plethora of good restaurant options within walking distance of Kona Grill, I would give them a hard pass if offered to go again.

    First time coming and loved it. Chilean bass sliders were very yummy. Also enjoyed the strawberry Margarita. The carrot cake was the best carrot cake I ever had. I will definitely be back sometime.

    Service has not been as great as in the past. Took a long time for food to come out, had to ask for items 2 or three times. The food quality is always good but the wait between dishes, way too long. Dessert portions are 50% less than what they used to be.

    Our reservation was at 7:00. We were sat at 8:00. So many people waiting. We were sat by the bar and my chair was bumped several times by people passing. The waiter approached us and said everything from the kitchen is an hour wait. So, an hour wait for our table, an hour wait for food. Not acceptable. We won’t be back. My chicken satay was delicious. I’m may get a carry out in the future. Never will I dine in. Ridiculous!

    Had to wait 30 minutes for a table despite having a reservation. Once seated, service was extremely slow- both the bar and the kitchen were moving at a snail’s pace. Server was pleasant and apologetic. Poor service seems to be a trend here ever since the pandemic

    I’d dine at Kona grill if their service and cleanliness was improved. We sat at a bar table next to a sink overflowing with dumped ice, used straws/limes, etc. It was disgusting! The service is very slow every time we come here. It takes 15 mins to get a drink you order. I ordered a glass of wine, so this seems very slow.

    It was a bday celebration. They set up the table with 2 very uneven tables for 8 guests. it was so awkward. It was 3-4 inches different for the 2 guests that had to eat on the uneveness. The restaurant was empty so we asked to move to different table set-up. Which they did. Thank you! We had to keep our coats on. It was so cold and uncomfortable to enjoy a bday dinner. The waitress said she was trying to get the heat on. It's Michigan and 40 degrees we still need heat. Our waitress was great, very nice and attentive. Food was ok. Just couldn't eat the fireside sushi dish. Tasted all like lighter fluid. Other than that food was pretty good. As the restaurant got busier the heat kicked on lol. Not my best bday but at least I had my family with me.

    I had the tomato bisque in the ribeye meatballs. I must say both dishes were extremely delicious. I’ve never seen the meatballs on the menu before, perhaps it’s new, but I’m glad it’s a new option on the menu. I will come back.
