Koto Sushi Lounge
Usually a good experience of service and good food but today was different. Perhaps they were short staffed. Item's are usually served up all at once, but this time we had to continually ask for the other dishes to be brought out. As a result the meal took over an hour to receive (on 2 at our table, and the restaurant was only 1/2 full. Server never returned to refill our water or ask how our meal was.
Probably will not return.
It’s ok. Over priced ok sushi. Much better options available around town
Please try our happy hour menu from 3PM to 8:30 PM .
Food is fairly expensive (it is a downtown restaurant) but the sushi was bland and not worth it. Service is friendly but somewhat slow given it was lunchtime.
Don't order any raw sushi or raw oysters. It was old, the salmon maki rolls were made with leftover salmon bits and raw oysters were very old--not worth the happy hour deal. Also ordered a few pieces of sushi, the sushi rice wasn't properly seasoned and didn't hold its shape. Only redeeming quality was the specialty rolls and that's because it was cooked. The table next to us ordered tempura and it looked very appetizing.
If you want real sushi, don't go here. However, this may be the place to eat if you like specialty (cooked) rolls and tempura.
Koto provides OK sushi. Some of the rolls are pretty tasty. However, I would say their menu is on the high side in terms of pricing. Probably 20% to 30% overpriced in my opinion. Sushi is OK, not spectacular, but not terrible. Good to go if someone else is buying lunch. I would never go on my own dime, too expensive.
Staff was amazing and food was great! I loooved the calamari and seaweed salad and sushi. Thank you!
The food is extremely overrated & over priced. Wouldn’t recommend them.
It’s a great restaurant if you’re not bringing a small child. Food was excellent, but it took over 15min after sitting down for someone to come take our order, which is long when you have a hungry child. The restaurant was at less than 30% capacity at the time so it was not very busy.
A rare case of a venue's fate getting better and better over time! I strongly recommend Koto for business lunches!
Came here for the Uni festival. The Uni and scallops were fresh, service was lacking.
Food was delicious, service was perfect
Like the fact it’s not too loud
Great food. Service a bit slow, but that was okay.
Tried the Happy Hour menu this time. For the price and size of servings, we will stick to the regular menu. It’s better value for the money.
I work and live DT and always bring people to this location. The food is amazing and service is on point.
Great service and great sushi.
Always consistently great and reliable. Best coconut shrimp and tempura in town.
The male server at night has some attitude problems. He is not really nice in treating customers.
Also, I agreed with other dinner's comments "Don't like they put tips amount on the bill. either 15% or 20% which makes the customer not happy as if both your service and food are good...".
Great central spot. Good fresh ingredients and very fast service.
Great food, great service! Thanks Miwa!
Great restaurant and amazing food!
Great food, presentation. Good service and delicious Asahi.
This was our first visit. It was dinner on a Saturday night. It felt like the staff were too busy since most things we needed required asking more than once. However, the food quality was very good so because of that it was still a pleasant trip.
Great service and food, as always. Very happy with overall experience.
Food was great. Service was a bit slow but it was the lunch rush. I brought 6 people who hadn’t been to Koto before and they were all commenting on how good it was and how much they enjoyed it.
Always consistently great; our go to for sushi. They also have low sodium soy.
Great food and great service from Miwa!
Service was excellent
Best Sushi in Calgary
Love this place! Best sushi in town! I would this to anyone who enjoys great food. Thanks Tom
Always consistently good, but what's with only one working toilet in the ladies loo?
It is a nice place to go for sushi downtown. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Food was delicious.
It's getting better especially with Raman noodles part of the menu
Really nice service, quick, fast and quality food!!! Feeling really bad because I didn't bring enough cash for tips but my family and I really enjoyed this place! Would come back again and tip way better!! Everyone there is very friendly!
Koto had 2 servers for the entire restaurant, plus they did the bartending...on a busy busy Saturday night. The cooks finally delivered the food that had been sitting around waiting for pickup. These 2 ladies ran their feet off the entire time we were at the restaurant. No bussing staff so a third of the place had dirty tables.
Great service, good sushi! The value and quality was also good. Thanks!
I’ve been here for lunch a few times and thought it was good. Went for dinner and it was terrible. The menu is much smaller for dinner and surprisingly they don’t put their good stuff on it. Was very disappointed and it still cost nearly 100 for 2 people. Would recommend for lunch but skip this place for dinner.
Great place to meet for lunch. Service is relatively fast and the food is fantastic!
This reservation was for high top table and we were not seated there.
Service was great, food was delivered very quick. Coconut shrimp is a must!
Very quiet. Serves were not attentive unfortunately.
