   Sashimi was super fresh and everything we ordered was beautifully plated. Very nice environment and excellent service made this a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

   Dinner was fabulous! Brought our eight year old granddaughter for birthday! The Special birthday mango ice cream was delicious! Service was the best we’ve had in a long time. And the food is always good!

   Best sushi we have had in a long time. Such great selections of different kinds of rolls. Service was excellent and our waitress very attentive. We liked that the staff helped one another. When a roll was ready it was delivered by whomever was available so we did not have to wait.

   I can’t believe a Japanese restaurant has fake wasabi. Also, the restaurant was dirty. Food all over the floor.

   Portions we’re large despite other reviews I read. Tempura was great . Best Sukiyaki in salt lake. I’ve been going here for 30 years. Change in management hasn’t affected quality

   The food was horrible. The chicken from the chicken teriyaki meal was dry and chewy. The meat tasted old. It was overpriced.

   We had a reservation, but when we got there we were simply put at the end of the wait list, and had to wait 20+ minutes, despite the fact that there were numerous empty tables. Seems there is no point in making a reservation.

    Kyoto is a fabulous sushi spot. The pricing is unbeatable! The sashimi melts in your mouth. The spicy tuna // fiery rolls are impeccable. The pink roll is also delicious. The chilled Pearl Sake is the perfect dipping drink throughout the meal. You really can’t go wrong here.

    We had an amazing time dining on Friday night! Our party of "just the ladies" hadn't gotten together for a long time and the private-ish room afforded us the space to bond over some of the best Japanese you can get in the state! It reminded us of when our grandfather would go to Mikado downtown for traditional dishes. The flavors and service did not disappoint. Thank you!

    I've been to Kyoto 4-5 times now, but this was my first time making a reservation. Every time I've gone, the service has been excellent, the waiters & waitresses have been timely & extremely friendly, and the food has been cooked & prepared pretty much to perfection. I'd be perfectly content eating there every day if I could afford it.

    I've been going to the restaurant for years, probably even a decade. This time was not so great. I was running a little late and called the restaurant to alert them. The host told me " okay, but we will need this table by xx:xx time " . Kind of rude, I get it's a Vday but I wasn't going to hog the space. When we got there, we were seated, the food came fast but the rolls were falling apart. Definitely not the quality I am typically used to. I will be back for udon, but not really expecting much.

    Pretty good experience. They were confused when I asked for the vegan menu, and brought a gluten free menu… all in all decent. My husband loved his steak and salmon.

    Kyoto is very consistently a great place to eat. I went with my son and we both loved our food. They really need to upgrade their booths and dining room, it’s starting to look worn down. I know it’s been hard for restaurants during Covid so I definitely plan on going back and support them. Food quality has always been fantastic.

    Delicious meal & wonderful service! Everything we ordered from the Sushi to Tempura & Teriyaki was fresh & amazing. Our group shared 4 different deserts with the Chocolate sushi & Ginger rice pudding being the favorites.

    I have been going to Kyoto for over 15 years. But the food quality has been done down. I don’t think I will go back. Tempura was not crispy, miso soup was salty and sashimi was poor.

    The food was good! Priced very well. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately it was a bit tight and definitely needs a good clean. There were splatters on the walls, and smelled like an old apartment building. Great service and very sweet. I could see eating here again if we can’t get reservations elsewhere.

    A gem of a restaurant in Salt Lake. Classic architecture and ambience compliments the well-executed Japanese cuisine. Our nigiri, sushi rolls and bento box were all delicious.
