La Bettola di Terroni Ratings and Reviews
Food was good but service could be improved . Something as easy as having our pizza cut in slices was not an option. Not customer friendly
Too close to other obnoxious patrons at other table. Expected something good more spacious. 18 dollars for Caprese salad was a bit much. I enjoyed it but... Nice spot overall.
Delicious food. Service was great and very attentive. Noise level was typical with Italian restaurants so it's more suitable for a fun night out than a romantic date.
the marinara pizza is inedible - the Nizzarda salad uninteresting and poorly dressed - the service was bordering on rude - the order awkward with our server being impatient and disinterested
Friendly staff and a casual atmosphere make this a great place to get together with friends. Most menu items are made with just a few ingredients for a fresh taste.
Food comes out way too fast. Having a menu that reads the way it does, you'd expect time and love put into your plates...not fast food that comes out in less then 10 minutes. Made us feel like food is sitting on the racks pre-made. I understand you are busy (theaters, etc) and want a turnover but not every guests is in a rush. We were advised of a 2 hour turnover and came in understanding this. But to rush us in an hour?
We ordered 2 appetizers at different times and 3 entrees; nothing was ordered all at once. We were done in just over an hour. Will point out that server was great and that your pasta is fantastico!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Grabbing supper before going to the theatre. It got louder as it got busier which is totally expected and was fine.
A very nice evening with great food.
We really enjoyed the fresh pasta and the flavourful sauces and unique ingredients!
Show at Mervish
The lady on the reception desk was really rude and lied to us...Trying to justify her behaviour ... so embarrassing.... this is the first time I have had to complain on open table reservations.... I would never go back , too many nice experiences at others
Overall a good spot pre-show at Massey Hall. Food was tasty, but presentation slightly lacking. Tomato salad could have used a few more basil leaves. Wine by the glass - too expensive.
Service was friendly and attentive.
Loved everything about this restaurant! Service was friendly, fast and attentive. Dinner was outstanding, especially the roasted cauliflower and Brussel sprout salad. Wine choices were excellent also. Lively, warm and cozy rooms with great bar area.
Tasty food, but the pasta was cold when it was served. Was asked if I wanted cheese & pepper, but the manner was a bit abrupt. Good wine selection from Sicily suggested.
Would go back also referred my kids and significant others, they went and loved too.
Service was terrible- there was a large party who was seated next to us, we had to keep tucking in our chairs to let people pass and I think they were taking up the wait staffs attention. The waitress initially came over right as soon as we got to the table, literally I was still taking my coat off and she was like do you want anything to drink- so we asked for a few minutes. She didn’t come back for 15 minutes. It was like this the whole night- we ordered our food and drink at the same time. Food was served by other wait staff. She never checked on us. It took 15 minutes for us to get the bill and another 15 for use to get the card machine. Basically we chose the place because of the quiet atmosphere and reliable food- both of which were good- but I would not go again
Service bad food mediocre T best
The food was great - too bad the service did not match it this time. We seemed to have been forgotten and I had to get up and find our server. After that she seemed to not really be in to serving us. Too bad as this really is a great place.
The food wasn’t all that great. The pizza was a bit underdone. The Caprese salad could’ve used more than one leaf of basil (it was mostly tomatos with almost non existing dressing).
They don’t have balsamic vinegar for the food or the pizza. The tagliatelle ai funghi was very very bland.
The food took over 45 min, and the cutlery was dirty.
Disappointed, food was below average, service dismal, ambiance was nice. One out of three ain’t bad, but not when you are in the food and service business. The only bright spot was when we arrived, I had made a reservation for 4 but we end d up needing 6, at first the hostess said can’t be done, but after pushing the manager arrived and figured out that we could sit at a sharing table, but we had to push for it. I would go back ever.
Everything was great but the lack of diet soft drinks was a downer.
One server for all tables. He was overwhelmed and slow.
The food was tasty but very expensive, especially as it was noisy and you sit at long, shared picnic tables. Not a good ambience for the cost.
Beautiful meal, great and very knowledgable staff, overall fun night!
Was rudely told we don’t serve aspartame when I️ asked for a Diet Coke. When my husband bought me one next door I️ was told I️ could not have It on the table.
They also don’t allow butter or white sugar. I️ find It impossible to believe that they don’t use white sugar in their baking they just won’t provide it to their paying customers.
We were four eating adults but when the child with us said she wasn’t having anything the waitress grabbed the plate and napkin from in front of her.
Whole experience was ridiculous
Terrible customer service. We made our reservation through open table at 8:00pm and by 8:15pm, our table was not ready. When we complained with the hostess, she was extremely rude to us and did not even welcome us. She ruined our evening and food was just ok. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Had a wonderful time at La Bettola di Terroni! Terrific food and ambience. Our server was fabulous, explaining the menu options and making recommendations! Loved it and would definitely recommend it to friends and family! Will definitely go back!
Also booking the reservation was very easy and convenient using Open Table.
Ridiculously slow service and a mediocre meal ($26 burrata on rock hard bread!) We were seated on the side that is brightly lit and has the ambiance of a mall food court. Wish I knew that was what I reserving on OpenTable. Not worth the high price point considering how many great places there are to eat in the city. Used to be a go-to spot but I doubt I'll return.
Lack of respect to your clients:
No complaints regarding the food and or service, however very disappointed in a couple of things... One the lack of "everyday essentials" that should be in any restaurant, especially one that promotes itself to the theatre district fine dining crowd. Example would be; martini glass. (so I had my martini in a regular glass) , finer spirits like Jack Daniels, no clamato juice for ceasar drinks, and oddly - Ginger ale ??? Do not understand how a restaurant that does serve mixed drinks could not carry ginger ale... just some very basic things that should be readily available.
Finally, we had several guests that had a seafood pasta and requested parmesan cheese with their meal and were denied. (Theory I guess is cheese and seafood don't mix... I understand the chef not purposely choosing to serve it with cheese, but I DO NOT understand the decision to simply tell your guests no.) I thought this was Rude, Pretentious and Obnoxious and embarrassed me to my guests, let alone embarrassed my guests. Essentially you insinuated they were not "educated" with food.
For this reason I will not be dining here again.
Food was tasty, portions small, service just ok, menu did not have a lot of options. Expensive for what you get. Will not return.
Reminded me of the meals we'd eaten while in Tuscany. Very authentic and delicious.
The Cacio e Pepe is deliciously authentic and was the reason for my visit - it did not disappoint! The service was polite and unobtrusive, with excellent wine advice. Living six hours away is a challenge, but I will return!
A great spot before the theatre—it never disappoints!
Food was terrific. Service? Not so much. Wasn't provided any information about specials - had to ask.
Requested fresh parm cheese; had to wait too long to get it. Really, it should have been offered when all the pasta dishes were delivered to the table.
1/5 orders was not what was ordered; waitress insisted she was correct. She wasn't.
Overall, the lack of service took away from the experience. Food was delicious. Desserts were also amazing!!
Unfortunately although the food is good there wasn't a decent menu option for the light lunch eg. Salad type with option to add.meat salmon or shrimp
That being said definitely WAY over priced for the work lunch. 2 waters, 2 pastas dishes 2 coffees came to 70.00 .... in my opinion there are numerous other places to lunch/dine and get a better bang for your buck.
My first visit and will be my last.
What a fantastic restaurant! Great food, superb wine list and a wonderful atmosphere. We loved it.
Great food and without a long wait. Great service. Loud and difficult to hear conversations unless you sit across from each other.
Another great meal, our favorite restaurant in Toronto. Just down the street from the back door of Ed Mirvish theater, Victoria near Queen. Wonderful Wines, great menu and service
Handy location across from the Cambridge Suites. Very good Italian food nicely served. I ordered dinnerfrom the daily special menu.
Food and prices are okay. What bothered us a lot was that 2in our group wanted Parmesan on their fish pasta. We know it's not supposed to be, but if a customer wants it, she should get it. Really dictatorial, we were denied it. Unheard of, eben in Italia. We will never return.
Perfect quick dinner with my wife before a show.
