La Cuchara is the best restaurant in Baltimore. The atmosphere is light but sophisticated. The food is fresh, simple, and flavorful. To add to this, the service is attentive without being overbearing and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly with food/wine recommendations to fit your taste. This restaurant’s whole vibe will make you want to wine and dine with friends or that special someone all night. Go here immediately. Tell your friends.

Very good menu. We ordered a lot of small plates and were happy with all our choices. The service was attentive but not intrusive. My only disappointment was our server, while pleasant, did not answer the several questions we had as it related to what was Basque fare.

La Richard is our favorite! Service and food are always fantastic- they made up some mocktails for my wife when she was pregnant and identified and made a cocktail that used to be on the menu that was my favorite! Every experience here has been fantastic!

Our experience at La Cuchara was interesting. My husband and I went on a Saturday evening for Valentine's dinner. We had an early reservation (5:15) and when we showed up the restaurant was mostly empty. The hostess brought us to one of the back rooms and when we asked to be in the main section of the restaurant (almost empty except for one couple) she got extremely flustered but then eventually brought us over. I really don't understand why restaurants do this! Why hide people in the back, especially when all the tables are available and they are the first to arrive? We ordered the selection of pinxtos and then two of the smaller plates (calamari and brussel sprouts). The food was fabulous - flavourful and fresh. We ended with a delicious selection of 2 cheeses and 1 charcuterie. Cocktails were excellent and the wines by the glass were good as well. The service was, for lack of a better word, very strange. Our "main" waitress was nice enough, but we must have had 10 people serve us over the course of the evening. 2 of our waiters seemed painfully nervous/awkward and one of them asked during appetizers if I was done with my water (?) Needless to say, I was extremely confused. When I asked what he meant he replied "are you still drinking it?" Why would you take someone's water away 2 mins into their meal (or at all, for that matter?) I would come back here for the food and the beautiful space - the fare is delicious, authentic spanish food that is fresh and well-presented. They simply need to work on improving their service.

A great place for a date. Plates well suited to sharing with lots of variety. Croquettes melt in your mouth, as does the duck confit. The bar is great, both for ambience and for the quality of the drinks. Bar seating less intimate than the tables but nice for a group.

Delicious and different. The duck confit was wonderful and the small plates and appetizers are a great way to share food and try different things.

First time visiting and will return. Ellen our server was great and took the time to explain everything. Small plate sampler is a good way to try a little of everything. Overall good food with great service with a smile. Will return.

We decided to go here at the last minute as it was close to the highway to get downtown. We were seated right away and had a delicious meal. Our server was very helpful with our questions and the food was excellent. We will definitely be returning!

Our food was delicious -- we just did the tapas sampler and a salad and enjoyed the house made bread with all. Tapas selection and quality all very delicious -- a pleasing variety between meat, cheese, veg and some shellfish too. Wines by the glass were good. Our server was attentive and professional. Top notch. Only critique is that the front of the house was not professional or particularly courteous -- they made a bad first impression and are lucky that the servers and expediters are really good.
