La Cuchara updates its menu daily to offer the best quality produce and provisions available, and features a pintxo station, craft cocktails & a wood-fired grill.
Friday & Saturday 5:00PM-11:00PM
A most eclectic menu and variety of selections. We never have eaten food from cans - a surprise. The descriptions are not clear on presentations. But the meal was most enjoyable.
My husband and I really like this restaurant. We go early so we can talk. The atmosphere becomes quite "energetic" after 6:30p. The rooms hard surfaces make the sound ricochet and everyone winds up shouting at each other. However, this led us to the discovery of the weekday 1/2 price pintxos at the bar during happy hour :)
Always a memorable meal at La Cuchara! This past week, on August 9, we took my husband here for his 60th and once again we were not disappointed. The wonderful food and it’s presentation were exemplified by the friendly, informative, and attentive service of Jen our server❣️Loved the Rioja wine, pork belly sliders and the Roseda rib eye steak.
Excellent as always. Our waiter also was excellent. Great service. Great food, nice atmosphere.
Everything was awesome! The food, service, manager and atmosphere were perfect!
An excellent meal, on a quiet outdoor patio (indoors was way too noisy for us!) with attentive and friendly service.
La Cuchara is easily my favorite restaurant in Baltimore. The happy hour is a fantastic value and offers you a good sample of their menu and talent in the kitchen. I love that the food is seasonal, based in Basque cuisine, and accompanied by an interesting wine and cider list. The service is consistently warm, efficient, and welcoming.
We were late because of the rain but were seated right away. Waitress was excellent and explained everything on the menu. Everyone was very friendly.
We hadn’t heard anything about La Cuchara, but decided to try it for our anniversary. What a good decision that turned out to be. Probably the best dinner out we’ve had in the past couple of years. The food was amazing and the service was very good. This will be my new favorite for special occasions or out of town guests.
Our skirt steak was exceptional, and appetizers --tomatoes and jambon- were excellent. The ambiance is overly noisy, however, even in the room next to the bar. And tables and chairs are not particularly comfortable. We are used to noisy restaurants, but this one is particularly so. Service was very good, so for the food we would go again, but with some reservations.
My father is Basque and I thought this “American” Basque version was very good. The wine selection is complete and I look forward to the eventual incorporation of Pacharán into the menu. I’ll be returning...
Except for the very chewy skirt steak everything was delicious. The server was attentive and the food tasty. The decor is beautiful and I like the option of having small bites of well-prepared food. Definitely get the rosé flight, but skip the skirt steak entrée.
Visited for Baltimore Restaurant Week. Food and service was excellent!
Excellent!! Service was impeccable. Not your typical fare.
The quality of the food and it’s creativity and presentation are top notch. The design of the spaces and bar terrific and also very comfortable. The servers were extremely well trained and knowledgeable, explaining every dish and wine selection. Two managers stopped by to check on us. We are New Yorkers and world travelers - Hard to impress. We are impressed. It’s a 5 star restaurant in an interesting location with a sophisticated and hip crowd.
Lamb shank was over salted. Had this dish over 5 times before and first time it was uneatable.
La Cuchara never disappoints! The ethnic dishes are authentic, flavorful, interesting. The staff is the perfect blend of manage your food and leave you in peace. Seating is artfully arranged to ensure privacy while maintaining that upbeat atmosphere. They do skate masterfully - crunchy in a devine butter sauce. The Heirloom Tomato sofrito with crispy manchego is drool worthy. Love this place!
Restaurant week. Not the same menu as listed on the web but it was ok. Quiet as we were outside. Great service. Food was quite delicious. Would go back!!
It was refreshing to sit in a dining area and be able to carry on a conversation without shouting.
La Cuchara ALWAYS delivers -- eating there makes me feel like I am in another country having an amazing food experience. There isn't a bad seat in the house -- indoor seating is awesome, in any of the three large spaces or at the bar or on their large patio. I'm not a drinker, but I've tasted many of the signature cocktails and they have an extensive wine list, and do NOT miss dessert. This is one of my favorite spots in Baltimore!
The food was fresh, delicious, our server very knowledgeable and helpful. I was there with 3 friends and everything we ordered was excellent. I had a little trouble finding the restaurant but eventually found it, Google map was not sure of the location. After you enter the wooden bridge, it is in the back of the bulding.
We were rained out of an event Saturday evening and needed a relaxing, delicious venue for a much deserved, kid-free meal. We enjoyed ourselves so much on our first visit in May we decided it was the right place. We were treated so well and had exactly the right dishes. It's so nice here! We've decided to keep finding ways to come back. Love the Bacalao Croquette and Shrimp Beignets.
out-of-the-way, easy parking, hip environment, awesome menu, delicious, great service, what's not to like? will return for special occasion next month.
The ambience was hip, but not stuffy. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. The ingredients were fresh and expertly prepared. Almost everything we got was a good value for the level of quality. Will definitely go back.
Great server. Food good - although a bit on the salty side for my tastes. Next time I would definitely tell the kitchen to hold the salt. We ate outside which was nice and quiet. Ordered all small plates which fit our appetites for the nite.
The bread may be the best I have ever had at any restaurant. Had sautéed calamari as appetizer which was very good. I had the lamb shoulder which is one of the best lamb dishes I have ever had. I love lamb and cook it often but this outdid anything I have ever cooked or had at restaurant. We also had the tile fish which was excellent. Only issue was the parring with kale which was just ok. I had a Picon Punch which I have had often at Basque restaurants in Nevada. It was not quite the same with more soda but still very good.
Honestly one of the best meals and experiences I’ve had in a long time. Jennifer, our server, was so pleasant and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back and try more!!!
excellent food, service and ambiance; wait staff was very helpful
Very good food and great atmosphere.
Wonderful space, but the menu was somewhat limited and the food choices a bit too "creative" for our taste. For example, morel mushrooms shouldn't be fried in a salad, rather sautéed in butter.
I usually love this place for the food but the service has been absent once again. When you have to ask for water, and when my empty wine glass was overlooked, I was waiting to have a second glass and maybe dessert. When our server finally came by, I just asked for the check. Please don’t edit my review. They need to do better with their service.
Always a fantastic experience! Great wine and service and interesting food that never disappoints
Our first time to La Cuchara, and it was an excellent experience. Food was fantastic, service was excellent, atmosphere was tremendous.
We will be back.
The only thing is they need to put a bigger sign — I had trouble finding it
Started with pork belly and cod appetizers...very good...spanish olives were pleasant...not too salty...zuchinni blossoms were nice especially on a hot day as they are served cool...whole bronzino was very big...good taste...smoke and fire drink was good...wines were ok...services was fair...there seemed to be contsant confusion between waiter and others...ambiance was lacking a bit...place is large and felt empty...
Nice menu to choose from. Innovative food. The breads are great additions to the food ‘
The atmosphere alone is worth the visit.....a vibrant bar and wonderful environment.
Fun, always tasty. Great place for big or little meal.
Fantastic food and service. We have been here several times, and found it to be the perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary.
