Food was amazing. Service even better. Accommodated our large party of 9 with smiles and ease. Was awesome!
We had an excellent meal with great service. Menu is pricey but worth the splurge.
Food and service were great but it was noisy and older couple at bar making out made the main dining room a little bit too close for comfort.
As always, Le Fia was amazing. I had the short rib, which was delicious. I was on the fence because all the pasta was tempting as well. Great wine selection as well.
This restaurant never disappoints. The food is always creative and excellent. Service is professional, polite and willing to assist with selections. The dinner was made better by the fact we were in the back of the restaurant and therefore could hear each other easily as is not the case in the front dining room. I always enjoy myself at LaFia.
Waitress was very nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. She was prompt with the service and courteous
Started with the grilled octopus and beef tartare, both awesome. The squid was charred perfect and tender on the inside. Beef tartare flavors were all on point and well-balanced. Squid ink pasta with crab and shaved truffles was great, seafood gumbo was pretty good. Wine list was nice, beer list a little thin.
We were not told the specials but other tables were. They were judging us not telling us the specials due to our age!!!!
Squid Ink Pasta is a must!!!!!
We had a great Valentines Day dinner and it reminded us why La Fia is one of our favorite restaurants. The fix price menu was varied. We both had the hanger steak and thought it was one of the best dishes we have had. La Fia is a first rate restaurant.
This restaurant was a foodie's delight. Can't wait to return to try other items on the menu.
Our dinner was amazing. A bit turned off by the hostess/waitress's greeting but all went very well after that. Desserts are not to be missed.
I was pretty disappointed from dining at La Fia. We ordered the duck, short rib, bucatini pasta, cauliflower, and octopus and pretty much everything lacked complete flavor except for the bucatini. Would not recommend going back.
Always a great experience
Always reliable. The Curried Lentil Soup was great.
Four friends for lunch. Everyone thought it was delicious ( fries were a tad soggy). We will definitely return.
Staff is amazing (food too) :)
Yet again, such an enjoyable dining experience. Best salads in town. Fresh blackened salmon over a Greek salad. Tried the curried lentil soup and it was unbelievable! Margaritas are called “perfect” on the menu because they truly are. Great scene and service. No better option for a lunch in Wilmington. 👏🏼
Excellent food and service. Cocktails also very good.
Excellent dinner prior to a show at the Queen. Absolutely delicious, creative food. Waiter was very knowledgeable about which dishes to order, and generously gave us tastes of several wines before we decided which to order. Also, food came out promptly, which we appreciated as we had mentioned to the waiter that we had limited time to eat before our show across the street.
La fia is a small restaurant in downtown Wilmington DE. I found the food /service/decor to be excellent with a special nod to the high quality and complex food. I ordered:
Octopus: excellently prepared, tender, spiced
Duck: an interesting style with a thick bbq style ‘bark’. Immensely flavorful.
Tiramisu: well balanced, excellent cheese, strong espresso.
I highly recommend if in Wilmington.
This was my first time at this restaurant though I have been a Delaware resident for more than two decades.
Service was inattentive as it seemed like there was only one person serving probably 30 people but there actually were more people.
I ordered from the menu exactly as it is described without asking for anything special. They switched the type of sandwich roll without informing me; I am allergic to certain seeds and nuts. They were out of the bread listed on the menu and they just switched it. I asked the wait person and her answer was ‘we are out of that bread!’ Well that can happen. But what happened to asking me if they could substitute or not AND what were my options?
Well, they did have the options. I chose one. By the time the sandwich was brought back, it was soggy, and looked like it was just slapped together.
Is there really a point in going back to a popular restaurant that singles out someone for a bad treatment? I know I know... no one really did that... but that’s exactly how it felt.. and, there was no apology, and wait person attitude was like, “oh ok! I heard you!’
Creative dishes attractively presented, excellent wine list, attentive service, pleasant ambiance, moderate noise level.
The waitress’s recommendations were spot on - great wine and amazing squid ink pasta dish!
Food was good! Service was great! I would go back to try other things on the menu.
The ambience was great. The food was mediocre.
We have loved La Fia for years, but it had been quite some time since our last visit. Unfortunately, we were pretty disappointed this time. While the squid ink pasta was absolutely amazing, the goat cheese toast left an unpalatable cigarette smoke aftertaste and the monkfish with couscous was just bland. They also used to start you with a delightful assortment of bread, which we didn't get this time. Finally, the music was really loud for such a small space. I'm sad because this was honestly one of our favorite places for a special dinner, but I'm not sure that we'll be going back again :(
Went New Year's Eve for a prefixed menu. I am not a fan of a prefixed menu but theirs had a nice selection. Just the right portion size and taste perfect as always.
New Year's Eve menu was lovely--something for everyone, as long as they're open to something interesting. The food was fabulous, the service fantastic, and not rushed. Becoming a go-to for us when we stay in town.
New Years Eve fixed price menu, great selection, all expertly prepared, service was very attentive. The quality here is comparable to excellent restaurants in larger cities,
Amazing new years eve menu. Lots of choices and everything prepared perfectly
Awesome dinner New Year’s Eve! Lovely squid ink pasta with lump crab meat. Music a little loud but not so much you couldn’t have a conversation.
We had an outstanding dinner at La Fia in late December. We started with a small plate of scallops in a butternut squash and apple "soup", and the flavors blended very well. My husband used some of the delicious La Fia bread to get every last drop of the soup. We ordered the pork cheek ravioli and the squid ink tagliolini with lump crab meat, but when our entrees appeared to the chef to be taking too long (we were fine after the excellent small dish and bread), he had a wait staffer bring out a black bass crudo small plate that was terrific, spicy and flavorful. When our entrees did arrive (again, we were now even more sated after the two small plates), the server announced that the raviolis had just been freshly made. Both the ravioli and the tagliolini were packed with delightful pasta and generous amounts of pork cheek and lump crab, respectively. Though the desserts looked tempting, we were so full at this point that we demurred. Our server, Lauren, was attentive and kept our water glasses full. Our bay window seating was relatively quiet and warm for a cold winter night. All in all, one of the best and most reasonably priced meals we have had in quite a long time.
Our drinks were delish - food was good - service was great - wait time for food was a bit extreme based on our order and the cheese plate was skimpy. Might return for drinks again. Loved the vibe and our server was super kind!
We were visiting from out of town for a wedding and this was a recommendation for a local bartender. It did not disappoint! The food and cocktails were on point.
Thank you for a great date night.
Menu could use some new additions. Need to add a fish option
We had not been to Le Fia for a while. The revised menu was a pleasant surprise and our appetizer and entrees were outstanding. Excellent service by Ethan a real plus as well.
