Great food and ambiance. Location is perfect in one of the most prestigious areas of the city. Service was good. Prices are very fair and even lower than expected. Quality of food is superior to other brunch places with similar prices.

The food quality continues to go down. I ordered a croissant and tasted stale. It was cold. Not buttery at all, not flaky very average like from a Grosery store and I can get better ones at Loblaws. The price $7 for a poor quality croissant. My friend who is French Canadian ordered the chocolatin and the same. Change your bakery provider. My brunch was average too, Over easy makes better breakfasts. The mushroom was burned and nothing exciting. I love the location and the americano but the food is not the same as few years ago. We returned the bake goods and the Manager came to offer an apology, which we appreciated and offered us scones which were delicious. Just wish they were given as courtesy due to the poor croissants.

we found a baby cocroch in the water.. when we mentioned this to a server, she said "oh there is a bug....I will be right back with new water".
Later a guy comes back with a glass of water and said "here you go".
Where is customer service and where are manners??? no apologies what so ever?? I am NOT coming back to this place and will stop ppl going here.

I love this place... especially the patio-quiet, big, comfortable.
The food has greatly improved, I think, over the last year. But I always have the Salade Nicole’s, because it isexceptionsl!

Service was absolutely perfect! Kitchen needs to pay more attention ... pretty food vs. fine food is not the same. Who overcooks a chicken breast? Desserts were awesome. Great wine list! Zachary rocks it!

Food and Service were very good. Big problem with noise level. They had loud music blaring the entire time. As as result, overall ambience was very poor.

The food was good but they had no ac on and it is so hot in there. We went for my mother’s bday and it was not fun to be in a place where you are sweating and the staff don’t care. All they did was comp us 4 beers on a bill that was $600. Not very impressed with this restaurant.

Great place to grab lunch or dinner while in Toronto Yorkville area, close to most of the stores and hotels ... we shared a Foie gras dish with rhubarb that was excellent, also had the Steak and frites (very good), an asparagus salad and a creme brûlée for dessert that was good but not great.

We’ve always had such a lovely time and meal at this restaurant however, our latest experience was terrible. The food wasn’t the greatest and the service on the patio was horrible. For example, we weren’t served our drinks until after our appetizers just before our main course (we had to prompt a few times to get them).

Overall, I am very disappointed with our evening here.

Delivers on ambience and dependability, with a beautifully rendered take on classic higher-end French bistro style. Great place for a better than average meal with friends or colleagues.

No dishes here will knock your socks off, but that’s not the point with a French bistro anyway. It’s solid classics with good cocktails — no risk-taking required by either the kitchen or the customers.

Food and service are good, but the meal inevitably ends up being considerably more expensive than comparable local quality, even for Yorkville. Wines by the glass are particularly expensive ($20 for a run-of-the-mill Chardonnay at lunch!), but almost every choice is a over priced to some degree and it will add up to a pricy lunch compared to your other Yorkville choices of similar quality.

I wanted a place to host a business lunch meeting.

Sitting outside on the terrace at La Societe was perfect! I am happy to pay a premium for what I get in return. Excellent food, excellent service, at a convenient and interesting venue.

Even for budget-conscience financial managers like us, I don't think you can pay much less than $45 per person, all in, no drinks. Add a bottle of wine and you are looking at $65-70 per person.

Still, it's a great place with a fair price, in my opinion, for what is offered.

We were here to celebrate a birthday. The patio is really nice. However the food was a mixed bag. The mains were delicious (duck confit and the pappardelle) however the appetizer (escargot) left much to be desired. Enjoyed our time here but for the money I would dine elsewhere.

Had a wonderful lunch here... on the patio, first hot day of the year.
We shared a Nicoise and a steak... both were incredibly good, then went for dessert .. Mille feuille. To die for.....
Hope to be there lots over the summer!

There are a lot of choices for brunch in town and I was very excited to go to La Societe given I had heard some very good things. We started our brunch with a bloody mary and it was so disappointing...I make better. Our food was also average and the portions were itty bitty. We shared a dessert that 'profitleros' which were nothing at all like the dessert we both love! Would not go back.

Paul and the entire TEAM are SUPERSTARS at this classic and authentic French Bistro. Unbeatable location and dining space with a stunning patio for the summer time. Delicious food that is beautifully presented and well priced. If your visiting our AMAZING CITY, your dining experience at this establishment will compliment your trip superbly. This places SIZZLES in all aspects!!! This is a real review, I don't pad my comments to avoid hurting or upsetting people's feelings. Please keep going. Your salmon, and sausage both in-house were EPIC. The Lobster offering was flawlessly poached to render a succulent tail that was tasty. WELL DONE. TRES BIEN, et MAGNIFIQUES!!! Bravo. Outstanding bar section, formal dining and outdoor. Great for families, kids, or business. I am SOLD, are you? The management of this Resto are clearly and unequivocally ON POINT. The uniforms and staff shine.

Following a visit to the Gardiner Museum just around the corner, we recently tried La Societe for the first time for a special friend’s birthday. The bistro is impressive with it’s Belle Époque glass ceiling. Arriving early we headed to the bar for a drink. Wines by the glass were disappointing and all wines seriously over priced. We settled for a delicious Cava Rosado for $120, which we took to the table when we moved on to dinner. The main room is noisy even when not full. Food was also pricy for mostly bistro fare. That said the beet salad starter and main dish cod were both delicious. Bar and restaurant service was friendly and helpful. The evening was a success but Toronto has so many restaurants that offer fabulous food and wine for better value.

Now living outside Toronto, but returned recently for a visit and thoroughly enjoyed the same ambiance (maybe even better) from over 50 years ago when it was "Cafe de la paix" .
We ordered from the fixed price lunch menu, reasonably priced with many choices, and our meals were delicious!
Service was exemplary.
Being lunch, this restaurant was abuzz with activity, so noise level reflected that but I'm sure an evening meal would be the romantic and quiet ambiance that I remember from so long ago. Although the same company at the table, it would not be quite the same experience as the piano and player are no longer there.
Looking forward to making La Societe a regular haunt...like when we were young.

Definitely on the list for patios. Great place for catching lunch with friends. Pretty casual for a restaurant in Yorkville, but is definitely a neighbourhood favourite. Server was amazing and they really make use of details from using OpenTable (I.e. dietary requests etc). Stop by to pick on a charcuterie board for an afternoon snack
