Disappointed that after many visits here, they always seem to be out several menu items. And we're usually informed well after we've placed our orders! Additionally we dine early in the evening. Super disappointed this keeps happening!

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to find this good of a restaurant in our little town of Pinckney. We are gluten free and the menu was made for us, even had a gluten fee dessert. Price was reasonable and the food was excellent. We will be back.

We tried this establishment based on a recommendation. But the Mussels were served with at least five (5), on the bottom, unopened (no where safe to be consumed). The veal in the veal parmesan was very stringy and tough, making it difficult to both cut and chew. However the service was very good and we may try again, but not the same items.

This is one of our favorite spots! Their French onion soup is amazing and their menu never disappoints! We went for my Birthday and everyone enjoyed their dishes and appetizers. {The bruschetta and sausage platter are our favorites!}

Food was good overall however, one dinner was burnt on the bottom, the veal Parmesan was not acceptable, but we did not send it back, but should have. Our server was very gracious, Ashley....

This is the first bad meal we had there...

I enjoyed our dinner here - the only reason why I gave 3 stars is that a lot of our food was cool, not freezing cold but not hot at all - still delicious, but it seemed like it sat before it came out to us or that some of the sauces were refrigerated and not heated thoroughly. I had the crispy skin duck and the skin was actually all rubber but the gnocchi it came with was excellent - the asparagus and mushrooms were pretty dry too. Again, the flavors were there, but everything was lacking texture and temperature. Really Nice waitress and atmosphere and the sangria was delicious. The outdoor seating looked adorable. It's slightly disappointing to pay over $50 for just myself for dinner and drinks and it all feel short because it was cold. I would definitely try it again and hopefully the food will be hot - I'm guessing it was just a fluke because it does seem like a nice place.

Excellent Italian Food with solid wine list. House Chianti is very nice. The lasagna and chicken marsala are delish. The large antipasto appetizer platter ($19) easily serves 8 with proscuitto, sopresso, smoked and aged cheeses, roast garlic head, crackers, toasted bread, yummy pimento cheese spread.

Food was very good but the bread took forever to get out and get to our table and the rest of the service was pretty slow. My husband ordered bolognese for his spaghetti and he got marinara even though there was an up charge for the bolognese on the bill which did get corrected. We need boxes for left overs and they brought the desserts before the table had been cleared so they grabbed the left overs and left the desserts on the table next to ours while they did the leftovers. We just grabbed the desserts ourselves off the other table as we were starting to get late for our theatre date that evening. The cannolis were crispy and the almond cake was excellent for desserts.

Went here on a date with my husband. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. We sat in the newer more casual section which is nice and quiet. There are no tables in the middle of that dining room so it feels more intimate wherever you sit. The food was outstanding. I had the chicken marsala served over angel hair pasta which was so flavorful. My husband had the surf and turf. Always a nice selection of wines to choose from and the desserts were delicious (tiramisu and lemon cake). Coming back here again for sure!

First time visiting this restaurant. The food was very good, portions were good but not overwhelming like some places. Everything seemed like it was freshly made which was nice. My only complaint was were we got seated, in a very high backed booth by the door! It was a birthday celebration, but because of where we were seated, I did not get to see or experience the ambience of the restaurant, in fact it was far too secluded and I did not get to see another diner in the restaurant!

The steak tips appetizer was awesome.
Save $3 upgrading to a premium salad. Mine ended up being smaller than my wife's free salad. Plus they forget to put on the dressing. Disappointing. Life lesson. We will go back though.

I had not been to LaVita Bistro in a few years. I was pleasantly surprised. We had the calamari for an appetizer-I will rate it an 8. The chicken Picatta was very good..will rate a 9. My hubby had veal parm- he liked it. I tried a bite and didn't care for the breading. The bread they bring to the table is awesome and I will give that a 10. Oh, he had the minestrone soup which I tried and that was a solid 10...best we have ever had, it did have alittle kick! We also had a bottle of wine...Seaglass Pinot...very good. I was surprised when the bill came and it was only $71 ...Dinners/app and wine. Great deal! Our server was very nice and pleasant.

Overall, I would highly recommend LaVita Bistro. We will be back!

The experience was tragic! Server very clumsy and had no idea what was on the menu. Food was awful...everyone at our table had something different and not one of us ate more than a couple bites. Never again...would not even give it a 1/2 star.

Booked for New Year's Eve. Didn't book until the morning of New Year's Eve day. Checked resturant website that morning and looked at the posted menu. No notations about anything different for New Years. On arrival at the restaurant while waiting to be seated, we noticed folks that had just been seated ahead of us, returning to the lobby and leaving! It seems that the management had decided to present a fixed menu-fixed price for the evening. Again, no note on their website even as late as noon that day. The hostess said that the manager had called people with reservations to advise...since we made our reservation that day we didn't get a call. We decided to stay as it was pretty late to go elsewhere. The food was fair at best. The grey goose cosmo tasted like the margarita that my husband ordered. The only light of the entire experience was our server, Michael. We will not be in any hurry to go back.

We are regulars at La Vita Bistro. Our latest visit was for the Thanksgiving buffet. It was so nice to have an upscale local restaurant to celebrate the holidays since we were leaving for vacation the next day. The food and service were wonderful with a nice variety and even included a small selection of desserts. We had a reservation and were seated on time. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends.

It was a girls day brunch and we were not disappointed! We all took advantage of the bottomless mimosa's/bloody Mary's. Half of us had made-to-order omelets. Great sides for selection and the dessert table was divine! Will definitely be back for the next brunch!

Something was very different about this. Is it to La Vita Bistro. It started with the wait staff. Apparently new and inexperienced. Not sure, but it seems like they have changed chefs/ and it recipes. Had the Roasted Garlic appetizer. Garlic bulb was small, goat cheese was used instead of smoked cream cheese. Instead of roast pepper compote it was whole roasted peppers.

The entrees changed as well, the Penne pasta with sausage marinara sauce seemed to be quite a different recipe. The spicy marinara wasn't spicy. The green peppers in the dish were raw and crunchy. The melted cheese on it was not three cheese. No mushrooms.

The duck and gnocchi was different as well, while the duck itself was quite good, the gnocchi' tasted more like mashed potatoes made into a ball. No taste of truffle or asiago. Again no mushrooms.

The tiramisu seemed to be all cream and no cake.

Overall very disappointing give the number of times we had good meals there before. Should have gone to Ciao Amici's.

Oh, I guess it's never a good sign when you see a sign outside the restaurant basically hiring everyone from chefs to dishwashers...

Great restaurant off town square in downtown Pinckney!! When weather permits, dining outside available with portable heating and outdoor fire pit for cooler evenings. Great menu, duck, La Vita salad and pumpkin cheesecake was fantastic. Get the bread basket! Pleasant drive from US-23.
