L’Abattoir’s Private Dining Room is a carefully orchestrated yet seemingly effortless affair. The private dining facilities are separate from the main restaurant dining room but the décor is an extension of our celebrated brick and beam style, with sleek, industrial glass and steel accents.View Private Dining Details
First time trying L'abattoir. It was amazing! We opted for a few add ons with the Dine out menu. It did not disappoint. The service was good and the food was beautiful and tasty. Will definitely have to come back after Dine Out.
Great as always.
Really wonderful food and service.
Went to L'Abattoir for my auntie's birthday and I can't say that I was very impressed. I made the mistake of not reading the fine print of our reservation, when we got there we found out that they were not offering their regular menu due to dine out. My aunt had been wanting to try L'Abattoir for quite awhile so we decided we would still try out the place. The one thing that was great is the service. Other than that, the drink service took quite awhile, over 10 minutes for my cocktail. I almost forgot I ordered it. The appetizers were ok but my one gripe is that they were bigger than the entrees! The entrees were also HEAVILY salted, it was almost unpalatable. We both had the Wild Turbot and my sibling had gotten the smoked quail. They were quite untasty. I would never imagine that something so salty could be served, there must be higher quality checks. Dessert was fine but forgettable. In conclusion, if their Dine Out Menu is any indication of their regular menu, I will definitely not be returning.
We really enjoyed our dine out menu. Will go back again for their regular menu.
Amazing experience. Service was on point and the presentation of the food was outstanding. Well done!
This place never disappoints, exceptional food and service!
If you want food that's unique, definitely pay L'Abattoir a visit. This is my 2nd or 3rd visit at L'Abattoir, this time for Dine Out Vancouver. Our Appetizers and Dessert were both top notch. The Mains were a tad on the salty side.
The only thing is, I'm not sure if this is their usual practice of if this was a charge because it's Dine Out. But if you wanted bread service, it's $3/person. We also was charge $7 for a table of 3 for STILL water.
Other than that, I'd still recommend the restaurant.
It was dine out, so it was packed. The pace in which the food came out was perfect. The portion sizes were extremely small, which is expected from L'Abattoir. The cannelloni was equivalent in size to three of my boyfriends fingers. I ordered the Quail Sausage, what they were missing was proper punctuation...It was sausage stuffed in a quail, was a sight. Overall isn't worth the hype, my partner left hungry. We wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend either.
I normally love this restaurant.
But only this time for dine out Vancouver 2020, I hesitate to recommend to my friends.
My mom had meat and I had fish for the main and both were too salty. Little disappointment for me, since I usually love their food.
Desserts were amazing like always. ;)
It’s nice to celebrate our anniversary here. Overall experience is very good. I’m a food picker. So I’m a bit disappointed at the special menu, the sea bass. It’s a bit over cook and a bit unflavoured. The skin is not crispy as described. My boyfriend ordered the smoked Quail with foie gras, it’s extremely good! I’ll rate it 11/10. You could feel the foie gras melting in your mouth. Overall, L’Abattoir is still one of my favourite restaurants!
It’s my second time here, perfect like always!
The fillet on the Dine Out menu was superb. Also the service was excellent. Staff was unobtrusive and always proving us with what we needed before we realized.
Food was fine, presentation exceeded flavour, but all in all a good dish. The restaurant was very cute inside although tables are quite small. Cocktails were quite delicious but weren’t able to order more than one each due to timing of service.
I heard great things about L'Abattoir so my friend and I decided to come here for our first dineout of 2020. The service was amazing but unfortunately the food was not up to par. The quail was too salty and they forgot to give us the foie gras that we ordered (they did apologize with reducing our bill wich is a nice gesture). The chocolate ganache dessert didn't really make sense and felt very clunky and alcoholic. On a brighter note, the turbot was exceptional and the lime yogurt mousse was amazing. For appetizers we ordered beef tartare and tuna crudo. They were okay but left something to be desired.
Dishes were well thought out and intricate enough to stand out in Vancouver. Service was pleasant and they accommodated the busy 'Dine Out' rush well. The space was efficient but similar to much what you see elsewhere.
Food was delicious, service was amazing, was just a little loud.
We went for the Dine Out Vancouver dinner. The meals were excellent as were the drinks. The Dine Out menu was very reasonably priced. Absolutely wonderful service! We were seated in the atrium which was really nice and a bit quieter than other areas. I will definitely be revisiting and am hoping to in the summer when the atrium is open. Overall excellent experience!
My wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary every year here. The staff is excellent, the drinks are delicious, and the food is perfect. My only complaint is this restaurant is not in my home town. We also had our wedding in a private room in the back. For the price of many other venues our guests were served amazing food and drinks in a really cool environment. The pictures in “blood alley” were a bonus. Thank you L’Abattoir. The Pattinson’s
L’abattoir is a place that comes to mind when I’m planning date night or a special night out. From the lighting, the service and the plating, they do it all! When we sat down, moments after our server brought glasses of champagne to congratulate us for our anniversary. That set the tone for the entire night and made it much more special. The food was great, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the duck. The meat was cut up a little too thick, and some parts were more chewy than tender. The Steak Diane, however, was so perfectly made! The truffle sauce combined with the lightly salted/peppered steak tasted amazing. My boyfriend loved the Hamachi Crudo, especially the tanginess. I’ll definitely be back to try other menu items!
Food was really good and presented well. Service was excellent. A vegan option or two would make it easier to recommend to more of my friends.
The food and service were excellent... an’t wait to return!
I was solo and it was a lovely meal, and not rushed at all.
Great friendly service..food was creative and expertly prepared, presented and devoured!!
Overall, I had a good experience at L’abattoir as the food was quite good and the ambiance was nice and relaxing. The service was good and the food came out really fast. The only complaint is that I mentioned a note of there being a birthday and there was no acknowledgment of that, as well, we kind of had a bad table where it felt a bit squished pressed against the wall and between serving tables. I was hoping to get a nicer table as I made the reservation in advance and mentioned that it would be a birthday celebration. Also, I wanted to order a latte but they said they don’t have a milk steamer which I found weird as most brunch places do.
The brunch pastries were delicious and the quiche I got was decent. The service was friendly, but the server was a bit pushy, trying to get us to order more.
Been there for brunch and dinner. Brunch was great, dinner was exceptional. Up there with Hawksworth imo.
Food was excellent! Really enjoyed the tartare, baked oysters, and the steak Diane. Would skip the duck though.
Service was excellent!
Our server Darren was exceptional. The cocktails were so good. The food was excellent. A perfect evening of dining
Excellent and meticulously presented food. The name of the restaurant was bit misleading to me as it means “Slaughterhouse” in French. Therefore, I was expecting a larger selection of meats. The restaurant is charmingly located in an old brick house. The decibel level is bit too high in the main room to converse without raising the voice, but they have a back room too. Overall a nice fine dining experience in Gastown.
I brought my friend here who has been to many very high end restaurants around the world and we had a fantastic experience. It was short as we had tickets to the Vancouver Canucks hockey game but I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food and service was outstanding and the price I believe was fair for that reason. Will recommend to friends and be back again soon.
Food was delicious. My first visit and I would definitely recommend and revisit in the future. Well done.
Amazing meal, amazing service. Such a wonderful experience and our night was made very special by the staff ♡
Som was awesome. Very knowledgeable Great food! excellent service
Absolutely fabulous! The food was superb as was the service.
Unfortunately a holiday party next to us which dominated the space. But that is how it goes at that time of the year.
Service was amazing from start to finish
You should be proud of your entire team
We come back time & time again
Never fails to
Celebrated our 25th anniversary and the staff were awesome in making our dinner very special
Delicious food; excellent service
