3 star restaurant with 4 star pricing. Good for casual lunch/drinks. I don’t recommend for a nice dinner. More casual
Always an exceptional experience. I can't wait to go back.
At the edge French culinary savoir faire with West Coast fusion. A perfect dining experience hard to parallel anywhere.
We had a fantastic brunch at L'Abattoir. Our server was excellent and the food was delicious and well presented. I would request the back section in the future on a nice day as it's very cozy compared to upstairs which is a bit cavernous. The hostess didn't seem to want to be there. She probably shouldn't have been the person greeting but giving her the benefit of the doubt - Maybe she's been out a bit too late on Friday night. ;-)
It was a wonderful experience. The server was very attentive and patient.
On multiple occasions, we have found that the food is not served hot.
This was my first time dining here and it was an amazing experience! I really liked that the ambiance wasn't overly fancy and yet the food was elevated.
I had a wonderful dining experience from the food to the service to the ambiance ....and I have not had an all around amazing experience like this in a long time!
The tuna tartare was delicious, their scallops with broccoli risotto is a must order, and the duck was one of the best I have ever had.
It is definitely a splurge to dine here but the overall experience was top notch. I would come back for special occasions.
Brilliant and Amazing as usual! We had our wedding at L’Abattoir and plan to have more special moments there!
The food, drinks, service and ambiance is definitely one of the best dining experiences in Vancouver
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Nice ambience, great plates, and the staff were helpful and polished in proper serving etiquette. The wine list is quite extensive, with multiple price points depending on your tastes... We ended up asking our server to pair glasses with our dishes, and she did an excellent job (it ended up being cheaper than the average bottle, and paired/progressed well with our food). I'd definitely go back for special occasions with my wife, or a small party (4-6).
Noise level was a bit high but that was due to another groups celebrations. The service was great. Very knowledgeable of their menu and of their wines. Duck was a bit under and the chocolate dessert had an issue with the berries but the oysters, scallops, sweetbreads and cod dishes were outstanding.
Food was delicious and service impeccable, as always. What I don't understand is why, on a slow night (the room was less than half full), diners are seated smack next to each other at tables so close together you cannot have a proper private conversation. So bizarre.
La carte est courte mais variée. Service impeccable.
My friends and tried this somewhat eclectic restaurant for dinner...we tried the horse tartare (excellent though I would have preferred toast points instead of potato chips) and bone marrow (divine) though I would pass on the sherry shots the next time; I had the saddle of rabbit (simply delicious); a friend had the game lasagna (this was strange...more like a crispy rolled taco)... so so....very loud music and quite dark...our waiter was often absent for long stretches so I would rate service so so... still, I would recommend this venue, mainly for drinks and appetizers at happy hour...then it becomes "a deal".
Not sure what all the hype is about this place. Food was tasteless, only flavor dominant was butter in both the salmon and halibut dishes. No side dishes from which to choose to accompany your meal. Extremely dissatisfying and disappointed in my experience.
Excellent restaurant in a great neighborhood in Vancouver!
The food was overpriced and not great. If there's one thing restaurants should never do, and that's to serve food that is warm. It's disappointing that this restaurant's standard has dropped significantly. This was my 3rd visit and will be my last as I will not be coming back to a sub-par location when there are better and more competitive-priced restaurants serving similar cuisine in the city.
There were flies or insects flying around the dining area as we dine and that was a complete turn-off as well.
great space and delicious food
You can’t go wrong eating here.
Excelent food, service and ambiance! I’m not a big fan of desserts but the apricot with the wine pairing was awesome. A bit pricey but worth the visit.
Really tasty options.
Fantastic experience — from the baked oysters to the duck to the steak!
This was an exceptional dinner. The food and service were great.
Great food and cool vibe. Service was top notch and they accommodated my vegan meal preferences with enthusiasm! Will certainly be back!
I could not imagine a better dining experience: low key ambiance coupled with fantastic food, with every single preparation just top notch. They don’t go out of their way on the menu to make the stuff sound spectacular, but they just make very simple things really taste great. The baked oysters were especially terrific.
Fantastic all round. Great cocktails. Great service. Excellent wine recommendations. Food was top notch.
It was delicious! . They were very accommodating when we had an extra party join us last minute! A bit hot upstairs though
Late (1:30) “brunch”, partner loves the eggs benny, sabayon was light and fresh, house made muffin and nice Canadian bacon. My ricotta pancakes (side sausage) were odd, one pancake burnt, the quince butter had a bitter aftertaste (or was that the burnt pancake?), and overall too sweet, glad I had the salty and nice homemade sausage to offset. No Caesars so had their “Blood Alley” (Mary), would have preferred a Caesar. A little more $ than your average brunch but overall OK, will return for dinner next time.
Not pleased with my experience at all. The place was crowded and hot. The food portions were small and not tasty at all. Service was just so-so. Very disappointed.
Excellent food, chic ambience and attentive service!
We go to L'Abattoir pretty much every time we go to Vancouver. The food is always excellent and inventive. The cocktails are fun and well made. We will return the next time we go to Vancouver.
Had a wonderful dinner with a group of friends. The food was fresh and delightfully prepared and presented.
The service wasn't as good as I thought it would be considering the pricing. Our server wasn't very friendly and welcoming - seemed bored. The toast for my sweetbreads was burnt but replaced fairly quickly. All the other food was very good. The sommelier did a very good job and provided very good customer service. The special occasion was not acknowledged which I thought was odd. Why was that question asked when the reservation was made?
Very disappointed that the food was not served hot and was over priced. We were there as a result of a strong recommendation from a family member to celebrate our anniversary. I can truly say that this was the worst experience we have had on our special day.
The oysters are amazing, but the seating was way too cramped. People next to us knocked over our bread bowl as they were trying to get to their seats.
Disappointed as we heard and read great things about this restaurant so our expectations were high. Service was outstanding. Limited menu and choices unexciting. Baked oysters the highlight. Duck, salad, and halibut ok. Duck would have been better if I didn’t find a hair in my egg roll. Really impacted my whole dinner.
Always a fantastic meal. You can’t go wrong here.
Brunch is amazing
Fantastic meal combined with a fantistic atmosphere. A true must-go restaurant
Excellent Service. Broccoli risotto was a highlight
