   The chef menu is very tasty and refreshing. They are very kind to accommodate us and switched one of the dish from lamb to steaks. The portions size is very generous and we barely able to finish the whole course. Highly recommended.

    They have to keep the standards up. Today was a 6. The radish with the halibut are no good match and with the gnocchi the mushrooms were out of proportions. Deserts 7. For the price they ask they have to improve.

    Overall, a good experience. We found the staff to be inconsistent and overall not up to the caliber we expected. The manager was excellent and attentive, and he selected a wine for us that exactly matched our description. The entrees were mixed, one superb, one very bland and not well-presented. Some upper level supervision and tightening of the ambiance and service provided down the line could turn this into an excellent restaurant.

    The restaurant was charming and nicely decorated, but seating in the lower level was limited to one line of tables along a bench seat that ran the length of the room. We spent our entire meal listening to the neighboring table discuss politics and education. Blah. Online reviews said it was romantic, but we found that lacking. It was very brightly lit for a dinner meal. Staff and waiters were amazing and professional, the presentation of the food was elegant and visually appealing, but not worth the hefty price tag. The Steak Diane was tasty, but it was the most costly ala carte meal on the menu, so limiting the plate to one paltry potato wedge and 3 broccoli crowns seemed a bit stingy.

    My partner and I traveled to Vancouver and celebrated my birthday at L'abattoir. We had a wonderful dining experience there. The staff was so on top of it, from introducing the dishes to accommodating our request. I appreciate the attention to detail. The food is just exquisite and delightful, I'd so visit again if I was in town again.

    I don't know what I should have expected but it was raw. The animals were noisy, and a bit overpriced. The wine was ok although wasn't as good as supermarket own brand.

    We did the chef's menu. What and experience. The food was amazing. Great quality and variety. The service was top notch. It's quite expensive, but was with it for an anniversary dinner.

    Would not recommend. The food had no flavor. The music was too loud so you could not hear people at your own table. The server was pompous and had no idea what he was saying. Over hyped. Would never recommend to a friend.

    Had a fantastic dinner at L'Abattoir last night for my wife's birthday. Had the Chef's Menu with the BC wine pairings. Really flavourful dishes, beautifully plated and presented, and excellent wine pairings from several of BC's top-tier quality wineries. Cocktails also terrific. Excellent service too - waiter and sommelier both took great care of us, and the kitchen staff presented and introduced each dish very well. Definitely recommend, especially for a special occasion dinner!

    We had the chef tasting menu. Every dish was perfectly executed to promote a sense of enjoyment with every bite. The oyster was the best I have ever tasted. It melt in your mouth. The lamb was cooked to perfection and surrounded by a delicious, silk sauce. The portions were very generous and we left pretty full. The wine pairing was spot on. Not only did they do an exceptional job of pairing with each dish, but they gave extensive history of the winery and fermentation techniques which made me feel like I was learning more about wine production. The service and cadence was on par with any fine food restaurant.
