It was my first time at The Lake House. I have no complaints at all. Our server Kayla was outstanding. She had great recommendations and just a very warm personality. The food was top notch, and the view is breathtaking. I'll definitely be back.
Dine here every chance I get lunch or dinner
Outdoor seating ideal. A little noisy inside. We had a wonderful time and a delicious meal. My husband could have used a slightly larger portion. Fine dining prices
Food was incredible but pricey. It's not Gordon Ramsey's restaurant!
Loved the food, but we booked online and requested 4:15pm but had no openings except for 3 or 3:15pm so couldn't order off the dinner menu had to order from the lunch menu...…..we left approx. 5pm and there were still tons of empty tables so was disappointed that we couldn't reserve a later table.....food and service was excellent but wanted the Saturday prime rib fixed menu......
Location is wonderful- lakeside. Decor nicely done - modern elegant. Food is good, prices a little more than the area demands.
Good for lunch to enjoy the view.
Delicious food. Awesome service. Great location. Will be my go-to restaurant each time I visit Niagara.
Food was ok. My wife had the pizza and enjoyed that. We also had the brie skillet and enjoyed that. Or cocktails were also good. My fish tacos were overly breaded and overly fried...little to no taste. Service was amazing! We had a great waitress and she was very good!
Food and service were on point. The food was delivered to the table hot. The ingredients used was fresh giving the food a flavourful detailed profile.
I love love love the food at the Lakehouse. I've had several of their appetizers, main meals and lunches and have never been disappointed. My only criticism would be the level of noice in the restaurant. There really needs to be an improvement in the acoustics in order to hear the conversation going on at your own table. If it's a nice night I would suggest trying to sit on the patio, perhaps then you could carry a conversation better.
Have been here several times. However we had pizza and it took over an hour to get our food. Kitchen missed it we were told but it looked like several tables were waiting long and server did not check for the issue. They took some money off our meal but could have done more. You also should be able to reserve the patio.
We have been here a few times during the summer. This year we were VERY pleasantly surprised to see the lovely brighter decor. I personally loved how you reused and recycled with a lot of paint and recovering banquettes. It is always a shame to see such waste in decorating.
Our Server was excellent, she didn't rush us at all and always seemed to be there if we needed her.
Our meals were all excellent, beef on chibatta, hamburger, and fish taco's. The sweet potato fries looked and apparently were delicious (one person ordered them), the rest ordered regular fries. None of us was happy with them. They had no taste. We honestly felt that they were not good enough for your restaurant. One of the group wanted fish and chips and was incredibly disappointed that it was not on your menu. We feel it is a much desired and anticipated item on a lake front restaurant.
We will be back, of course, the ambiance, servers and food is to good to be missed!
Lovely we will be back!!
Been there many times. Excellent food, service was great.
Only disappointment was that I reserved through Open Table, yet they still couldn't give me a spot on the patio (which is the main reason I wanted this restaurant in particular). They said it would be an hour's wait.
It certainly makes you change your mind about going to this restaurant, especially in the summer time. I can understand that if you don't have a reservation, you should get whatever's available. But if I have a planned get-together with friends, and I make a reservation, I should be able to get an open air spot if that is what I want. They can even charge a reservation fee if they want - this way people won't just reserve and not show up.
Will not be considering this place again until summer is over
This was my third visit to this restaurant and my last. Each time including the last I had gift cards and each time I was disappointed. Venue is very nice, right on the lake and if weather is good you can sit outside by lake. Service is wonderful, very friendly and sincere staff. However, the food is nothing great, subpar at best. Small portions and the cost ridiculous. We’re not fussy but when I’m paying good money we expect delicious food. My husbands pasta was precooked!! WTH is this East Side Mario’s?? If you don’t care about cost or quality food and would like a nice atmosphere then this is your place. We’re from Niagara and there are many great places to eat so skip the Lakehouse and check out Strata West or Coppola’s. Next gift card I receive will be regifted.
We had excellent service very attentive but not overbearing
Never disappoints!! The food is always delicious. Courtney was very attentive and personable. The view is beautiful especially in the summer months!
Service and food were great.
Made a reservation well in advance and mentioned it was a special occasion and I would prefer a seat outside or with a view of the lake if possible.
When we arrived we were given the option of waiting one hour for a seat on the patio at the bar or sitting inside at the table they already had on hold for us since we were driving and didn't want to drink we said we would take the inside table,we were then shown to the worst seat in the whole restaurant, a Pokey Little thing in the corner right by the kitchen doors. My husband is a chef and knows how busy and noisy kitchens are during the dinner rush so he requested that we be moved to another seat. They then sat us at a four seater which I was fine with because I appreciate the extra room but there were families waiting to be seated, an empty two-seater beside us and another one over by the window with a view of the lake... this didn't make much sense and we were in a very high traffic area of the restaurant with people constantly walking by the table it gets extremely busy there. I then saw a couple who came in at the same time as us being seated out on the patio 20 minutes after we were seated, not 1 hour.. which is good for them but had I have known that we would have tried for the patio. Overall still a positive experience and I would like to go again but I didn't appreciate the seating arrangement given I had made the reservation well in advance.
Lake house never disappoints, definitely our favourite spot. Emily was our server and she was fantastic.
Food was excellent. Veal parm portion was huge and delicious. Mahi Mahi was tender and tasty.
We've dined at the Lakehouse on many occasions. We always book in advance through Open Table. Tonight's reservation was special, and we booked 3 weeks in advance. We requested a window seat, as our son was joining us from British Columbia and we requested a window seat so he could enjoy the view. When we got there, we were told that they receive more requests than there are window seats, so we had to wait, like everyone else. We were not pleased. A reservation 3 weeks in advance should have warranted a guaranteed window seat. I guess "first come, first served" means nothing at this restaurant. We were not impressed with the reception that we received when arriving.
Service at the table was excellent and so was the food. Too bad first impressions at the door can ruin the ambiance of the evening.
Great food great view of the lake. Great night beautiful atmosphere service is wonderful
Food was as excellent; very noisy and loud kids. Wait staff were excellent. Maybe try dinner vs lunch if you don’t want to deal with kids whose parents don’t keep them under control.
Hosted a birthday dinner here! Food, service and space were excellent. We booked a last minute table, my only complaint is we did not get a table with a view.
Literally had the best meal I’ve had in a long time. The new renovation is gorgeous. Clean, comfortable, perfect ambiance with open layout, natural lighting. Server was friendly and patient, and treated us for our anniversary. Have the browned butter crusted cod with lobster cream sauce - outstanding!! Can’t wait til next time!
Food + service with Chris was fantastic! So enjoyable to have really great quality food at a restaurant again!
This place never disappoints! Almost everytime I go to Toronto I must stop and have a great meal on the Lake!
Loved the new renovations. Place is now very bright and cheery. Server was excellent. The food was very good. We had a great view overlooking the water.
Great service, great view, great food. Fish tacos were amazing, sweet potato fries were also amazing. It was a nice lunch before we visited some wineries.
Amazing waitress great personality food was amazing
Should put some kind of bug Killer up to kill the small flys well you eat
the menu is very lack lustre and not as presented online which was disappointing. The waitress was pleasant and tried hard to do a good job however the choice of original table location was crowded and noisy and not a good choice for an older couple celebrating their 60th Anniversary (we had made reservations a couple of days in advance and requested a quiet window location). I would not be able to recommend your establishment to anyone and doubt that we will visit again.
Everything we tried, we liked. Delicious entrees and desserts.
Will definitely return to try some other items on the menu!
We had made a reservation through Open Table for lunch on July 4, 2018. We were seated immediately at a very nice table with lake view. Service was excellent and ambiance pleasant. However, I had ordered fish tacos which took quite a while to arrive. Unfortunately the fish had not been cooked all the way through, leaving the middle piece tough, rubbery, grey and completely inedible. When a server cleared the plates I made a point of telling her about the uncooked fish which I'd left on the side of the plate and then repeated it again to our server when she came with the dessert selection. Neither server expressed any concern which is unfortunate as raw fish (other than sashimi) can lead to stomach problems. We would probably go back just for the view, but I do not recommend the fish tacos!
It was our anniversary dinner and a gorgeous evening outside. My glass went a little wonky and somehow the bottom fell off but the staff and restaurant dealt with it amazingly. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and nice evening dinner ♥️. Perfect view and ambience.
We went to Lake House Restaurant to celebrate my Retirement with a quiet date night dinner. The fresh Perch was awesome.
The server came by often to check in on coffee and water. The Manager also stopped to ask us how everything was. It was a beautiful clear day so we could see across the water to the CN Tower. Great view from the Patio or most tables near a window.
They have recently freshened up the interior. It’s brighter but less romantic than it seemed from our previous visits. Might have been a bit too dark for older eyes to navigate?
Still great food and service. Would recommend it to anyone.
We enjoyed our experience at the Lakehouse, and were looking forward to the paella which was good, but not as good as expected, especially given that this is a signature dish. Missing was the wonderful chorizo sausage that adds depth of flavor and was replaced by a flavorless chicken sausage. Mushrooms were also added which I’d never seen in any paella recipe and since I dislike them I had to pick them out before I could eat it. Mushrooms are also not listed in the ingredients on the menu so to find them in the paella was disappointing. The rest of the seafood in the dish was delectable. Were it not for the omission of the chorizo and surprise ingredient of mushrooms this would have been an outstanding dish. The service was very good and the waitress was attentive. The view made up for it all.
Great meal, server was nice enough but felt somewhat rushed to finish and pay.
Wonderful food, great service, beautiful view.
Our server Katelyn was fantastic!!!
