The lake view is the best thing about this place. Very overrated.
It was great!
Great atmosphere. Food was amazing and the location was beautiful
After 15 years of amazing service and great food we had a disappointing experience on Friday night. The apps started off amazing as usual and the mains took about 40 minutes to arrive. You could tell they were sitting under the heat lamps for some time. The waitress didn’t have the time to check in on us and by the time the Manager did we had pushed our food aside and were ready to go. The manager argued with us howeve, did take 25%off our bill. We felt we shouldn’t have had to pay for our main meals as they were hardly touched. Additionally, prices are increased and the regular menu is not offered on long weekends. For locals like us, it seems like a scam. Same dish for a lot more money. We will try Lakehouse again as it is our favourite restaurant, but never again on a long weekend. We actually celebrated our vow renewal ther in 2015. So we are disappointed to say the least.
We were very pleased with Chris who served our table. We very much enjoyed the clam chowder.
it was my husbands birthday and they surprised him with a cherry cheesecake with a burning candle. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable dinner.
Thank you again, Fred and Linda Gale.
Went for Valentines Day. Menus was fixed menu at $64.95 per person for three courses which did not know at time of booking and went on website to look at menus and did not see anything about the fixed menu for that day. Ordered crab cakes but had to be sent back because I have a cilantro allergy did not know they contained cilantro. No problem they replace with Caesar salad which was ok but not spectacular. Entree was okay had rib entree. Meat was so tender but way too much sauce so did not finish. Dessert was very disappointing, all the same could tell was prepared ahead and refrigerated which I understand but was looking forward to dessert because only eat on special occasions and was very underwhelmed, we only had a couple small bites.
Ambience was wonderful and staff were great, but food was less than what have experienced when dining there previously.
A world class dining experience in the heart of Niagara’s wine country. The lake house offers excellence in food and service year round.
Booked online going straight to reservations. Was not aware of the fixed menu for Valentines Day. We specifically selected the Lake House for specific items we really enjoy on previous visits. Bringing back memories of travels, etc. None were on the fixed menu. So disappointed to start the evening out. Made the best of it. Selected our meal. Was good, steak cold. Desert was significantly underwhelming. I personally wouldn't order any of the three items. Only the raspberry tart I would even consider as a last option in the future; but definitely not my first second or third choice. Server was good and did a great job. I understand the need on a busy night to simplify the menu I get it but my expectations weren't met as I wasn't aware of the fixed menu. A few hours after we left I began having severe stomach pains until I awoke this morning (Saturday). Coincidence or not maybe. Whether I missed the fixed menu or not. The evening wasn't what we looked forward too and below par to what we have experienced and expect from the Lake House.
Our Valentine's lunch was fantastic! Many thanks to our server Emma!
One of our absolute favourites. The service is always top notch and the food is always delicious!!!
Amazing gnocchi and brie.. lovely service. Beautiful view too!
The food service was just OK...nothing outstanding my sweet potatoe fries were actually cool...it’s was fairly loud for a Sunday afternoon...
This is our first time trying brunch/lunch menu and the food was very good. We had nice view over the lake and our server was very friendly. We have not been there since the renovation and were hoping to have a quieter experience...which was not the case...and we liked the cozier feel prior to the reno. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.
I am a chef myself, in Toronto. My boyfriend had been to your restaurant and raved about it. So, we went... The setting is so lovely , the warm bread delicious, the Brie skillet with roasted garlic, figs and honey was sublime.. the salmon with pecan crust and honey dijon cream sauce and sweet potato's superb and the creme brulee, well I could have bathed in that ramekin...if only I could fit.. We will return, and of course I will rave to my chef colleagues about The Lake House....
Kudo's chef !! his team, management and everyone one else who is responsible for your superb success !!
Chef Tammy in Toronto
Milestone's quality of food at ridiculous prices. Would rather of chosen a restaurant in the GTA/Toronto that night for the cost.
Dinner was amazing ...nice touch with the cheesecake for Evlyns Birthday and the bd confetti it was cute amazing dinner
The restaurant has very beautiful views of Lake Ontario and we were fortunate to get a table by the window. Food was fine however, our server accidentally spilled and broke a full wine glass when she was setting down our food. Spilled on to my husband's jacket. Accidents happen, however, we were surprised that they wouldn't offer to replace the wine they spilled nor show any concern of wine being spilled on my husbands suede jacket. Their reaction ruined my customer experience. Having been here a few times in the past, I hope this was a one off occurrence and not their new level of customer service as I really love the location of this restaurant. I would still recommend it for the views and the food.
We got a window seat, and the food was wonderful, as always. Try the Mediterranean Risotto!
For many years we pass by this restaurant whenever we go to Niagara and always wanted to try it out and this time while checking Open Table while in Niagara on a random drive, Lake House popped up which reminded me about wanting to dine there.
We were quickly brought to our table as soon as we arrived even though there was a party ahead of us. Service was prompt and pleasant, not overly excessive attention. New England chowder was delicious....hearty and rich with clams. Escargots with pastry and the sauce was different from what I’ve had and also generous with portions and size. Lamb shanks were tender and moist.
Nice ambience and dining room layout offers great views of the lake. A lot of diners in the restaurant and several more arriving as we were leaving.
Definitely worth the visit and definitely will go back!
Menu is not overly large with two many options.
Something for everyone.
We loved the new fresh decor! , and the service was great!
We all enjoyed our delicious & satisfying lunches, and , the special touches for my friend's birthday was appreciated.
There was a louder group beside us , which was a bit distracting.. But that's the only negative.
My husband and I quietly celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary here. The small touches, like the confetti hearts on the table and the complementary cheesecake dessert, really made our day extra special. Our server was attentive, but not intrusive. I ordered the crusted salmon with sweet potato and asparagus and my husband has the beef short ribs. Everything was delicious! I would be happy to recommend the Lake House for a special occasion or a simple dinner out. Even on a cloudy day, the view is beautiful.
Knowledgeable waiters make decision making easy. Lively atmosphere with cozy corners.
We were seated earlier than out reservation.
Appetizers were good. Although I prefer a little more cheese on my charcuterie board, the selection of meats was good.
The entree, seafood paella for two was superb and could have easily been shared by 4 or 5 people.
The waitress often disappeared for long periods of time and if we said, thank you for something her response was, "yep", instead of a polite, "you're welcome".
Overall, we truly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back!!
Amazing every time. We go here whenever we have a babysitter and are never disappointed.
My third, and definitely not my last visit. The Brie Skillet is amazing. The mushroom pizza was meh, but the burger, I'm a vegetarian so it's my friend's words, was worth it. The salads are unique and tasty. The drinks are delicious!
We have been to The Lake House on a number of occasions and it never fails to deliver. Whether you are a large group or a couple, the service is spot on and the food is always great. Last nite was no exception ... it was date night and Leah our server was attentive and there at just the right moments ... see you folks soon!
Food was delicious and the portions were very filling!
The setting on the lake and the always-full parking lot was what drew us here in the first place. We had been before and weren't too impressed then. After hearing from friends that they had updated the decor we decided to go again. Hoping to come away feel differently this time but unfortunately didn't. The food is quite pricey and good but certainly not great. For the money I would expect better food quality. There were 4 in our party. Two ordered Pizzas. One was the Mediterranean and was ok - nothing special at all. The second pizza was Arrabbiata and was good but again, nothing out of the ordinary. Lamb also ordered and was fine but covered in a sauce that was just ok. Steak was fine - not the best and definitely not worth the price (he gives it a 6/10). The four of us agreed that we wouldn't order anything again. The meal for the four of us was $200 (none of us had alcohol) and we all agreed that there are so many amazing restaurants in the area that offer first-rate food for similar prices and so we likely won't go back.
Food was great and service was attentive.
A date with my husband.
Excellent food and service!
Amazing dinner for my mother in-laws birthday and great service will totally be back
Very loud. Food was good.
The food and service was excellent but the noise level was too difficult to talk. Probably would not return because of the noise issue.
We had a lovely date together - not having been to Lakehouse previously, it was a great first experience. I would definitely recommend others for a quaint fine dining experience with family or for a romantic date night. The food was exceptional as was the wine.
The view was really nice and the burger I had was delicious. The fries were very good too. We had a nice server.
We had reservations for 6pm for party of 4 under Bordeau. My friend and I arrived about 10- 15 min early we gave the name on the reservation and were seated immediately. We did mention that we were waiting for the other two guests to arrive . We ordered wine and waited until about 6:15 for the rest of our party only to find out they had arrived at 6:00pm and were told they could not find their reservation by two servers who checked . They were seated in a completely area and they indicated they were waiting on two more guests ( upon ther arrival they did say reservation was under Bordeau as they were the news that made the reservation ). Only for me texting after waiting til 6:24 did we find out they were seated somewhere else in the restaurant. Not sure how this mix up happened I totally would understand if it was busy that night but it wasn't we did finally enjoy our meal with one complaint the chicken was served wit a vegetable that was so hard it could not be chewed.
Setting , food and service are at a very high level. Noise level including poor taste in music makes conversion a challenge at times!
Overall great experience. Our server, cannot remember if it was Kristina or Katrina, but she was excellent
