Whenever I have visitors from out of town, I take them to the Lake House for either lunch or dinner. The great view originally brought me there, but the equally great food has kept me coming back over the years. In fact, it has become so popular, that when I met friends there for dinner two days ago, the noise level was almost intolerable as the three of us were seated between two large parties of very loud people. However, when I complained to our server Emily and asked if we could be seated elsewhere, she was able to make this happen in less than 5 minutes and we were relocated to an area in the restaurant where we could hear ourselves think. Emily also quickly replaced my cod special when I told her that the fish should still be swimming in water... So, the moral to my story is that, although it is wonderful to be such a successful business, I think the owners do need to take some care to ensure that they do not let the overall quality of the dining experience at the Lake House does not suffer as a result of its success.
We went with my sister and her husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary. The service was so wonderful as they had a special table set up, and included a special dessert for the happy couple. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the calamari and mussels to start, followed by the lobster and shrimp Mac n cheese for 3 of us, and cod for another. Our mains were savoury and incredible. We were impressed!
celebrated our 45th anniversary. We were treated very well. Was very nice to sit at the window to see the aweome sunset. We both enjoyed our food. Hubbie had tiger shrimp linguini and i had veal parm. Our server gave us complimentary dessert for our anniversary. The only downside is it is very noisy. The accoustics are terrible. We could barely hear the server telling us the specials...she was very nice about repeating them.
I took my mother and her friend for lunch
To celebrate my mom’s 91st birthday. They were both delighted with the experience and I’m sure will be taking about it for weeks to come.
Thank you to all the staff for making my mother feel so special.
Great food and service. Really loud and bathrooms could use some repairs
Great food - outstanding
Bad table we got for booking with open table. By bar and Kitchen. I expected better than that but service and food. Good!!!!!
Exceeded my expectations! Perfect spot to celebrate our Anniversary.
Always a great meal and our last one was the best. Look forward to going here
We made reservations, and did not get asked about dining outside? We were put in the far corner by the kitchen. There was 1 child who was loud and was not taught restaurant manners, and also someone wearing a baseball cap for their meal? As such an expensive restaurant that we save for only the very special anniversary dinners. I was sad to be in that situation.
Shelley, our waitress was very nice and helpful.
Great place for a date. The patio is amazing in the summer.
Overall experience was ok . We managed to get a table on the patio which was just as the sun was setting . Shortly after we received our dinners we had a visitor to the patio. Baby Pepe ! Although it didn’t bother me personally the other 3 people in my part were not impressed. As people that always eat out for business and by that i mean 6-7 days a week , i can’t see them bringing clients there , unless it was in the dining room. I can appreciate that you can’t control nature 100% but putting boards up around the bottom of the patio so they couldn’t leasurly walk around bothering guests isn’t a bad idea. For a higher end restaurant , the last thing people want to see are skunks walking the patio. If my party is to return , I’m sure it would be in the winter inside the restaurant.
Great food great service nothing to complain about
Looks great with the new renovations! I had dined in with my boyfriend for date night, was a last minute decision but they were able to accommodate my request for a window seat. Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Our server Courtney was very attentive, kind and extremely helpful. My boyfriend had enjoyed the charcuterie board so much that she had went ahead and found out where we can get some of the meats for ourselves. We really appreciated it! Food was a amazing. We can’t wait to come back.
We love the Lakehouse. The noise level is great so you can carry on a conversation very easily. There is a good variety of food to choose from and the wait staff are very accommodating. Food of course is excellent!
Ate outside. Disappointed umbrellas were down due to high winds. No umbrellas meant no shade.
Good thing someone in our group had sunscreen and we all brought hats.
Food and service as very good but just one comment... need to have a better selection of sampler desserts. All the ones offered contained cream. Not good for lactose intolerance customers.
Food was good but relatively expensive but you are paying for the location. Seated on the patio beautiful ambiance right next to the lake. Waitress was not very friendly, seemed to be having a off day but the service was ok.
Everything’s delicious! My husband and i were celebrating birthday here and the restaurant is amazing!! The lake view is fabulous and highly recommend daily catch!
Great location, fabulous food, birthday dinner for a friend, excellent experience
Calamari was too bready. Pizza was great! Rose wine excellent! Server very attentive and professional.
Loved the food very much, just wasnt totally happy with where our table was. Also, wasnt very happy that my coffee came after I finished my dessert. Was kinda hoping to have them together. Otherwise, my dinner and appetizer was excellent!
Noise level so high I may not go back. Hire an acoustic company to get some advice.
Went for the first time for date night. Showed up 15 minutes early for reservation and they had my table ready to go. Food was fantastic. Waitress Emma was very friendly and helpful with the wine.
We have been to the Lake House Restaurant many times over the years. Never have we been disappointed with the food or service.
1 year wedding Anniversary
Well trained staff - there when you need them, not when you don't. Food was delicious! It was our anniversary and they dropped little hearts on our table - nice touch which had all the staff wishing us a happy anniversary!. Manager came by to ask about service, even though they are packed and have been around for quite a while, the manager is not letting things slide.
Great view, great service, great food - will definitely visit again and highly recommend!
no waiting at the door, the table was ready, proceeded to our table with little plastic hearts, where Jenifer welcomed us, being our first time at the Lake House, she answered all of our questions, our food was served in the "proper" manner by well trained servers. I saw something SMART, a server placed an entree at the table next to ours, the food required grated parmesan cheese to enhance its flavor, the young male server arrived with a cheese grater, with the cheese already grated, it was left in the center of the grater, ready for distribution, no grating done at the table and/or served with a spoon from a large parmesan bowl. Whomever trained the server should receive a standing ovation,INGENUITY!! bravo to the trainer(s), never seen it before, I doubt that I will ever see it anywhere but at the Lake House....the cheese was served right out of the grater.......done at a busy busy place on a saturday night, that in itself is something to admire. no shortcuts..... Although there was a large crowd conversation hub, it was cozy, we felt part of the diners but yet we were "alone". We shall return to the Lake House on our next trip to Niagara Falls.
Henri & Diane Roy,
We had planned to arrive right at opening time (11:30) and had made a reservation for that time but traffic from Toronto was too slow. Luckily I could modify the reservation on the fly with Open Table which I did. It was a beautiful day and we worried we wouldn’t get a table on the terrace overlooking the lake but we did and passing through the newly renovated interior we realized we would be happy eating inside as well. The owners did a great job on the remodel on both the interior and the terrace.
Our server Kelli (yes that’s Kelli with an “i”) arrived, let us know they have a more limited menu in the summer but there were lots of choices although we would recommend they add a daily signature sandwich to that menu. My partner and I shared the Calamari and the Baked Brie. The Calamari was delicately floured, tender as can be and not at all greasy and it came with three dipping sauces: Sweet Chili, a Curry Aioli and a Basil Pesto Aioli which were all good. The Baked Brie could be addictive! A basket of tasty rolls was just the right touch.
Kelli was fantastic - efficient, informative, with a good sense of humour and she made everyone feel that her attention was entirely on their table. All the staff in fact, work as a team who enjoy what they do. Thanks for a delightful little get-away from the city. We’re now thinking of an overnight in the area so we can have dinner there one day.
Excellent everything from the moment we sat down. The seafood Paella is absolutely Devine!
Excellent food and atmosphere.
Perfect spot to stop on the way to Niagara or on your way back to Toronto. The view is breathtaking, the service is outstanding and the food is amazing. 5/5 stars for this place.
LakeHouse house salad was delicious! Good view and friendly service.
We had a wonderful meal. I felt the cream carmel dessert was too sweet. There were spiders hanging on the rail & one dropped down from our umbrella....the waitress almost walked into it. This made me a little uncomfortable. 😂Glad it was toward dusk...not complaining but maybe it would help. The new look inside is great! We have been & will come again.
Enjoyed dinner at the Lake House. Was disappointed that you only serve prime rib on Saturdays . I think for your specials for this reason you should have a beef choice on your menu. Will come back again for sure to enjoy a prime rib dinner at your establishment.
An improvement over years past however, although I would recommend - it’s just ok
The salmon for $24.95 was a very small portion, 4 bites to be specific.
The top of the crème Brule was so thick that one of my crowns fell off. Cost me $190 to get it recemented today. You had to bound it with a fork in order to scoop out the crème.
The outside ambiance was fantastic. This was my first time and I found the menu selection was not enough of a choice. Great cappuccino and excellent lime frozen cocktail. Love sitting outside.
MacKenzie was our server and she was Outstanding. Attentive, courteous and thoughful. The service she provided us was the whole reason our 26th Anniversary dinner was a huge success.
A friendly welcome and we were very impressed with our server, Chris. He was warm, cordial and knowledgeable. We felt very well taken care of and enjoyed our afternoon immensely!
Interesting brunch menu and outstanding service made our visit a wonderful experience.
Always drive by this restaurant when heading to Niagara and have been wanting to try it! It was my boyfriends birthday over the weekend and I made reservations to celebrate. Lets start off by talking about how perfect the location is-- Situated right on lake Ontario with a breathtaking view. The inside has such a cozy feel, similar to a cottage with a clean, modern twist to it. The service was absolutely fantastic and our overall experience was 5/5. There was birthday confetti waiting for us at the table when we got there, and we got a couple of appetizers, the calamari and brie skillet which were super tasty and had some unique flavors. We both ordered the lobster and shrimp mac & cheese for our entree which consisted of gnocchi in a cream sauce drizzled and baked in grated cheese. I would highly recommend this place to others and look forward to our next visit!
Great experience all around. Food, service, view.
