Was very disappointed in the quality of food from El Dorado. We have been here in the past and the food is always pricey but generally was good. When you order a $25 lamb burger you expect a real lamb patty not a frozen patty that is over cooked and doesn’t even taste like lamb. If I wasn’t with clients I would have sent it back as it was not good at all.
If you are going to lower the quality of the food then you should lower the prices.
Great food and service even at night the view is spectacular!!
Not sure if it was just Covid protocols but the dining menu specials were all meat options, no fish, shellfish, vegetarian options. The lamb was served rare not medium rare and not seasoned and pricy. Basil and mint across the streat serves the identical meal at half the price. Waiter was good. food not so much
The beautiful setting and fabulous service more than make up for the fact that the menu is a little pricey. The food is delicious.
Food was good, but we didn’t have salt or pepper or anything for toast at the table and had to wait after once our food got there to be given those things. Our waitress and service wasn’t good, she didn’t have any enthusiasm to her especially it being Valentine’s Day. There was no music and it seemed unromantic and gloomy. Every other time has been really nice.
Food was beyond amazing, delicious! Service was great, the waiter kept up with us very well.
Excellent surroundings and ambience. Great service and timeliness. A little expensive for the portions as with most fine dining. Salad was so fresh I swear they have a garden in the kitchen.
We were 2 seated quite close to a table to 4 who were very noisy. There were 3 tables to our left that were empty so why not seat the first seating in a more private way especially for a Valentine's experience. Very disappointed with the lack of intimacy created by the closeness to this noisy table quite close to us.
Absolutely delicious meals, artfully presented and graciously served. Combined with the atmosphere & ambiance, this dining experience is hard to top.
Lovely evening here great atmosphere & food always wonderful!
You can never go wrong at the Eldorado. Great food, great service and always with a smile.
Food and service were good but the wine was outrageously expensive. The house wine was the only one which was reasonable and fortunately was not too bad. Not especially good but not too bad. In my opinion, priced in line with the quality. The other wines which were not outstanding in any way were $23 per 9 oz glass. Ridiculous. The setting was lovely.
Food very good, limited selection but excellent. Service amazing and friendly. Could be more observant of other tables as diners next to us were introducing themselves to each other and not wearing masks - so were not from same bubble.
Excellent food and service.
Will definitely revisit, hopefully with friends in the future.
One of our favorite places to go for a meal! Love the view and ambience. Food is great, although wine is pricey.
Very peaceful & lovely setting. Servers were friendly & did their job well. Food could have been better especially for the price. I'd recommend coming here based on the service, ambiance & professionalism especially since so many others places lack great service. My thought is that due to Covid - it's quite tough to maintain top tier food supply so my heart goes out to the restaurants trying their best.
Great breakfast. Good service
Thank you. Service and food terrific
For afternoon tea, there should be a greater selection. There was only 1 regular black tea (orange pekoe); the other 2 black teas were Earl Grey Cream - a very particular tea the rest were herbal which is not what high tea enthusiasts go for. For food, which was very good, I would remove at least one dessert and add another sandwich. The menu is heavily dessert focused and after scones with jam, one really doesn't need much more sugar. A little cookie would be fine. Service was ok but not polished. My husband's orange pekoe was served in a Japanese tea pot - save that for the green tea. Our server also brought our two heavy tea pots on one tray and we almost had two hot pots in our laps. It was precarious at best and dangerous at worst. Add some more teas and alter the menu and we'll be back because we the food was good.
Excellent service and good food. Would definitely go back.
After my father's death a week before Christmas, decided to have Christmas dinner at The El with my son. While the decor and lakeside ambience lovely, and service excellent disappointed in the dry, tough turkey! The sides and dessert delicious though. Kind of wonder if it was left overs from the take out dinners the day before. I brine my turkey at home and know how to roast a moist one. Kind of disappointing for the price...
A beautiful pre Christmas dinner.
Our server needed to stop continually touching his mask and pulling it forward. There was a feeling of unease at our table because of this, not sure why he did this every time he spoke. That leads me to believe that hand washing and sanitation was also not up to standards.
There was also a lack of communication where soups were concerned. We were not table of smaller portions and were brought large bowls followed by our dinner. Too much food!
We felt safe as the server wore a mask and kept her distance from us. The tables were spaced out so you were not close to anyone.
I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. My partner had the trout and that too was excellent.
For dessert we choose the triple chocolate desserts and OMG I’m still dreaming about them.
By the way they make the best Lattes in Kelowna.
A lovely evening all round.
We have been dining at the El since 2014. Best experience yet !! Food was incredible start to finish. Quality presentation service cocktails ambiance ... perfect. It was a magical night. It’s great to see El dining putting the focus back on quality food. With too many high tourism years... locals found El had lost it’s consistency in the kitchen. Not anymore ... El chefs have made things right again. Well
Done. We look forward to paying patronage to this landmark establishment. They have earned our business again.
Relaxing lunch catching up with friends
The Value food for.you money is not in it. The charcuterie board was well presented but the cheeses and meat taste more from superstore the the local home made one.
The burger was very poor in them of taste and the tenderloin was a not at is best for the price.
The wine was very good thank God but the waiter did not know anything about serving it.
Very expensive for what it was and disappointing.
Date night at The El was terrific. The steak frites were the best ever, and The Eldorado creme brule was a special finishing touch. The attentive service of Tyler made the evening wonderful!

Wonderful ! Thanksgiving dinner was lovely !
We made a reservation for 12:30pm on Sunday; apparently this was the only time the dining room could accommodate us. When we arrived there was no room in the dining room. We were seated in the bar by ourselves. Our eggs Benedict were dry, did you run out of hollandaise sauce? Very poor.
went for our 10 year anniversary expecting good ambiance and fine food. can't blame the restaurant for the weather but the covering they put up to block wind for the outdoor seating really killed the ambiance. the food was not good, despite the menu implying that it is fine dining. we each ordered steaks and they were way overcooked and honestly not really recognizable as steak - i have had way better steak sandwiches from the neighborhood pub for a fraction of the price. we cut bait and picked up dessert from the grocery store after seeing the dessert we thought about ordering, getting delivered to the table beside us.
Had a very nice dinner at Lakeside, sitting on the enclose patio. I had the surf and turf special and the beef was the best I have had in Kelowna. Interesting memorabilia in the dining room and around the hotel in general. Would recommend for everyday or special occasion. The staff were very careful and cautious in this time of Covid.
Birthday on the boardwalk
Great food and venue!! It is a nice environment quiet
This place is so cute the food was so good the wine even better service was good happy attentive server I found the prices kinda high definitely a “ rich” older crowd or special occasion kind of place
Delicious food and great service. Very good experience like usual.
I love this place ! Every time I come to kelowna it’s a must visit .the patio is amazing .
A delightful lunch lakeside at The Eldorado. Great wine selection, lots of variety in the charcuterie selections and attentive service. A wonderful experience to share with friends and family.
