Nestled in the hills of Ka'u, enjoy an unrivaled dining experience that combines breathtaking panoramic views with an exceptional culinary journey. Being a truly Mauka to Makai experience (meaning from the mountain to the sea in Hawaiian), you can view the top of Mauna Loa and the Ka'u coastline while enjoying locally sourced ingredients from Mauka to Makai.Embracing the spirit of the islands, we take pride in highlighting the Canoe Crop ingredients - native plants cultivated by the early Polynesian settlers who arrived in Hawaii by canoe. These ingredients, deeply rooted in Hawaiian history, add a unique and authentic touch to our dishes. We work closely with nearby farmers and fishermen to ensure that most ingredients used in our dishes are locally grown or sustainably foraged from the surrounding lands and ocean. This supports the local community and allows us to create dishes that are incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and in harmony with the natural rhythms of the island.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted and treated like family. We arrived a bit early and chose to sit at the bar area joining locals and others before being seated at our table. Chose a couple of house specialty cocktails that were a delicious twist. FORC manager Jessica; set the tone, with a happy and accommodating disposition from the get go. Seasonal menu changes depending upon availability and abundance of locally organic produce that is incorporated into menu, besides the traditional favorite dining choices. Wine selection for every budget in each category. Father’s Day special of Tomahawk steak was ordered by the celebrating dad presented with mashed potatoes, grilled squash. Outstanding, did not disappoint. Alan Hess and Team hits all the points. 5 stars. Coming back very soon.
