Italian | Bethesda / Chevy Chase,

"Cesco Osteria is located where the McCormick &Schmick used to be on Woodmont ave., a few steps from the Bethesda Metro station. The outdoor dining area is large and pleasant and it includes a trendy Beer Garden area. The food is very good with a typical Italian selection. I had the fish stew and it had all the usual ingredients - clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari and several kinds of fish. The accompanying toast could have been better. My companions had two different pastas, both of which were also very good. This is Francesco Ricchi's most recent restaurant. Yes, the Ricchi for whom i Ricchi on 19th St. is named. Francesco is from Tuscany and produces authentic Italian cuisine."See more

Steakhouse | Bethesda / Chevy Chase,

"We went to this Morton's for the first time on my husband's birthday. Despite the fact that I'd forgotten to note the special occasion, they gave us a specially printed menu and a complimentary dessert to share, plus sang to him and took a souvenir photo. The staff was very friendly and skilled and the double porterhouse for two was memorable. It's the perfect place for a "meatlover's feast". (And the Power Hour at the bar was wonderful too, as is its location in the Hyatt at the Bethesda Metro station.)"See more

Chinese (Sichuan) | Bethesda / Chevy Chase,

"Q is by far our favorite restaurant in Bethesda. The food is outstanding. While I'm always disappointed not to see some of my past favorites still on the menu (e.g., jalapeño beef; hot and numbing beef noodle) Chef Chang nevertheless delights us with new additions. The chili prawn dish I had was beautiful to behold and utterly delicious. Others at our table enjoyed the cumin shredded chicken and crispy diced beef with peanut. We always get the dry-fried eggplant for an appetizer and should remember to order 2 plates, not just one. It is scrumptious."See more

Belgian | Bethesda / Chevy Chase,

"We arrived breathlessly on time for a 6:45 reservation and were awarded an outdoor table. (Inside is “energetic” beyond our tolerance.) Service by Mark was prompt, friendly, helpful, and consistent: he never lost track of us. After an imaginative greens and apple salad for her, and a classic gruyere-topped onion soup for him, we ordered mussels beyond our white wine-garlic comfort zones. He the Spanish version with a sauce glowing with roasted red pepper, she a version with bacon and mushrooms. Both were worth the risk, but we’d still declare traditional white wine-garlic the real thing. A cold bottle of NZ Marlborough sauvignon blanc accompanied. Did we need dessert? Noooo, but an ice cream cake put him over the top while she sipped an Irish coffee. A friend with strong Belgian connections declares Mussels as Best of Breed. We agree."See more
