Since 2012, Fonda La Catrina has been serving up Mexican comfort food and drink with quality ingredients and lots of love. We are a Mexico City style restaurant and bar located in the heart of the lively and loud Georgetown neighborhood in Seattle. Handmade tortillas, chips, salsas, tacos, braised puerco in salsa verde, tamales, mole de Poblano; all made in house by our talented team in the kitchen. The house made ethos extends to our bar as well. Agave spirits rule with fresh juices, infusions and seasonal fruits that inspire our bar team weekly. We feature Mexican and local beers as well as old world wines to match the vivid flavors of the Mexican cuisine we serve.

Tex-Mex cuisine began in the Rio Grande Valley before migrating up to San Antonio during the l860's where a group of women known as The Chili Queens' began to pop up in the city's plazas selling chili con carne with tamales, enchiladas, and chili verde. They incorporated cumin into their dishes favored by settlers from theCanary lslands, which still has a strong influence on Mexican food in Texas. Tex-Mex also loves beef, flour tortillas, yellow cheese, fajitas and more.Our inspiration comes from the many classic Tex-Mex restaurants including Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, Papasito's, Ninfa's, Blue Goose, Hugo's, Herrerra's Cafe, Chuy's, Valentina's Tex-Mex and many more. Jackalope combines excellent Central Texas-style smoked meats from Jack's BBQ with delicious Tex-Mex dishes. lt's truly the best of both worlds!

    Excellent food. Our table had different enchiladas and the asada plate, and it was all delicious. Super thick tortilla chips and smokey salsa. Loved the spice level in all of it. Packed on the weekends - we beat an hour wait time by having an OpenTable reservation!

    Great as always. We had 2 servers throughout the night, both were excellent. The bartender even brought out my drink. Thanks for the excellent service and food!
