A little about us & the culture that has been created… Friedmans is a family run business, which operates locations throughout New York City. Friedmans was named after the famous economist Milton Friedman who popularized the phrase, “there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”. This phrase has gone on to be used in science, economics, finance, statistics, technology, sports, & now food. However, to put it simply, “to get one thing we like, we usually have to give up another thing we like.” Our mantra is simple, “Eat good food” and this is what we strive to deliver to our guests. For us, it has two meanings. Firstly, eat food that tastes good. Secondly, be proud of the food you serve. We know where our food comes from. We communicate regularly with our farmers and are proud to serve antibiotic free meats & local vegetables. Our mission is for you to love, respect, & enjoy, not only the food you serve, but also the team you work with.

So my reservation was booked for the special omakase for 10pm. When I came, the manager told me they stop doing the special omakase 30 minutes before the doors close, which would be 9:45 because doors close at 10:15. I wish they would have put that online, or at the very least had the reservationist that contacted me tell me that so I could make my reservation earlier, given that I wanted to try it and I was celebrating my birthday. Because of that, we couldn’t get to try it and I had to order off the regular menu, which was still great. Nonetheless, the manager kindly comped our desserts as a way to apologize and reconcile their error. If you want the special 30th omakase for the week, then please keep this in mind! Otherwise, dinner was amazing.

My friend was visiting from Florida and asked me to choose a spot for lunch. I had been wanting to try Bad Roman for a while but had trouble securing dinner reservations. Since we were meeting for lunch, it was the perfect opportunity to finally dine there. The food was incredible. The calamari was the best we've ever had, and the tuna tartare was equally impressive—so fresh, though the presentation could have been better. The yellowfin tuna salad was delicious, and my friend really enjoyed her Chicken Caesar Salad. For dessert, we had tiramisu along with cappuccino and coffee, which were fantastic. Overall, it was a great experience, and we absolutely loved it.

It was a lovely, lovely lunch for my Mother & Father in law's anniversary. They were so impressed with all the attention they received. And they loved the beautiful gift box of chocolate truffles. The staff were so great! Very attentive and polite. Wonderful food! Mum said they were the biggest prawns (shrimp) she'd ever seen!
