"Stopped in while I was in town for a conference. Excellent Guiness Beef Stew paired with very tasty, warm brown bread and a Smithwicks made for a wonderful meal. Very nice waitstaff and a quiet atmosphere, I was there early evening."See more
"Jeanette and crew took very good care of us. It was a party of 13 and we were located in a separate room.
There were quite a few people from out of town and everyone loved it from beginning to end.
I have been here several times before for different occasions and they never disappoint."See more
"Simply amazing! From the ride up in the elevator to stepping off and into a true "Bygone" era, we truly had a wonderful experience at this Baltimore hot spot! We were there for my birthday celebration, and everything from the sophisticated dining service (well done John!), to the amazingly flavorful and creative dishes, to the after-dinner drinks in their sexy whiskey lounge, to the absolutely gorgeous view of the Inner Harbor, made my birthday celebration one to remember! We will most definitely be back as soon and as often as possible.
Tremendously memorable food dishes:
- Cajun Fried cauliflower
- King Crab Meuniere
- Truffled Pommes Frites
- Wagyu Beef en Brochette
- Prime Rib
- Baked Alaska
- Creme Brulee"See more
"Gia provides consistently good authentic Italian food in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Restaurant is beautiful yet unpretentious. Service is impeccable. This is the way Italians eat today."See more
"Great how it is now and I hope they do not change it. It doesn’t need to be another fancy restaurant in Harbor East. Let it be a casual restaurant bar that has a dj and some great pizza. Some of the menus are a little pricey for what it is but it has a cool feel."See more
"Cinghiale never fails to hit the bull's eye. I know of no place where you can get foie gras, sweetbreads, and Terre Nere Prephyloxera, and have them all be perfect. If you have not been, you really need to go."See more
"Went there on the STRONG recommendation of the concierge at the hotel AND after reading Baltimore Magazine’s stellar review.
This is an excellent choice for a good, authentic, traditional Italian meal. Great house-made pasta and a very good filet. The vodka sauce was the best we’ve ever had. DO NOT fail to order the Gorgonzola cheese bread...it’s a religious experience. Everything seemed very fresh and the flavors were spot on.
Our waiter was like something out of Central Casting. An older Italian gentleman who’s worked there for about 20 years. He was attentive but low-key. Just right.
The place was full, yet pretty quiet. The crowd seemed to be comprised of well-to-do couples on double dates, numerous business diners and a couple of pretty good sized groups of 20-something’s. Seemed to be all locals. Everyone well-heeled and well behaved. This place is fun - not staid at all - but NOT the place for a rowdy, loud party. ‘Nuff said.
The decor is exactly what you would expect from an older, traditionally upscale Italian place: nice, dignified, quietly comfortable. Nobody’s trying to push the envelope either with respect to cuisine OR ambiance. And, you’re like us, that’s just dandy.
As we were making our way to the door, we casually mentioned that we intended to call an Uber to take us to a locally famous gelato joint. They INSISTED on having us driven to this establishment in their own shuttle bus. (They offer dessert so the gelato place is, in actuality, a quasi-competitor of theirs). The polite, college-age driver then drove us on to our hotel. This is an example of old-school class.
We had a memorable meal in a quiet, comfortable setting at a reasonable price. What’s not to like?
We’re going to be back in Baltimore again soon and we’ll be returning to La Scala."See more
"We had the Bookmaker salad and our server shared the story behind the salad and some other tidbits about the restaurant. The homemade dressing is the perfect finish, but be aware that this salad is a meal in itself and a Sabatino's tradition. The lasagna was rich and tasty and it was just an enjoyable meal. We went late on a Sunday evening so it was easier to park and the restaurant was quieter than normal."See more
"Very tasty Mediterranean cuisine with lots of choices, all of them good. The octopus was particularly tasty (marinated, roasted, and then lightly grilled) and I don't normally like octopus. This stuff was not the chewy eraser one finds too often! Try it. Decent wine list and beer offerings with traditional and unusual tapas small plates. Near the Inner Harbor and in a gentrifying neighborhood."See more
"We were in Baltimore on business and found Germano’s Piattini after a very busy few days. The food choices are diverse and difficult to chose from. The red beet ravioli and the shrimp with linguine were delicious. Our server Keith recommended substuting the house made pasta for the linguine which was terrific. Perfectly cooked. We love vegetables, so the brussel sprouts with ricotta cheese and bacon were wonderful along with the grilled artichoke, which made the meal. We finished off with homemade cheesecake and tiramisu. The best cheesecake ever!
You can’t go wrong at Germano’s Piattini."See more
"Well prepared Italian dishes that tasted very authentic. Best lasagna ever!! Interesting and delicious cannoli! Pleasant atmosphere! We were there on a weekday afternoon for lunch. Charlie, our server, gave us lots of attention and was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu. Hope to return when we are once again in Baltimore."See more
"Amicci’s was fantastic. They were able to seat 9 of us in our own room. The food was excellent and our server Jake was just the best! Will definitely be going back next time I am in Baltimore!"See more
"We had dinner here last Saturday night. It was a little hard to find since they don’t have a real sign out front. We got a table upstairs overlooking the main dining room which was nice and quiet. The service was great and the manager and chef came to our table to talk to us. We started with drinks my wife had a martini and I have an orange crush which was not very good. We shared the Potato Latkes with Vodka and Lemon Dill Cured Wild Salmon and Mussels Mariniere both were great. And for dinner my wife had Roasted Halibut Wrapped in Prosciutto with Stewed Leeks very good. And I had The Marylander's Best Duet the Angus Filet was very good but the Crab cake was just ok not much taste."See more
