One of the best seafood restaurants in Galveston, Fisherman’s Wharf is a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal with all dining areas indoor or outdoor on the patio offering a view of the bay. Known for its famous Shrimp Kisses (bacon-wrapped and stuffed with jalapeño Jack cheese), selection of daily fresh fish, signature combination platters, and more. A Texas sized establishment perfect for one or one hundred, Fisherman’s Wharf is a legacy of great seafood since the 1940s. The site originally housed a shrimp and fish “factory” – an old tin building where mountains of Gulf shrimp were readied for shipment across the country. Shrimp from this very place was served to President John F. Kennedy at the White House. In 1966, the current building was constructed to meet the growing demand for Galveston shrimp, which many have acclaimed as

The gumbo was amazing. Some of the best I’d tasted. The fried shrimp platter was very tasty and the shrimp were huge! It was loud, and there were many families with small children, so it may have been the acoustics as well as the crowd.

We are local but for some reason we haven’t been to Number 13 in a few years. We had a fabulous meal, and were reminded how lucky we are to live in this beautiful town as we gazed out the windows and enjoyed the yachts and waterbirds. Our waitress was perfect, attentive but not intrusive. Good cocktails and wine list. Steak and fish were both perfectly cooked. The popover is warm and served with herbed butter, fairly filling so pace yourself! Dessert was amazing- the warm butter cake with berry sorbet had wonderful texture and flavor.

Gaido’s has been a family tradition for decades. My husband and I returned with our daughters for his 60th bday and loved it once again. Delicious food (the crostini is out of this world), Cristian’s service was impeccable and the atmosphere was as lovely as ever. Thank you for helping us make this milestone bday extra special! Shari.

Definitely coming back. I had the salmon a la plancha sub the white rice with dirty rice and it was amazing. My husband had the filet mignon and also subbed for dirty rice and he said it was amazing as well. The churros are a great way to end the meal. We both had peach tea which the tea is brewed and they add peach syrup. Our appetizer was the loaded potato bites that has a smooth and crunchy texture, think of fried mashed potatoes that look like mozzarella sticks. Great experience and highly recommend.
