El Tovar Dining Room and Lodge is a restaurant located inside the Grand Canyon National Park Lodges in Phoenix. It is a completely authentic local experience, as the dining room was constructed out of local stone and Oregon pine. The murals adorning the walls represent four Native American Tribes of the area: the Navajo, Apache, Mojave and Hopi. Everything from the decor to the menu is the ideal blend of rustic and traditional.
The menu itself features Southwest cuisine with international influences. Meals are hearty and filling, appropriate for a eatery that was once frequented by cowboys and settlers. The entres are wide, varied and delicious, but the most popular are the pork chop with apple jalapeno chutney. Diners can also choose roasted quail stuffed with basil polenta, topped with roasted red pepper tomato sauce and served with Israeli couscous and seasonal vegetables.
