"We made reservations to have dinner after a show. None of us had been to The Ellis before and we were pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was friendly, lively and definitely comfortable. Our waitress was awesome and the food was terrific. Some of us had full meals (ribs, cornish hen) and others had appetizers (roasted cauliflower, chicken wings). Everything was delicious. It was one of our party member's birthday and our waitress asked if it was alright if she brought a treat to the table. It was a plate of beignets - enough for all of us to enjoy. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. And the prices were very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!"See more

"This restaurant is an authentic gem. Far from the fancy and pompous service you would get in a typical steak-house in downtown, here you will find a friendly and authentic environment. The food is delicious. We had one of the best tenderloin steak ever, it melted in our mouth. We also ordered the 4-courses meal, which is amazing value and gives a large choice among the items of the a-la-carte menu. "Excellent place to eat brunch or dinner. So far I have tried the French onion soup, baguette, duck, omelette and French toast. All tastes great with surprisingly large portions and arrives hot so it is clearly fresh out of the kitchen. Coffee tastes a little acidic with an after taste from what I am used to; perhaps suits a different pallette. Service was very attentive. My water never went empty. Wonderful French cuisine and there was no rush at this restaurant. We took our time eating and enjoying each other's company. A good find indeed and highly recommended."See more
