"I loved the idea of eating Italian. As a vegetarian sometimes my options are limited. Pasta is a great “go-to”. But in an Italian restaurant its a feature. Flavours abounded. My husband and our friend started with a very tasty mussel and clam appetizer. I chose the mushroom pasta as my Main and was thrilled with the layers of flavour. When our waitress Anna told me that recipe was in their cookbook I read through to discover those layers. The subtle hint of basil and balsamic came from the addition of their bruschetta blend and a different level of flavour came from adding in a scoop of their pesto. "We felt there were not enough menu choices. The flatbread with dips was impossible to share. The falafel salad was amazing.

"Went for the pizza night and had great food and service. The Greek chicken pizza was excellent; the asparagus one was a little bland, but we tend to like strong flavours so more our issue than anything wrong with the pizza. The Pinot Noir at retail price was an excellent choice with the pizzas and we appreciated the starter salads being included. I wish I had noted our server’s name as he was great, particularly as he was also looking after a Christmas party group that night.
Always a treat to go to Summerhill and we are lucky to live just round the corner."See more
