In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. I had the wedge salad, filet, fries and crème brûlée for dessert. The filet was delicious and perfectly cooked; the other items were fine. We sat by the window overlooking the water and sunset which was very nice. Service was timely and noise level was quiet. We dined during the week though so it may be different on the weekends. I would recommend this restaurant for a nice night out.

Really great food, phenomenal service, great atmosphere. Highly recommend! Salad is huge and more than enough to share. We had oysters, the horseradish was on-point as was migonette. Joel was our waiter and he was a pleasure.
