The toast of the Texas coast. How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can’t. That’s why Gaido’s is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido’s is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there’s no denying Gaido’s is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido’s has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions– birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido’s can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. Plus, with the Pelican Club, private dining, catering, a new food truck and parking galore…it’s easy to see why Gaido’s -– for over 100 years – is truly the coastal classic.

The food was delicious and service was super warm and nice. Like everywhere, we noticed to hey were understaffed, but we never felt ignored. It was just a bit delayed. Five adults, one 22 month old for Father’s Day lunch. We tried Eggs Benedict, Chicken Milanese, ribeye, short rib, artisan bread plate, cheesesteak egg rolls, elote, brussel sprouts, and some cocktails. No one had any complaints. I wish I could remember our waiter’s name, but I was pretty sleep deprived. He was really nice and patient. We saw he had quite a lot of ground to cover in addition to us. I really want to come back in the evening and try the cocktails with dinner. Good price for good quality food. The atmosphere was great too.

Christy was our server and she was a delight. We got the duck fat fingerling potatoes, the corn with egg and truffle and two steaks, I don’t eat very much so they were kind enough to allow me to order off the kids menu a 3 ounce fillet and my mom got a 6 ounce fillet and both were cooked to perfection and delicious. I also got a bottle of wine and a few cocktails. Everything was wonderful. They also let you smoke/vape at the outdoor bar and provide an ashtray. Would definitely come back and eat here again.

Our family has probably driven past Gaido’s a hundred times and we finally decided we had to eat there. We have a new favorite restaurant—no wonder they’ve been on the island for 114 years!! Everything from the ambiance, the wait staff, the food, etc was amazing! Our server (Alatin—I may be spelling it wrong) was very attentive and had great menu suggestions. My kids even loved it and they’re very picky eaters. We are glad we finally stopped to eat at the restaurant with the giant blue crab on top! We can’t wait to come back again!!

We ate out on the patio area for an early lunch, we had a nice breeze and not too hot yet! Excellent service, fresh food and very relaxing experience. The blackened snapper was perfect, fried asparagus and mashed red potatoes were also excellent. We will definitely be back, it could not have been any better!
