An understated storefront hides a coveted skyline view—just one of the many ways you could underestimate this longtime cafe on Mount Baker’s main drag. The menu, the sign—even the name—are a bit of a throwback, but current owners Guy Devillier and David Hoefer took over in 2018 and keep things attuned to today. Carbonara packs more nuance than you might expect, the slightly crackly pizza’s better than it has to be, and the bar pours lambrusco and negroni. No wonder tables are loaded with a diversity of diners.

I met an old friend for a quiet rooftop bar dinner. The setting was perfect. Heat lamps were perfect, the food was very good, and the service was beyond perfect. The bartender came to my table to get my prefs for a crafted cocktail. The staff was patient and attentive, and at least 3 different folk served us over the course of the meal. I am definitely going back with wife and kids and other friends for a great personal dining venue.

The Pink Door was hard to find. It’s on a small backstreet with no signage, just a pink door that opens to a narrow staircase. The entrance was crowded with people trying to get walk-in seating. Fortunately we had reservations and were taken to a great table overlooking the water. Service was excellent as was the food. The Pink Door should be high on your list of restaurants in Seattle, but book well in advance.

Wonderful! Went to Salty’s for a special vacation lunch and the food was excellent! In addition to the food, the service from Jorge was awesome and the location had a great view right on the water. I was celebrating my birthday and the dessert was delicious. Highly recommend. Would go again.

We are regulars and always sit in the bar area, which is a little more intimate than the rest of the restaurant. We had 2 appetizers and shared a main, it was a perfect amount of food.
