We wanted to celebrate with our friend from India and he had several restaurants he recommended for good Indian food. Unfortunately, they all close on Monday. We decided to try Izanami. It was wonderful, the service was top notch and the recommended dishes were exceptional and perfect except that our friend is vegetarian. There are limited vegetarian options, especially when you compare to Indian restaurant offerings. Can’t fault Izanami. Just will choose otherwise for our vegetarian friends or when Japanese food is not the goal.

As usual, our dinner at the Taberna patio was delightful! Great food, great service and great ambience. Socia and the backup server were both delightful and engaging. Looking forward to our next visit! PS. I always forget to mention that it would be a great idea to add seat cushions and back pillows to the VERY hard tile bench. Just a thought!

Even though there is a lot of road construction outside their door, we finally navigated to the restaurant. It was so worth our effort. Our margaritas started the evening out nicely. We then split a Caesar salad and the ribeye fajitas. Both dishes were plentiful and delicious! Our server, Michael, was outstanding. He is prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. He made our night that much more special. When in Taos don’t miss out on Doc Martin’s restaurant.

We had an amazing meal for my husband's birthday. When we were seated, there was champagne waiting for us. This was a lovely touch. When my husband informed our waiter that I did not drink alcohol, he merely moved my glass to my husband's place. A few moments later, he brought me a lovely non-alcoholic drink so that I could join in the toast. I appreciated that so much! Our meal was simply amazing. We had the vegetarian tasting menu, and each and every course was fantastic - particularly the mushroom bisque and the Meyer lemon crepe. And our waiter, Jay, was simply incredible. Such incredible, gracious service! It was an exquisite evening.

The food was quite good, the space impressive, and the wine list limited but interesting. A German pinot noir that was very decent! The service, alas, became less attentive as the evening wore on. After the salad, I ordered a second glass of pinot that had not arrived by the time I'd finished the entré, and I canceled it; it showed up on the bill but was comped. I don't often eat in Taos, and don't know how the experience compares.
