It was sliced into generous pieces, not the rubbery slivers you sometimes get at lesser places. The flavor was equally impressive. The smoky char of the grilled octopus was balanced with a bright, citrusy vinaigrette, possibly with hints of lemon, olive oil, and herbs like oregano or thyme. The greens were fresh and crisp, and there were pops of acidity from cherry tomatoes and perhaps a touch of capers or pickled onion that added depth without overpowering the dish. It felt both indulgent and refreshing—something I could eat at the start of any meal without feeling weighed down.
