I ALWAYS prefer to dine inside Cafe Luxembourg. I believed the service was more attentive, the air conditioning comforable, the space pretty, the toilets clearn, and the place lively and so I never ask for a table outside. But last night I was with my niece and she asked if we could dine outside. It seems roomy and she thought the fresh air would be good for us and I said fine. And it was lovely. There was plenty of room, server was attentive and not overbearing, and we had plenty of room at a large table to be comfortable and not right on top of our fellow diners eavesdropping on their conversations. My eyes were opened.

It was our first time visiting Tavern on the Green and the host sat us in the room with all the windows on a 90 degree day. Between the heat from the kitchen and the heat from the sun, we asked to move to a different room. It was also a little loud in that room, as the noise carried. The host and manager were so incredibly kind, picked up everything from our table to relocate and moved us to a table near the bar. We even had the same server, who we absolutely loved! So we were glad to keep him. The food and service was fantastic. We hated to be such a pain in the you know what, but we were so grateful to the staff for working it out for us. Dining at Tavern on the Green was a bucket list item for sure and it exceeded our expectations.

Incredible food, atmosphere. Allow extra time to find it in the mall. Service the first time we went was perfect. The second time, bad/rushed/then slow. Best Caesar salad and tuna tartare we’ve had in a long time. Get the lemon dessert. We never order dessert but were told to get it and it was worth it. My daughter got the pasta with the pancetta. It was better than the rock shrimp pasta. Both were outstanding but the penne with pancetta was the best. Even with bad service the second time we went it’s a 10/10. Highly recommend.

I've eaten at Nice Matin several times—it's often my choice for a meal with a friend I want to catch up with: there's plenty of space between the tables, it's an open and airy place, the service is attentive but not obtrusive, and the food is delicious without being outrageously expensive. (Try the Salade Printemps.)
