- CCharlieLas Vegas •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoIt's been over forty years since we had been to this mainstay in Portland dining, and it did not disappoint! Not to be missed? The onion rings, of course! And, while we did not order the wedge salad, I certainly will the next time. The top sirloin - baseball cut - was terrific, and I've never met a potato I didn't like. I did bring half of each of them home to enjoy for lunch the next day, but that's half the fun of too much food! Our waiter was excellent, the cocktails (house Manhattan) and wine were too. The hallmark of a good steakhouse, I believe, is there should be a quiet, clubby vibe - and the Ringside fulfills this to a tee. I can't wait to go back (and, I'm NOT waiting another 40-years!More infoRingSide Steakhouse - UptownPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• NW Portland•4.8
- CChrisvipPortland / Oregon •14 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe ordered an avocado, mango and shrimp stack appetizer, scallops for the main entree and hot lava cake for dessert. Everything was delicious. The waiter was friendly, checked back at appropriate times and overall did a great job. Of course, the view is always magnificent. Great experience all around.More infoChart House Restaurant - PortlandPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Downtown•4.6

- DHDeHypnotistvipPortland / Oregon •8 reviews5.0Dined on Feb 15, 2024My wife and I first patronized Szechuan Chef when it was brand new in town, having just taken over Noble House's space. We were the first to review it in TripAdvisor. It was our introduction to Szechuan cuisine. We followed when it moved to its current location. For a while, quality and consistency faltered but it got its mojo back. We have consistently enjoyed eating here -- we find that its shao long bao (soup dumplings) rank among the best and its regional specialty cold mixed beef outshines any we have tried in this region, British Columbia, San Francisco and New York. The homestyle lamb dry pot is to die for. There was a brief time we felt that Sichuan City or Szechuan Garden were slightly better but our visits over the past year have returned Szechuan Chef to the top, in our opinion. The only issue we have with it is its loss of patronage -- early on, it was always bustling with largely Asian families. I don't know what happened, but it deserves to be tried. Hint-- you can probably get a "meh" American Chinese meal here, but you wont find better Szechuanese cuisine!More infoSzechuan Chef Chinese RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Chinese• SW Portland•3.8
