    A beautiful country setting that felt as if we were in a European Inn. Food was a value for the quality & breadth of their offerings. Waitstaff & sommelier were EXCEPTIONAL. First ate here in the early 80’s and it has continued to improve with age. Bon Petit!!

    Always a delightful stay. Food was excellent, service was a tad slow but veery agreeable, chatty stop-by with the Butler (?). One of our regular dining out experiences.

    We had a celebratory dinner at L'Auberge recently and everything was splendid--a beautiful table, suitably quiet for easy conversation, excellent but never intrusive staff and delicious food. Because of the long journey, we only come for special occasions and we are never disappointed!

    We sat at an outside table, in the tent. Very disappointing. One side of the table was literally a park bench with a thin seat cushion. The other side was a misaligned height outdoor chair. The table was about four feet long and maybe 24” wide. There was barely enough room for the plates on the table opposite each guest. Were were almost touching each other while eating and talking. Very bad seating experience. I understand outside seating is not the same standard as indoor seating, but come on…this is ridiculous. Dinner was good (Halibut and Chicken), although not exceptional. Nothing special. Just good enough. Dessert was very good. Raspberry Soufflé was excellent. The service was outstanding. Wish the seating didn’t ruin it for us. Next time, indoor seating for sure, or maybe stipulate not on a park bench.

    The food and service is amazing Michelin star level. Out of all the restaurants in the DMV, to include a three star Michelin restaurant in Virginia, my wife and I chose this one to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Highly recommend.

    So sorry to write this, but the restaurant used to be better. I used to come here for the boulaibasse and what I had was barely boulaibasse. I barely ate it. Broth tasted more like manhattan clam chowder. No fennel. Shellfish was mostly over cooked. Broken shells. Too much tomato. Still friendly place and nice atmosphere. And I always appreciated the Haeringer family and all that they do including Chef Jacque. I wish they’d change the menu a bit. I know the family is true to their Father but an update would be nice. Still really nice that we live nearby. Maybe we were there on a bad night.
